watched first episode of the original version and I really found the set up for him being framed stupid. Like…
That’s the point though. In the HBO remake, the main lead is supposed to be a studious out of place naive college student who wants to experience that sort of thing. The girl he made out with represents that sort of liberation that he is not used to having since he comes from a very close-knit reserved family upbringing & his family only sees him as the “good boy” type. In the real world it’s not uncommon that people do actually have have one night flings with strangers. Naz’s actions makes sense because as a viewer you already understand who he is from the get go.

WOAH. THE FIRST EPISODE WAS SO INTRIGUING!! I could definitely see something like this being a hit in America,…
There’s an American version of it call The Night Of (2016) & it was critically acclaimed. It won major tv awards & the lead actor Riz Ahmed won best actor for leading role, the character that Kim Soohyun is playing.

Title One Ordinary Day Spoiler
So in The Night Of they keep it purposefully vague on who the real culprit is because it really didn’t matter.…
Yep, the way the story was structured, the ending was realistic. The nuance in how his character changes was really well done.

pppfffsshttt well I definitely knew that going in xD, 18+ means it's gonna be a good mature show too.
I havent seen the first ep of the drama yet but The Night Of was really, well- I would not advise anyone under the age of 18 to watch it lol.

Hope viewers are aware that this show is going to be 18+ with mature content given that in the HBO American version, it was really graphic (TVMA+) since it dealt with heavy topics. Im not sure about the original British one.

is there any bromance? ps have a good dayyy
Depends how they approach the story. ive seen the american version not the british show so im not sure how they will execute the story here. I wouldnt say bromance lol but there are relationships that builds, atleast from what I've watched from the HBO one. It's Kim Hyunsoo and Do Ji Tae.

Title The Veil
This at 8.2 and hometown-nothing happens-cha cha cha at 8.9 lmao this site man
You’re comparing apples & oranges. Two completely diff dramas. The reason for the higher rating for HomeCha is most likely due to a higher volume of people tuning in for the show. Also, an 8.2 isnt a bad rating.

"When I watch him here, he's not acting to me, he's not reading lines- he's just talking to people".... that does…
I think what they meant is that KSH’s acting as DS comes off naturally in a way that doesn’t seem like he’s just reading lines dully/phoning it in or overacting.

The overall cast so far seems flat :/. KTR deserves a high caliber cast/drama on the level of Kingdom or Squid Game. But I will watch it just for KMT!

this is my thinking too
It seems more consistent to DS’s characterization.

The photo was of a guy, he was definitely never married.
Remember when DS said he used to be a troublemaker & how he fought in school. DS probably met his friend in his college days or in the military. Because DS was from Gongjin, I think he changed the way he talked so he could fit in Seoul & maybe his friend was the only person he was close to there?

Probably a red herring to throw the viewers off lol. It just seems too sad & we never quite see DS grieve in a way a husband does after losing a wife & child. Seems more like he feels at fault & guilty for not being able to do anything for his friend or that family in the photo?

I’m assuming the person he keep having nightmares about is his close friend? Maybe the picture he has in his book is his friend & the friend’s family? DS said he was in the military. Maybe he met the friend there? I don’t think DS ever got married & had a child given the way he talks about HJ being his “forever in his 34 years of living” lol. I feel like DS suppressed his feelings for HJ because he thinks he doesn’t deserve love because of a tragedy?

6 & 7 is already resolved
I don’t remember when she knew it was him. May be I forgot lol. Was it the earlier episode when she went to his house for the 1st time?

I actually was surprised that with such a big cast, the drama has so far managed to have us intrigued and root…
Supporting cast can either make or break the story but the supporting cast here really makes the show more vibrant & gives it depth. The two ML’s wouldn’t be the same without the supporting characters if it solely focused on the ‘love story’ aspect. When I watch HomeCha it feels like I’m part of the community there lol.

I’m actually impressed with the screenwriter. Usually these types of writing tends to be reserved for family dramas with 50+ ep with a large cast but they were able to do it within 16 ep for HomeCha while keeping it interesting & engaging without the story being too over the top.

Really love how they slowly reeled in Mr. Hong’s backstory per episode, this is what I watch dramas for lol,…
This drama is like a nicely shaped onion lol. It has layers. You’ll understand everything once you keep peeling lol.

I thought so, but let's not worry, there are many mysteries yet to be solved such as Chief Hong's real occupation,…
I know not every relationship is going to be perfect with ups & down but I hate the whole ‘break up because of lack of communication then get together again in last ep’ trope :/. It is way too common in romance dramas which bugs me lol. I’ll just watch with low expectations lol. *fingers cross
