The girl trying to prevent her parents from getting married???? Okay, a cool way to basically kicking the bucket, or rather never having a bucket in the first place. Seems interesting.
Can I have the Korean subtitles? I'll translate them myself. Will share with everyone if necessary. Thank you.
https://mega.nz/folder/Vsp1za7S#3Mu-52f3LPcs_ChLWKT8Dg Here, I saw 2 korean subtitles for ep 1 and 2. Now, in subscene ep1 and ep2 has eng subtitles, but they are google translated, and difficult to understand. You can give it a try, do you understand korean?
Can someone tell me why the subs aren't here yet. I took a break from kdrama, started the comeback with "The one and only" and the last 2 episodes I found no sub, it took i think 3 more days to get the sub. Now, with this one, again the same thing is happening. Is there a particular reason for this that I'm missing here?
Oh yeah, it had politics, corruption, media manipulation. But, all of these were laid out in a very realistic manner, and really the pacing of the show in regards to story-development and character development was GREAT.
The ML and FL started out differently, their meeting was anything but pleasant, for both of them. Over time, it became something different, yes, but the progression of that was very different compared to traditional kdramas, it felt very natural, realistic and understandable. Personally, I would recommend everyone who enjoys realistic-paced thriller-crime-mystery drama with properly paced relationship (romance, bromance, familial) development and aren't too impatient. Also, don't be discouraged by the 8.3 ratings, I can assure you one thing, if this show was casted by Song Joon Ki or Lee Jong Suk or Park Seo Joon, even if they did just "Okay" acting, this show would have received around 9 score simply through the power of storyline. That being said, all the actors have acted Brilliantly in this show, and I wouldn't dare change them with any ultra popular star even if I had that option, now freaking way! Then "The Good Detective" won't be "The Good Detective".
Actually, no direct cliffhanger. It ends with one mystery left to be solved. Throughout the series, the main male lead's father's death is a mystery, which wasn't the primary story of the show this season, it was rather another death of a police officer, and a few more related to that, which causes someone to be wrongfully accused. At the end of the show, it seemed like, the story behind the ML's father's death isn't what it seemed to be. Probably, the 2nd season will revolve around that mystery, or at least, it will be solved alongside the main storyline for this season.
Excuse me but how can you give a review for a drama after watching only two of its episodes. What if the plot…
First of all, didn't you see that i said it was "initial review"? And also, I clearly said I will hopefully do a full review after the drama has finished. If I can't do that, at least I will either lower the ratings, or keep it or increase, depending on the performance. "This if anything else shows a certain kind of disrespect to other's people's time"- Well, rather than disrespecting my time, you should have just read the review carefully. And also, this ain't a 16 episode show, just 6 episodes. 33% of the show has already finished. As far as those who are looking for something good to watch, well, they should do their own research, shouldn't they? As far I am concerned, if I finish a drama, I make sure to update the ratings. But, again, you should really read the review properly rather than going on with your long critical paragraph.
I agree. I just mentioned them to basically show that even if those super popular stars did very mediocre acting…
I also didn't like The king: Eternal Monarch, if that's the one you are talking about. The start was good, but after that it pretty much became a fashion show where the main model was Lee Min Ho. I mean, I have other things to do beside staring at his face throughout the entire show. The storyline became flat, and the acting, well, if someone wants to call it great acting, then, I can't really say anything. I would argue, even the child actors acted better in that show. The storyline was truly abysmal. It's been a long time that I've seen Lee Min Ho in an actual good drama, which is not tainted by his star image. But, he is very popular, and hence the high ratings, although, it died out, Thankfully. Itaewon Class, Doom at your Service, Eternal Monarch, all these shows in the recent times have been relevant, I would say, purely due to star power and, well, VISUALS, as some drama lovers would like to say.
JCW needs a really good hit, something that's not just a commercial hit, but also an artistic victory with consistent a-z good rating. His recent dramas have been anything but disappointments, compared to what those could be. While he has pretty much everything he needs to be a successful korean actor, problem is, for one reason or another, recently his dramas start out well and then falls apart. Although I enjoyed his performance in Lovestruck in the City to a good degree where he basically carried it pretty much himself by his acting and his star power, I won't call it a Really Good Drama by any means. I won't even talk about Backstreet Rookie and, God forbid, Melting me Softly.
In this day and age where you have great shows like D.P, Squid Game, Taxi Driver, Move to Heaven, Beyond Evil, Mad for each other, Flower of Evil, It's okay to not be okay, Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Vincenzo, The Devil Judge, Hospital Playlist etc etc, a flip-flopping drama with average mixed rating honestly won't cut it. Hoping for a really good hit this time around. Let's see.
He is also the Main Male Lead in upcoming "My Name" and the ongoing "Yumi's Cells", finally he is getting recognition. This Year and 2022 seems to belong to him. Happy for him really.
I’m also currently watching NgM in ‘Good Manager’ … wow I can’t believe his opposite appearance & character…
He was also Great in "Hotstove League". I am not even mentioning his other roles in other dramas, honestly this dude is such a Great and Versatile actor, and sometimes I feel he is severely underrated to many viewers. His choice of projects is just, well, almost always spot on, and for the last 2-3 years his choice of roles is improving. Whether he is playing the Main Lead, 2nd Lead, Support role or even guest role, he plays them just the way they should be played.
