I really love this movie. The anime is on my watch list and I'm busy collecting the manga. This is definitely a must watch for those of you guys who love shoujo anime live action movies. But... if your here for the ewwy gooey romance stuff u won't really find it. I think this story is about way more than kissing and stuff (in the anime though I think, but live action not) It's about a bond between Sawako and Kazehaya and I think the chemistry is really good between the actors. Also Haruma Miura who acted as Kazehaya Shota, died last year on August 18 T_T

Am I the only one who hates the SML? // you need patience for this drama!!

First Impression: I came across this drama on mydramalist, while searching up princess or something related into the search bar seeing what I would find. I came across this drama and started a few weeks later when I was on holidays in France, because I had internet all night. I binged watched the first 10 or so episodes very fast. It was when I came into the second part of the drama, that things got so slow! I had to make myself finish this, but dropped it in the end. I have had mixed feelings the whole time I was watching this drama. I can't tell if I like the main couple or hate it, or like the male lead or not. I liked the interactions between the queen and queen dowager the most. (probably because I prefer historical/saeguk kdramas over modern ones).
This drama is based off of a manhwa which I was going to get, but seeing that is has more of an open ending, I didn't really want to waste my time with a bunch of drama. NOW BACK TO THIS STORY.

Story (till ep 18) :
Set in an alternative universe, where south korea is a monarchy.
The Grandfather (the king at that time) of the Crown prince (ML) and the grandfather of an ordinary girl (FL) were friends and for her grandfather helping his, He says that his granddaughter will marry the crown prince.
The FL's family has problems with debts and loan sharks , So she agrees to marry the crown prince to help her family. They get married, but the ML is in love with another girl. They don't get along at first. I'd say their relationship is on and off. When you think they finally get together, something interferes. Also the sml shows up too much. The FL starts to fall in love with the ML first and eventually by the last episodes, the ML finally starts accepting his feelings for her.

So I did watch the last scene in ep 24 when they get married for real. and i've seen other scenes on youtube, but I don't really have the patience to finish this drama. But I might eventually try and finish it.

Cast/Performance/Characters:
- I HATE the yool guy. I feel like the whole drama wants me to feel sorry for him, but he's just a whiny little btch. He's like that Jacob or Keita (from Itakiss) character in so many of these arranged marriage dramas. Why do smls always go after the married ones! (not always lol). Anyways I've seen many people feel sorry for him, but I don't get it.
- Now the Main Male Lead. So to be fair I feel like both the male leads in this drama are crappy, but atleast this guy has his looks going for him. Throughout most of this drama I've been waiting for him to finally make up his mind between Hyo-rin and Chae Kyung, cause it gets so frustrating when you think he's giving up on hyo rin and likes the FL but then some more problems between them happen. I mainly just don't like his attitude. Like nothing he did was wrong.
- Now the Second Female Lead: Hyo-rin. So in episode 1 the ML who has a crush on her, proposes to her so that he doesn't have to marry some stranger. But she REJECTS him (remember this part). Afterwards when he's married she acts like he's the one who rejected her. I don't really like her, but she's not the worst character.
- Now on to Chae Kyung (FL) I liked her. I don't know how she put up with the ML for so long, before he finally started caring.

I think their acting was good enough.

Music: was decent, but nothing all that memorable except for maybe one song.

So do you think I'm looking to much into this drama and should just watch it for what it is?
hmm maybe..but idt so..

edit: this didn't have to be 24 eps long.

i only watched for xu kai and him alone couldn't keep me interested..

i was close to finishing this drama but I just lost interest. (I have seen the ending though)

The plot didn't really interest me and I found myself first only watching for the couple and then the ML (who reminded me of landon from a walk to remember for some reason..)

I also don't like the FL actress. she's wayy to stiff and doesn't really move her face (show emotions. occasianally she does, but usually not) I've tried watching her in my heart and it just wasn't working. Let's just say you HAVE TO like the actress to enjoy this or at least tolerate her.

E sports isn't really something that interests me either.

now on to things that might be enjoyable:
- if you're interested in e sports
- like xu kai
- like bickering couples
- it's a rom com
- there are some nice scenes between the couple
- I kinda liked the second couple
- fluffy romance

I don't remember the music.. (I watched this a while ago.)

Overall 7/10. I won't rewatch. I have edited the main couple, but that's about it.

I stayed for the main couple

The main couple really carry the show. without them i wouldn't have watched it.

if you look at the story as a whole, there are a LOT of plot points that are kinda random or that they end abruptly, that I wish they would elaborate on a bit more, but then again it is only 12 eps long. i like the romance. the ML has good character development. i like the female lead's acting and she looks best in the maid outfit. the second male lead is DULL and BORING and goes on my list of guys who look like penguins (no offense btw).

the story isn't such a strong one. mostly fluffy and comedy in the beginning. i like that there were some more serious scenes.

the romance and lead couple are so cute. 💗

i haven't seen 11-12 yet. but I'm pretty eager to finish them.

i started the king 2 hearts while waiting for this to air, so this is a nice refreshing fluffy sorta drama to while I'm almoat finished with the last episodes of tk2h.

