Plot is poor and mess
Ma Lejie seems to like taking script about pseudo-incest lately but this is too messy.I'll just go through it in order. Plot is about ML father brought the FL and her mother into the family when they were young. When they grew up, ML discovered that the FL had a crush on him and they accidentally slept together. Later, ML's mother committed suicide due to depression. ML believed it was caused by the FL's mother's affair with ML father.
I skipped through parts of it; I couldn't have continued watching if it weren't for Ma Lejie and Liang Siwei and i just cannot force myself to continue the drama since the plot is going nowhere. The script was poorly done, and the editing was very disjointed. It's a pity for these two actors. Dropped.

Devastated
If you just want to admire Garvey Jin, or watch it as background noise while eating, you can give it a try. But for those looking for fresh plots and logical storylines. I wouldn't recommend it. Don't be stubborn like me.First of all, the actors are truly eye-candy Zhao Muyan is both alluring, her acting is on point, and her eye acting is amazing. Love the height difference between Garvey Jin and Zhao Muyan. The ambiguous tension between the two at the beginning is full of tension and definitely hooks you to keep watching. But! The plot...Wallahi we're finished.
The plot completely revolves around old tropes, offering zero novelty. I couldn't take it anymore and gave up halfway through. The plot is too formulaic and makes me lose my mind; even the good looks of the ML and FL and the initial chemistry couldn't save it in the later episodes. Dropped.

Such a waste.
Okay this is another Wang Nan drama i couldn't watch because of Female lead, i couldn't watch Zhu Xiao Xue stiff acting. and same expression. Wang Nan acting as dual role was really good to watch: the cunning twin brother Ji Yu and the upright and charismatic younger brother Ji Muye. The plot was quite generic though. I thought the twin setting would create some interesting chemistry, but then the older brother just disappeared while the story was unfolding. FL was supposed to be interesting person since she initiated the revenge plan to control the twin but all i see just her same expression and monotone speaking. Female Lead attitude make me dropped this drama fast than light.
I like the theme of this drama and used to watch J-drama with same theme (I love Satomi Ishihara's Unnatural) , but unfortunately, I really can't accept the FL's character. FL laughs indiscriminately when in forensic room. She laughs even when the forensic doctor is examining an autopsy at a crime scene, and she even shakes hands with him. So rude!FL is supposed to be a gentle police officer, while the ML, is a forensic doctor, yet the police officer's fighting skills feels like she paid the school to get herself enrolled. Unbearable to watch. Dropped.

Waste for stellar casts
The costume and the make up done for the mermaids and mermen are too beautiful for the budget of short drama The Plot are quite too distracted for main purpose about search FL real identity and they kind a lose focused on 4 MLs but focused on FL brother instead (he was FL RL ex bf so maybe its their last encounter) if they want to get fairly focused on ML they should lessen the ML maybe (2-3 ML). Underwhelmed drama.
I was excited when i heard Huang Bo and He Jianqi are going to be dual male lead and turns out it was ultra-disappointing.Plot is about FL disguising her identity, using the ML and the SML and using her intelligence to stir up trouble. The three are caught in a love-hate relationship. Yuling was bravely kissing both He Jianqi and Huang Bo but her chemistry never show up in this entire drama. There is no sparks between two couples in this drama. Yuling was miscast and her acting stills weak.
The pacing is super disjointed, the plot has breaks, some plot twists are abrupt, and the editing is disjointed. For example, sudden changes in characters' behavior and illogical developments in events constantly raise questions while watching, affecting my view experience. Dropped.

disappointment
I remember i have high expectation of this drama in March 2025 due the cast (Shen Haonan, Wang Ziyi, Yue Yuting-three of them are well-known names)The chemistry between Shen Haonan-Yue Yuting is non-exist. Even Wang Ziyi antic couldn't save this drama from disaster. The plot is about childhood friends who met again on the plane and ML& SML are rival since their childhood.
The plot are dragging, no sweet moment, only misunderstand and lack of communication. Snoozefest and change the other drama for releasing boredom in this drama.
Shen Haonan got himself drunk and choosing this script only to get more weakness of his acting portofolio.
I understand why Yue Yuting always cast as seductress FL and never got this kind of role beside of that because she cannot break her acting stigma (all of her drama is same to me).
Not worth of the watch, watch their other respective drama instead.

Ok great face but not my taste.
Before you could attack me. I am fan of Both actor. Their gorgeous face are complimenting each other. But i wish they could get more tragic drama with Bad Ending. I tried to watch since i have expectation of angst feeling but the scene was too draggy. ML backstory is well written but i couldn't stan FL character. Their chemistry is okay the kiss was fine but not make me fluttering. The duration of drama make me sleep and too lazy to done the drama. Dropped.Was this review helpful to you?
Yang Jie needs to improve her acting
Ok this is another Zhao Zhendong with wheelchair pretends to be disabled plot.Basically the plot is really same and they tried to get this drama into comedy. Yang Jie is super stiff and her chemisty with Li Boyi is non exist. The force comedic feels so stage and fake. I cannot continue to watch this. Dropped.

Kan Ziyi was miscast in this drama.
I watched this last year because of Liang Siwei and i dont like this drama.The plot was alright, but Kan Ziyi was a miscast she looks to mature to be 19. The tug-of-war between them wasn't really there. He's always showing off his abs in dramas (I just remember from most drama starred Liang Siwei , there is the first scene Liang Siwei throw his clothes topless and kissing the FL lmao). FL's character is not very likable. She is pretentious and wants everything. I tried to tolerate but i cannot force myself to done this drama. Dropped.

Common trash plot.
Despite my love for Zhao Zhendong, i cant finish this drama since i don't like Dong Zi Yuan on this drama she is miscast on this drama and no chemistry between the lead. The male lead character is trash. The children didn't help it too. The plot was too common and i suggest you to watch other drama instead.Was this review helpful to you?
Wang Yilei solely good acting cannot save this drama.
I remember when i watched other version the plot was so-so but the acting was so adequate to make me engaging on that drama. This drama ruined my view experience. Even my friends saying this version was the best, i completely never agree with her. The production of this drama feel sloppy.I wont say Wang Yilei acting cannot acting (but Yang Shuyu stills has no improvement and it was making this experience more worse) but the ML looks misfit as someone older, FL didn't look too mentally strong and somehow they are miscast on the adaptation. It feels he works alone in full of group assignment. but the result still got F-.

Non-sense drama
I watched this last year and decide to discontinue this drama and reminisce my memory and re-check my decision and turn out i was right back then.Plot is generic formula in Chinese short drama and getting more ridiculous SFL change the jade pendant with a watch doesn't make it better.
It was uncomfortable to see child abuse and lack of chemistry between Zhang Yuntao and Liu Xiyu make me dropped this drama fast.

Xu Siqi is miscast and this CP didn't match the plot.
I watch Zeng Hui and Han Yutong version and felt so satisfying to rewatch. I give try to Huang Bo and Xu Siqi version and...God I cannot watch this Xu Siqi lacks femme fatale aura and her way of delivering as Lin Yue is too weak. She was miscast. Huang Bo cannot help to save the drama, he looks too lazy instead being cold person. Dropped.Was this review helpful to you?
Quite promising body swap plot but ...
Ok I watch it in last year when i was new into Chinese short drama and didn't know their names. The plot is actually quite good and promising and I like Wang Nan comedic banter even when he is on feminine mode. Zuo Yi was actually good on her role as bad actress but somehow i don't enjoy her vibe make me want to stop watch. I tried to fasten and skimming the drama but maybe my intuition wont make me want to watch this drama. Dropped.Was this review helpful to you?
