You’re in for a treat! The romance will not disappoint you. If you enjoy romance, this is definitely for you. It is a slow burn but the wait is worth it. You will love every minute of the two leads’ scenes together. this drama does romance really well.

The politics is a bit on the back burner but it seems it will be more highlighted in the 3rd act-last 12 ep.

The story picks up after ep 3 and onward. I’m still currently enjoying it.

If you’re looking to watch a costume drama with strong political intrigue this may not be the drama for you.

If you want a romance costume drama with strong relationship between the two leads, this one is for you but it’s a slow burn & nicely written. the leads don’t officially get together around ep 20 onward.

The FL gets a bit of character development along the way. I really adore her! Same with the ML. The cast is doing great with the material they have.

kissing is already scandalous so having sex before-without marriage would be super shocking during those times for nobility-upper class lol

I’m pretty sure they were just passionately kissing since their hair & clothes didn’t look like mess within that short time frame she was in the room with him 😆 when Qingpu did the hand gesture with her fingers I think it meant kissing as in two heads put closed together. They’ve now been intimate with eachother (kissing) but Jin Zhao said it’s not enough to marry him lol

That scene pissed me off. Ugh those noble pig men 🫩😑 they are going to regret messing with Jin Zhao in the future

right! couldn’t they use a nice instrumental instead of a modern pop song 😂

It was so off-putting hearing it played during that scene 😆

It happened before. The drama doesn’t quite showcase the sense of years-time passing by very well.

I was trying not to laugh when it played 😂 it’s like the production team didn’t take it into consideration which is a shame because a more befitting music for Ming dynasty setting would really elevate the show

The modern music really takes me out of the immersion of the historical setting lmao 🤣 it fits more for contemporary shows, not costumes 😭

I’m not on this comment section very often so I’m not seeing the bullying stuff because if that’s the case, that is not great either. But since it is a romance drama, there are going to be lots of comments about the romance.

I said the romance is an aspect of the show. So ofcourse those who like the romance will talk about it a lot. Why does that ruin your enjoyment of the show?? If you don’t like the comments taking about romance just ignore them. Calling people boring is just lame to me 🤷‍♀️

Also I never complained about him not being in every episode & making long comments about it either. I said he’s rarely in the show and doesn’t appear much so why does it bother you.

Yes Renmin is the billing actor which is awesome. I love her role in this drama and Jin Zhao character & story. But if fans want to talk about the romance, it’s not an issue. There are plenty of people praising her role here and i’m literally one of them.

This is a romance drama. The CP-romance is LITERALLY a part-an aspect of the show. The romance just started so of course there will be more comments popping up on here now about the romance between the two leads. Yes, it’s a female-centric-lead drama but Yan Yun is the ML & Ci Sha is also the lead actor. He rarely got any screen time from the past 17 episodes & even episode where he doesn’t even appear at all. I don’t understand why it bothers you that people like him a lot & want to talk about him a lot 😒 calling people boring for liking something you don’t is lame lol 😑
