what episode are they gonna start to "fight" the system cuz they wanna be together? like the part where they already knew each other and the dating era begins
ED OST is one of the things that kept me here, it was a fun ride overall. (Like a longer and slightly upgraded version of Vertical Short Dramas; I rated it based on this criteria so its an 8)
Just finished, it was definitely good with a neat ending... I just can't shake of the feeling that something is missing or something could've been better so its an 8.5 for me. Anyways it was a fun ride and finished it in 4 days π
PS. If you're looking for loaded romance its not this but the action is quite good (just craved more creepy and magical stuff so I'm watching tomb raiders next, tho I don't know if it fits the bill)
I find it quite unusual that so many people in the comments have issues with Princess Lin An. I genuinely don't…
Well first, I'm still at the beginning and as I've said I'll wait for her growth. I may be judging too early but one of the thing that annoys me is that the vibe I'm getting in the film is very patriotic, serving the nation and the people kind of stuff, and then there she is, antagonizing someone who's actually useful and responsible for the betterment of their country. I mean I get that she's very insecure from being compared to the royal princess everytime but here the thing,, she's mostly immature, spoiled, reckless and dumb. She wants to surpass her sister but doesn't have the capability to do so nor does she work toward that goal and ends up getting angry at the other's achievement.
Maybe you're right, I'm taking her character too seriously when I shouldn't. She have her good sides yes but the things I've mentioned is the types of characterization that annoys me so yeah we're a bad match
The relief I've felt reading the comments π The second princess annoys me so much that I felt she's ruining my viewing experience and I'm at ep. 8,, I read in comments that she gets a character development later so I'll bear with her for now (tho pls help me, she the type of characters I really can't stand π)
Until the very end, the very last second, I was hoping for something like her going to the carefree land instead of him staying in mortal realm but alas... It was SO GOOD. Why is the ending like that, they went through so much at least a small possibility is all I wish for π
LBFD and The Long Ballad π I'm setting my sights on My Journey to You because I think it would shine a different light on Esther's acting capability. Also, I think the plot and characters are also interesting. TLB isn't getting mentioned enough but it's actually good and charming in its own way (Dilraba's braid and wavy hair in tribe setting is to die for, too bad its short-lived). And LBFD is such a love story I definitely loved for their unyielding love for each other ππ I'm gonna check the other dramas on the list, thank youuu!
Reading this makes me think of "Are You The One" of ZWY.. it's like a parallel universe where he becomes the character zi yu who ultimately chose to let go of the person he love and just be the emperor the empire needs,, I mean I guess this film is more in depth in that part but I just noticed the similarity especially cuz of the actor hehe
For me, the empress stole the whole show. I WOKE UP FOR ALL HER SCENES (lol, jk, I love all the scenes). I love…
OHMYGHAD I FOUND MY PEOPLE,, the audience ain't talking about her enough like I'll literally watch hours of her and the emperor interacting and living in the palace ARGHHH not giving us enough of this pure cutie is a crime
Already explained the other but I just wanna add... Remember that Zhao physician called him Cui Jiu unintentionally but ended up impersonating that name because of convenience. Well it's explained but some people are also called based on their family rank. Cui is his last name and Jiu means nine, meaning he ranks ninth or is the ninth child in his family. So although that is not his real name or title, it's technically also not wrong
But can someone at least tell me why the royal family is so confusing? Like we didnβt even get to know much…
Its because of the setting where different lords rule different places. If you watch "Who Rules the World" it's kind of the same setting. Every lord is a royal in their place but there is the royal family who rules them all. Although they are called royalties and have immense power and authority, they are still and must still be bound to the supreme royal family or main founding family of the empire.
PS. If you're looking for loaded romance its not this but the action is quite good (just craved more creepy and magical stuff so I'm watching tomb raiders next, tho I don't know if it fits the bill)

Anyways, love this review ππ
Didn't expect this but aside from main couple I love the emperor and empress dynamic
