Episodes 5 and 6 (the painting competitions) are as good as any K-drama episodes I've seen in the last couple of years. Unfortunately, nothing really happens for long stretches after that.

Overall, I would say, first 1/3rd pretty good (at some points great), last two episodes decent, but episodes 7 through 14 are kind of a vast wasteland. A shame, because there were flashes of brilliance that were never fully developed.

Title Mother Spoiler
the BF needed a proper ass kicking, and a more painful death too.
Well, he burned to death. It doesn't get much more painful than that.

Title Mother
Tbh this is extremely manipulative, but it was also a really good entertainment
Whoa. You can't just drop that comment without explaining why you think that way. This drama was nominated for the Cannes Festival for Pete's sake, the only Korean drama ever nominated for that.

Title My Mister
A true masterpiece with just one problem: The name "My Mister" can be offputting, especially if you do not watch…
I agree. "Mister" is rather slangy, and often used pejoratively in English. It's not a term describing an older man, as ajussi is in Korean. I've long thought that a better title in English would have been "My Gentleman".

Title My Mister
The only other drama that has hit me like this is the Korean version of Mother. Very different story, but similar…
Kindred spirit here, rje1. "Mother " is my all-time #2 as well. After that, there is a huge drop off.