I wanted to like it, but it ended up being a non-immersive experience..

I want to propose a question to the producers of this drama: why should I care about this story?

This isn't a bad drama/movie, however it feels like eps 10 and 11 of a 12 episode drama.

From ep 1, you are thrown into the story, there is limited world-building, which results in me not caring about the characters, story or how it ends. Something went wrong somewhere.

I felt like an onlooker, rather than being immersed into the story.

The music was nice and gave it a nostalgic vibe.

The romance was very short-lived while she was alive.

In the end, I was left hoping for more..

The cast and acting is good.

But like I said, I didn't even know what was happening with the gangster plot. I wouldn't have known the ML was a gangster if I hadn't read the plot beforehand.

Many people seem to really like this drama, so don't let me stop you from watching it.

I will leave you with some random thoughts I had while watching:

- you're thrown right into the story, if I didn't read the premise I wouldn't have known the male lead to be a gangster from the start of things, it didn't really introduce you to characters like what usually happens in an ep 1.. ep 1 to me felt like a later episode, but it is only 2 eps long so maybe for the best that they didn't spend time world building?
- mr. yellow shoes is in this
- why should I care about this story?
- it has nice music (classical and 'a love so beautiful')
- things were happening in ep 1 and I just didn't care about it.. I wanted to, but they didn't set up the story in any way that you would end up caring about the characters, I feel like an onlooker
- at the end of ep 2 I started getting more interested, but then it ended
- the story in itself is not bad, but just felt incomplete and I couldn't immerse myself in it..
- it has an early 2000s vibe

"I once crossed the desert in tears and despair. I am now about to cross it with love."

*a sad, sweet and simple story*

QUOTES:
"I will always be with you."
"Love is said to be, always something that we don't know its depth, until the time for farewell comes."
"I wanted to make our love, the best love in the world."
"It's not farewell, until we have each other in our hearts."

"everybody has a desert of their own to cross. I met a small oasis, on my way to cross the desert. abundant blue water. across the oasis which is full of abundance. I know the way to cross that desert now.
I once crossed the desert in tears and despair. I am now about to cross it with love."

like I wrote in the headline, it is a simple story about a married couple's happy life being disrupted when the husband finds out he has a brain tumor and then how he slowly passes away. before He died he wrote letters to comfort his wife. He encouraged her to keep on living and pursuing her dreams.

it is a bittersweet movie, but it's worth watching, plus there is the 90s charm of it, reminding us of simpler times. the couple live a quiet life in the countryside, which I admired.

I'd recommend watching it for yourself, on a rainy day.

oh and it does have a hopeful ending :)

as for music, the song "stand by me" played at parts and it fit well. and there is a nice violin and piano soundtrack.

(and the make-up department did a good job making park shin yang look sickly)

in a nutshell, what I really like is how she decided to live instead of giving up after he passed away. She loves him and always will, but he would have wanted her to be happy.

*SPOILER* Does the FL ever get better?

this was my question when I first started this drama with NO EXPECTATIONS whatsoever.
This is another arranged marriage drama and I watched this right after "delightful girl choon hyang " which both have arranged marriage elements. But even though both these dramas felt similar in a way, I think DGCH is a bit better, but this one a bit less annoying..

First Impression:
I like the ML. He's a mature man who cares about his work and not really anything else. He's 28.
The FL on the other hand is so annoying!! especially in the first few eps. at around ep 8 or so she maybe calms down a lot but towards the end of the drama, she drifts back to her old self again. She's very immature and yells so much at people, even strangers and I just kept thinking "would anyone ever do or say any of this irl?" Also whenever she has conflicts with the ML almost always got angry and ran away. She's supposed to be 18, but she felt more like she was still 14 or 15 tbh. In the end of the drama she's probably 20 or so and she doesn't change. But she's made the ML show more of his immature side too.

But instead of talking of all the bad points, I'll tell you about some good ones:

Secondary Characters:
the ML's ex girlfriend comes back and she is a real bit* in the beginning and I dislike her attitude, but at the same time..honestly there were times I thought she would be a better match for the ML. and. towards the end of the drama, she becomes a character I actually liked.

The ML's sister who somehow think she has a say in her brother's marriage is quite annoying at first, but towards the end she finally accepts the FL as her sister in law and she has a cute romance with the ML's friend. He was funny I thought.

The ML's grandfather is even better than the ML in this drama! he's a cute grandfather and looks like he walked right out of a sageuk drama :)

I'm still wondering how the FL's quite nice mother could've raised such an annoying, immature daughter..like did she not teach her anything? I really wonder that..

