When I watched Wonderful World for Kim Namjoo, I already realized that Cha Eunwoo had become a good actor, but considering his then recent real-life tragedy, I still had some reservations because I wondered if part of the improvement came from drawing on his own experiences to portray the grief and loss. So I thought maybe it was just a one-off performance that happened to align perfectly with the material.

But this drama completely changed my mind. It proves that his performance in Wonderful World was not a fluke. In fact, I went into The WONDERfools intending to be critical of his acting. If anything, my expectations were higher because I wanted to see whether he could replicate that level of performance in a completely different role. And honestly, he blew me out of the water. What impressed me most is how stable he has become as an actor. The emotional scenes land, but so do the lighter moments. His reactions feel natural, and his delivery is much more controlled. He feels present in the character Lee Unjeong.

I think people need to update their opinions because you can no longer convince me that he's a bad actor.

This drama really shows me that Cha Eunwoo is a good actor. I hope he'll appear in more works.

Did you guys know that Cha Eunwoo’s name is being heavily censored like he’s Voldemort by parts of Korean…
I know right? How come Korean entertainment industry’s social punishment over “rich people bad” sentiment feels way more tangible and harsher than the very obvious “chair, but make it electric” sentiment toward actual s*xual predators.

Title The WONDERfools Spoiler
Do Un Jeong know Ho Ran was kissing him? Or he realize later? Because he doesn't seem shocked
You should put spoiler. But to answer your question, his eyes shifted the moment she handed him the handkerchief because the real Chaeni would have used her sleeve instead. So I think he knows, that's why he doesn't seem shocked. He also has a soft spot for Horan because she's actually very nice when they were young.

My biggest problem with this drama is how he somehow walked away with just 3 band-aids when realistically he should’ve been in a hospital coma for the next 3 months. IYKYK.

Saw someone comparing the four of them to the The Powerpuff Girls and honestly…I can kinda see it. Unjeong is the exhausted Professor, Robin is Bubbles, Chaeni is Blossom, and Gyeongun is definitely Buttercup. Does that make the serum...Chemical X?

Oh brother...The gap in acting abilities is so so apparent when Cha Eunwoo goes head to head against all these…
Well, if you like very over-the-top in-your-face acting, then you do you.

But personally, I thought Bae Nara’s performance was just okay. I honestly don’t see the “absolutely serving” acting you are talking about. He mostly just stood there clapping, smirking, and contorting his face to look angry.

So, I guess it really comes down to personal opinion and taste.

Title The WONDERfools Spoiler
So I was watching the cast interview and they mentioned that the whole story only spans like 2 weeks leading up…
Like, if I suddenly found out my mom I've been missing was still alive after 20 years, would I still be able to give it up for someone I only met 2 weeks ago?

So I was watching the cast interview and they mentioned that the whole story only spans like 2 weeks leading up to the year 2000, and suddenly the ending of episode 5 made so much more sense to me. I think I seriously need to rewatch this drama now.

People were like “the kiss came out of nowhere” but did you guys not see her bucket list?

“KISS~” was literally written in HUGE English letters complete with "💋chu-♡". That foreshadowing could not have been more obvious.

Saw an iMBC review saying that Cha Eun Woo’s portrayal “breaks immersion” because his good looks contrast too sharply with the ordinary-looking characters. Like what is he supposed to do? LOL

My steak is TOO juicy apparently. They really just be saying anything at this point to target him.

I'm probably the only one who doesn't like this drama. The characters make dumb choices just for the sake of comedy.…
Yes, you're right, you're the only one who think like that.

Wasn't expecting that plot twist in episode 5. Wow.
Somehow he looks much hotter there than in the white tank top scene.

Watched The Wonderfools only to realize that the daughter in Hi Bye Mama is actually a BOY!?

The child actor who plays Child of Eternity is Seo Woo!?

I know a lot of people say he’s good looking, and I do find him objectively attractive, but can we talk about how insanely different he looks with and without the glasses?

Like when he has the glasses on, I’m just like “ok yeah, sure, good looking dude.” But the moment he takes them off, I’m suddenly like "holy sh*t? what in the greek god is he?"

My God, he has such pretty eyes and the eyelashes of my dreams. It’s like someone flipped a switch and suddenly I got it. I finally get what people see in him now.

Gotta say, after watching so many Korean and Chinese dramas where the actors have full makeup or filter, this drama is a breath of fresh air because I legit can see Cha Eun Woo pores, pimple, and the hair follicles on his hand. I can even see his eye bags, so he is probably on minimal makeup. He's really in it not too look pretty, though he still is no matter what he does lol.

I honestly thought Cha Eun Woo was going to play another pretty boy role again, but the teddy bear scene immediately convinced me otherwise. He really dares to sacrifice his good looks for comedy, and his emotional acting has also improved a lot.

I think I can genuinely say now that he’s become a good actor.
