DuoDuo is really tired nowadays so I hope he'll be able to rest for a few weeks and only started filming this…
He won't :( As soon as he wraps up his scenes in Filter, he'll go straight to Under the Skin 2. No rest for poor Tan.

MDL is trash in terms of ratings ... i just checked and saw that this is one of the most watches drama of 2024…
I was just wondering about that. Then we get those brainless idol dramas with the pretty faces who can't act to save their lives, and it's somehow 8.6-9.0. Lol, people be tripping.

Title Everyone Loves Me Spoiler
The end was mawkish and crap. The turtle bit was not even half checked with Google and veterinary advise: anyway,…
"The script was not good and I can't stand Zhou Ye's nods in many episodes. as if she wanted to imitate old fashioned bobble-head staring dog dolls glued on car dashboards Her pouting and eating like she can't put food into her mouth without half of it popping out, and then adding mewling sounds in lieu of answers to table companions (such as in ep6 22:02)."

Wait, are you talking about Everyone Loves Me or Love Me, Love My Voice? Is this her becoming her trademark?? Yikes.

Title Lost You Forever Spoiler
A few months ago, I posted that I would not watch this drama since all the male leads will be going after the…
Agreed. She shouldn't end up with any of them. Instead of allowing her to grow, to truly grow, the writer decided she should succumb to her unresolved issues and fears. Hence the appallingly bad ending, packaged as a non-tragedy that fools almost no one.

She's voiceless because she never does things to actively overcome her trauma, she only copes with her bad decisions and/or bad decisions made by others. People often think that she is a strong female character or a role model, but I personally feel that her story is more like a cautionary tale to the reader/audience. The old "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it".

Her answer is absolutely straightforward & strong like her character Wen Xiaoliu, who is strong willed and independent…
This decline in her character is so frustrating because TH inadvertently sent the message that once Xiao Yao regained her true form (a woman), she let her “psychological deficiencies” get the best of her and influence her decisions and her outcome. She became a shell of her former, stronger self. Pun not intended hehe

This comment section is interesting because people seem to have lost sight of a very important notion:

“If you deny to anyone else the right to say what you think is wrong, it will not be long before you will lose the right to say what you think is right.” This concept is often attributed to Voltaire, and it’s usually quoted as “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

So unless there’s any indication of hate speech or the intention to harm others/commit crimes, censoring people’s opinions and calling for the removal of reviews merely because they do not share the expected “positivity” is something that should never be encouraged. Stifling other people’s freedom of expression is not the right way to make online spaces better and less toxic.

If we closed down every comment section due to negative comments, there would be no more MDL. Or any other form…
The concept of fake news doesn’t really apply to people’s subjective opinions about art (art, in this case, being the drama). I understand that you find upsetting that some people do not share your positive thoughts about this particular drama, and I also understand that the review that you mentioned is very biased and full of hyperbole, such as the “zero communication or business talk that went on for 20 episodes”.

That is a hyperbolic argument that shows that the reviewer absolutely did not like the drama, but it’s not comparable to actual fake news, such as the ones we’ve seen widespread during the pandemic, for example. This person’s review is only negatively biased towards the drama, but as any criticism of art, it is subjective because art is subjective. It’s not a science, therefore it is not something to be proved right or wrong.

Anyway, if the concern is not letting fake news proliferate here on MDL, then this effort should be directed to the news section of this site, where they routinely post things about deaths, dating rumors and whatnots. Things that can be proven to be accurate or inaccurate.

People’s opinions are not subjected to the same treatment because they are not facts, they’re merely a subjective interpretation. So it is dangerous to be calling for people’s opinions to be deleted from this website under the guise of getting rid of fake news. Who determines what is fake and what is real? According to whom? The fans of the drama? They are not unbiased.

Again, I understand that you feel upset about some people not enjoying this drama the same way that you do, but it is not reason enough to be calling for censoring people’s opinions. Otherwise, we would only be left with positive reviews everywhere, which is creepy, manufactured, and similar to a 1984 scenario. A good netizen must advocate for allowing opposing views to be discussed freely (as long as no crimes are being committed), and not for them to be erased and silenced.

Sorry for the long post, it’s the lawyer in me. I have also had encounters with people who did not share the same opinion as me on dramas that I absolutely loved, but I have never wished for their opposing views to be deleted or silenced. I have no right to demand this.

It starts to verge on subjective territory. Who determines what is a lie and what is the truth? Who will be in charge of deleting reviews? How much arbitrary power will this person have? I can clearly see that you’re a fan of this drama, that’s good, but that also means that your opinion of it can be considered biased. Better to focus on enjoying the drama and not paying attention to the opinions that you consider unfavorable.

It’s amazing and yes, it bears some similarities to Frequency, which is also awesome, but it’s on a league of its own. You should definitely give it a try.

Title Lost You Forever Spoiler
You can spoil it but who the heck is the true love/the one she will ultimately wind up with. I don’t usually…
My personal view is that the True Love™ is Xiang Liu. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it corresponds to the one she will ultimately end up with. He's the 3rd ML who gives off the impression of being the main one.

There's the brozoned gege (Cang Xuan), whom she also loves but only as a brother. He's the true ML in terms of importance.

Then, there's FengLong, who is a cutie pie but not really in the grand scheme of things because he basically doesn't matter. He's the 4th ML.

And there's the other one. The "endgame", or as I like to call him, "game over". He's the Number Two.

If we closed down every comment section due to negative comments, there would be no more MDL. Or any other form of online social interaction, for that matter. It may be upsetting but that's how it is. Still preferable than any sort of censorship.

It's very interesting that she specifically mentions Wen Xiaoliu as a character she admires, and not Xiao Yao :) The ability to save herself is something that should have remained a theme throughout the story. No wonder she felt emotional when she pointed out that WXL will no longer exist in this world.