Story Broken Down:
1.) ML & FL's grandfathers were best friends and kind of like in "Goong" they arranged for their grandchildren to get married some day.
2.) ML & FL have a bad first encounter
3.) ML & FL find out about the marriage, when his grandfather (who lives in Andong) finally finds the FL's family again. ML doesn't want to marry an immature child and I can agree with him. they both strike a marriage contract plan and decide to marry.
4.) at ep 8 or 9 they have their first kiss
5.) at ep 11 ML tells FML he loves her first and ep 12 she admits she loves him too
6. ) ep 12/13 they become real husband and wife
7.) ep 14 or so she finds out she's pregnant
8. ) some dumb conflicts come up
9.) time skip to when the couple have twins and are going on a honeymoon. there are some cute voiceovers and then it just kinda ends there.

Music:
It used some englisch songs and had some of it's own OST, but it wasn't that memorable.

Conclusion:
One thing this drama does have is some cute couple moments which made me squeal from time to time and that's what makes this drama still enjoyable: the main couple.
But I do think this drama is a bit long and doesn't have that much stuff going on.
Also there are some plot holes:
- FL in the end of the drama wants to find her dream and in the end it's hinted that she becomes a seamstress, but it isn't clear if she does or not.
- *spoiler I'm sorry* the grandfather dies and after his quick funeral it shows the ML crying and then there's a time skip.

I'll give it 7.5/10 because of the couple, but the FL can really get on your nerves and don't really expect much character development.

Amazing Chemistry Bewtween Lead Couple!!! [9/10]

Overall:
to be honest, in the beginning I wasn't expecting much. I don't usually watch these types of dramas, but I decided to give it a shot. There were some dumb plots in the beginning and some cliché moments. But I kept watching and at about ep 15 I was pretty interested in seeing this couple get together. I do think that the drama didn't have to be 36 episodes, and they could've shortened it, but I'm not really complaining. Zhu Yun's parents though (ucchh) especially her mom…
I was comparing this to other similiar dramas (I haven't seen, but seen clips of) and in a way it's similiar, but there's just something different this drama has.

Cast:
I haven't seen Chen Fei Yu before, but I think he was the right choice for Li Xun. I've seen Zhang Jing Yi in Fall in Love, and it's definitely nice to hear her actual voice here. These actors have such natural chemistry, that most of their romantic scenes don't feel acted. The supporting characters were well cast.

Music/OST:
I think the ending song sets the whole mood/vibe/feeling for this drama. I like the other OST too.

Rewatch Value:
I might rewatch the whole drama, but probably more likely that I'll just rewatch their scenes and FMVs.

Now on to the Story:
Where do I begin?...
Li Xun comes off as arrogant to some of the characters, but I didn't really think so. In the beginning of the drama he has blonde hair. He meets Zhu Yun who's also studying programming and at first they don't get along so well, but after going through things together, they start to fall in love. (also after he meets Zhu Yun, he dyes his hair brown, which I think was the best look for him tbh.)
They both join the same ''study group''? at college and he starts calling her princess. You find out why further on...
The get together in ep 18 or 19, and they're so cute together!!

Now the drama mostly hits, when her parents meet li xun and her mom doesn't like him (you find out why).
Li Xun starts pushing Zhu Yun away and Li Xun goes to take revenge on Fang Zi Jing for what he did to Zhu Yun's best friend and Li Xun gets put in Jail.

(after like a 3 year gap)

They meet eachother again and after a lot of drama and stuff..they get TOGETHER!!!

- sorry for this bad review, I just don't know what to write without spoiling too much, but I recommend this drama. -

enjoyable but don't expect too much

It's been a while since I've written a review, but I'll try my best to keep it short.

I finished this whole drama in a week. It was nice to binge as a fluffy romance drama.
Overall I did enjoy this drama even though the plot was a bit rushed towards the end and you felt like they could've elaborated certain plot points to make the story more interesting. As for the MLs objective of wanting to find his mother's murderer was rushed towards the end. (he found out who it was, went to kill him and that was the end of that.)
I liked that it was about two couples and overall the basic concept was fun. I like both couples, but the second couple had more chemistry and kiss scenes. The main couple didn't have many kiss scenes, so I wished they had more.
I liked the cast and the acting. The FL was kinda dumb and naive and times which was a bit frustrating to watch, but Overall I liked this drama and would re watch their scenes again.
The best part is HAPPY ENDING!

First this drama has violence, rape, kidnapping etc. In it, but I think it's a story everyone should know of. Especially teen girls.

Hana yori dango is based on a manga/anime series from the 90's of the same name. There are many versions, but the japanese is always the best in my opinion.

