Como assim Xiang Liu "retirando-se do palco da história"? Impossível. E eu esperando ansiosamente a temporada…
Hahahahaha pois é né, decepção é pouco para nós da Nação Xiang Liu. Enfim, seguimos na luta.

Her answer is absolutely straightforward & strong like her character Wen Xiaoliu, who is strong willed and independent…
It’s such a bummer. Definitely not the most empowering message :(

Title Lost You Forever Spoiler
What is the plot of this drama? What does the FL have to do with all these ML? Who does she end’s up with at…
Some considerations: the one she loves the most ≠ the one she ends up with. I’m sure those who are familiar with the story already know this, so my reply to you, PlayTime, is not just for you. In case a better explanation is need, we have something called Lovers’ Bugs. Hint: love is needed for them to be successfully planted in a couple. Some folks like to use the word friendship but it’s only another attempt at misconstruing the novel.

So these lovely Lovers’ Bugs never turned into heartbreak bugs (that’s a thing that can happen, even though there’s not really an instructions manual but okay) not for over a century after having been successfully planted in her and in Xiang Liu (that’s the third dude, also known as The Dude).

Since she never stopped loving Xiang Liu, the Lovers’ Bugs didn’t kill her and they certainly didn’t kill him (they would have if there was no more love between our FL and The Dude). Which means other “loves” we’re inconsequential to the bugs. Irrelevant, not worthy of consideration, not something a bug would even bother getting bugged about.

Anyway, the one she ends up with after a series of unfortunate events is the companion (unfortunately not The Dude), because he is the only one alive and available in the end. She wanted a companion, she got one.

To quote Tina Turner, “what’s love got to do with it?” But I digress.

So, if you decide to watch it, get ready for a ride. Hope I haven’t been too spoilery with all my spoilers :D

Men normally die in their 70's and women normally in their 80's.
70 years was considered old decades ago when people weren't expected to live past 70-75 years of age. So not even biology factors in in today's world where more and more people are living well into their 90s, even in developing countries.

You're absolutely right. And he died because of a cancer, not natural causes. Imagine saying 70 is not young. Well, same people who probably say women in their 30s are old noonas lol clown world.

I think, its just a marketing strategy to promote Deng wei and his character Jing cause out of all main leads,…
I read somewhere that in Asian cultures (please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken, since it's not my own culture and not my area of expertise), families who have been saved by the grace of others dedicate a place for praying and honoring their savior in their homes, like a little temple in memory of that person. So, considering everything that Xiang Liu did, the least those Jingers could do is acknowledge his part in their pathetic happy ending, instead of the onslaught of very old and tiring insults they usually like to parrot. The only reason for Jing being alive during the entirety of the story is by the grace of others, i.e. Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu. It's just like you said, without Xiang Liu, this story would have been cut short. It would probably be funny to see it. Maybe Xiang Liu would be alive and we would be spared some bad acting and some very bad nonsense for more 21 episodes.

From the perspective of the drama, Fenglong would absolutely be a good option. From outside the drama, it's so difficult to believe that a sensible woman would choose a Jing-like partner in real life.

The deluded ones who say they would only say this because: 1) they don't really understand what this character represents in the grand scheme of things, so they mistake an unhealthy, codependent, and emotionally unbalanced relationship based on trauma and unresolved issues for something healthy and romantic. So much for trying to avoid the "toxic" ones; 2) it's a fantasy world, so anything goes.

But in real life, as Yang Zi pointed out in that interview, a man like Jing, too obedient and dependent on his family would not be an ideal husband for countless reasons. Nothing wrong with being filial, especially in Asian society, but not to the point of being abused, mistreated, constantly manipulated, and still utterly inept/unwilling to do something about it, despite the claims of him being resourceful and extremely clever. Imagine entering a family like this and still seeing it as the ultimate relationship goals.

Yes, we are very much Xiang Liu fans, but it's not even bothersome to me anymore that the character of Xiao Yao made that deplorable "choice". The only thing that really bothers me is how this supposed message of healing is attributed to the character who does the opposite of healing during the entire show.

Jingers love to point out how Xiang Liu represents death and coldness, when in fact he has always been the one with more lives, the one who saves, and the one who gives the means for survival. Jing is the one who stalks, entraps, constantly seeks death, is always on the brink of death, always in need of saving, always ready to quit, and unwilling to be healed (the injury on his leg) so he can have his victim card ready to be used for every occasion. His idea of saving is "Oh, let me hold on to XY's body and not even check if she's alive or not, so let's burn down together because what's the point of living apart anyway". Yikes, so much for a healer. Healers are supposed to be selfless, not selfish.

Being toxic is already a given to many fandoms, unfortunately, but it's sort of funny the equally absurd level of delusion.

I have read with my own eyes comments on Weibo saying he's the reason why Lost You Forever is such a hit. In what galaxy is that actor, with that acting expertise, playing THAT character, the reason for anything remotely comparable to a credible cause for LYF's success? He may have made a barely tolerable character a bit "endearing" for some, but to claim he's the reason for this drama's success is offensive to everyone's intelligence.

But then again, there are fans claiming he is bigger than Xiao Zhan, so...yeah. It's entertaining, though. Pure, raw delusion. Fascinating stuff to behold.
