first time I come to see a top actor to play a role where he will be beaten by all supporting characters left…
Top actors should be able to play every role because they are… well actors. Tan is an actor so that’s why he can play anything. Not sure about the others if ego is more important than their craft 😅
Folks here are not amused by the Tan bullying lololololol come on guys it’s not that serious and he doesn’t die in this one so that’s already a win, right? Right? 😹
"Throughout the series, it seems like she was only ever honest with XL, revealing her flaws and vulnerabilities…
"As for why she was ever only honest with Xiangliu, it was because of their connection. What was the use of pretending when he had access to exactly how she felt? Thus, ironically that was why he understood just how much she was really in love with another man and probably backed out of even giving it a better shot."
Seriously?? She was only honest with Xiang Liu because (1) he was her soulmate, (2) she loved him and not Jing, even if she never dared to admit it to herself. She was never honest with Jing because their conversations were never deep enough, only a simulacrum of what a relationship should be.
Imagine thinking the bug connection was the reason she was honest with XL when she didn't even know how exactly the bugs worked. The only thing that Xiang Liu did know via the bug connection is that she loved him, hence everything he did to push her away in the cruelest of ways and erase every single trace of his existence when he died. Why go through such lengths when, according to you, "he understood just how much she was really in love with another man"? No reason to make her forget him then, eh? Also, there's no such thing as being really in love with Jing, otherwise, Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu would have been killed by the bugs ages ago.
"I believe the author wants audience to know that, no matter what kind of advantages we may think a couple could have - it all comes down to basic communication." [sic] Actually, no. That's some TED talk/couples therapy you're confusing LYF with. The author wants the audience to know that love is not everything in life and that's okay. Some folks just have to settle for peace and stability, even if at the cost of love.
And yeah, Xiang Liu's death was supposed to be the climax because if not, what would it be? Cang Xuan was already on the throne with his multiple wives and his sad sob story arc, but there was still the need for peace to be achieved.
Nothing else after Xiang Liu's death is in any way engaging or exciting enough, hence all the budget going to the CGI in his battle scene. The rest is quite literally comprised of the epilogue. Or, if we're talking only about the novel, it's the silly marriage that was never consummated because she was too sad and drunk, and the trip to the place where she was reminded of Xiang Liu, carrying the doll gifted by Xiang Liu, and protecting everyone from now on using the skills and the bow also gifted by Xiang Liu. The end.
Hope that clarifies things for the newcomers as well :)
Again look at who is pushing the 'Jing is a servant' in LYF lolThe whole reason Jing comes off that way, is because…
Don’t you turn fire engine red when you write the stuff that you write? If Xiang Liu is the ruined character, then what should we call the others? The obliterated ones?
Ahahahahahahaha go to sleep, it must be past your bedtime 🤣
See you in the Go East comment section! Clever by the way, I liked that! 🤭
How about ask “how’s the plot so far?”, “how’s the acting?”, but I guess these are irrelevant elements nowadays.
So no idea what people expect other than some silly idol stuff.
Go East is a breath of fresh air but unfortunately not for everyone.
Maybe it’s one of the unspoken requirements in every cdrama.
Ba dum tss.
Sorry, I'll see myself out. Carry on.