Now on with the review:

*Story*
Hana yori dango is about a girl name Tsukushi Makino. She goes to a school for rich people. There are 4 guys called f4 or flower 4 which if they don't like someone they give them a red notice and they become the target of bullying. Tsukushi also recieves a red notice from the head of the f4: Tsukasa Domyouji. She then stands up to him and he starts being interested in her. Now that aside tsukushi starts liking another f4 member, but eventually falls for tsukasa.

I think it's important to see how Domyouji changes as he gets to know here more and more. And also falls for her more and more.

*Acting/Cast*
I love the cast. Matsumoto Jun is so handsome. And the girl did a good job. 10/10
Their acting is so natural that it doesn't feel like they're acting.

*Music*
I really like the songs and bgm in this drama.

*Rewatch*
I'd definitely watch this over and over!

I give it a 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️

It's interesting but gets a bit weird

So first of all. I wanna say that I'm stillnot the best at writing reviews. So im sorry in advance if it doesn't make sense...

*Story*:
Ok so the basic plot starts off with a normal guy working for an advertisment company and he ends up meeting his old friend (mao) from junior high. They start to fall in love again and runaway together and get married. So up until now everything is still normal. But than the Fantasy in this movie starts....
So it turns out that mao was actually the cat that scrathed him on his hand. (You'll see if you watch it). And she wanted to become human, but in the end of the movie she dies I think and everyone forgets about her. But at the very end he meets her again in a park.
So if you like romance with a bit of a weird twist than you'll enjoy it.

*Cast*
One of the reasons I watched this movies is because of Jun Matsumoto. I love his role in Hana Yori Dango and really wanted to see him in other movies too. So his acting was great. As for the Mao actress. I think this is the first movie I've seen with her, but her acting was good too.

*Music*
The english song they played was good. I think the other music is nice too.

*Rewatch Value*
So even though the story was a bit weird. I definitely don't regret watching this and If I ever am bored or something I might Watch again. But I think once was enough. So give it a watch.

*Where you can find it*
So I thought I should add this in, because a lot of people probably wonder where to watch. So if you don't know. You can download or watch on Kissasian or on dramacool too.

See you <3

*Story*
The Story overall had an interesting Concept.
I mostly started watching this Drama, because of the "book aspect" of it. I want to be a Novelist when I'm older so I think that's the reason I started watching it.
Let me just say this. I think this drama really had potential. But the story just wasn't that great. The concept of it is good though and I would definitely give it another shot of the story was just a bit more enjoyable ;)
I don't know about you, but I don't like it when the main male lead is a Playboy. But that's just my opinion. I didn't finish this, but since it's based on a shoujo manga. They definitely got together in the end.

I only watched 2 episodes. I felt like the story was missing something. It's like I watched an episode, but just felt kinda empty. Like there was nothing drawing me towards the story. I think if you watch the first 1 or 2 episodes and it still doesn't really draw you in. Than it's not worth watching.

*Acting*
I thought the acting was ok. But it was nothing amazing.

*Music*
I think that the music really has an effect on the vibe of the drama. So I liked that they used "clair de lune" and other classical piano pieces. Some how the music really fit the theme of the drama. So I did like the classical music they used, but the rest was average

*Rewatch Value*
I personally dropped this title and even if I finished it, I wouldn't rewatch it again.

I might consider finishing this at some point..

this was one of the first kdramas I've started and I'll just list some things I liked and maybe didn't like (in the first 5 eps)

liked:
- i liked seeing lee min ho in a saeguk (this was before i watched legend of the blue sea)
- I think the female lead actress suits her role and also acted like anyone would when going back in time
-

disliked/meh:
- idk why but the bad guy reminds me of a star wars character. like he'd fit right in 😅
- cringey side bad guys
- the fantasy elements

i haven't seen enough to give a proper review. if i do continue it one day I hope the couples gets together cause I've seen spoilers.

Grand Prince Ep 1: First Impression

I started this drama randomly on Viki and I had a hard time getting into it, because it also shifts between past and present and ep 1 feels a bit like when you arrive late at the cinema and miss the beginning of the movie. that's what this felt like. It felt like you missed the beginning of the story and that made it hard to figure out why characters where doing what they were doing, you know ?

I've seen the FL in bridal mask so I just see her as mok dan..

[ also the colouring and production quality makes not only this drama, but some others hard to really get into the world of the drama if you know what I mean..like in dramas, which feel higher quality or even older dramas like the princess' man or even moon embracing the sun just make it easier to into that time.. ]

I feel like I've heard this music in other dramas..maybe not the exact OSTs but the song sounds familiar..

I've seen quite a lot of bad reviews but some good ones of people saying they loved or really liked this drama..

I picked this drama up again, after having it on hold for a while and am on ep 8. there are some things that don't makes sense and the plot may not be a whole lot original, but I like the main couple, but feel like they've picked the wrong drama..(which so much drama and stuff)

Also the SML feels like a fickle kinda guy..
