I haven't seen this yet, but I still plan to watch it for fun even though I know it's terrible. But I'm so curious…
Yes they are similar, you have space ship (an old Toyota with some glued-on kitchen utensils and big blue lights on the rear) and out come some humans in very funny (Elton John style) outfits - still Monty Pyton style. Unfortunately the hilarious conversations in Pytons films are replaced by run-of-the-mill standard BL conversations
I think the show fell flat. They tried to tackle one of the most difficult genres and it did not go well. I love this genre and some of my all-time favorite films fall into this category (Monty Pyton's "Life of Bryan" and "The holy Grail"). In my opinion, the integration of a "traditional" = "highly predictable" BL was really bad and killed it. A show like this must be fresh, crazy and totally unpredictable, to work.
I'm continuing watching this now. When i started it, i dropped it after 5 minutes. The first scene he gets hit…
So, i finished it - kinda...so it turned out to be a medical documentary about a mental health clinic, the Psychiatrist has a boyfriend with a psychological disorder, a little sister who needs a bone marrow transplant, a brother who is a depressed alcoholic, another brother with a boyfriend who has cancer and the granny has Meniere's disease. Did I forget something? ๐ฅ
I'm continuing watching this now. When i started it, i dropped it after 5 minutes. The first scene he gets hit by a bike (on the street) then falls back (on the beach ๐ฅด) and then the other guy falls on top of him and their lips touch ๐ฑ . I sighed in disbelief and in the next scene 2 guys punch each other in the face, and then kiss and have sex in the middle of the street ๐ฅ. That was all i could take and I hit the exit button ๐ฎ
Wait till episode 5-6. Duang changes, and definitely has another side to his character. This is what a lot of…
I actually enjoyed the first few episodes a lot. Loved the well written dialogues between the overreacting obnoxious guy and his emotionless one-word counterpart. You could feel that both actors felt really comfortable and enjoyed defining/exploring their characters. It was superb acting and you simply could not imagine, how these two characters could ever end up together
Congrats to the two main actors who did an outstanding job portraying their characters. Quinn managed to dominate an entire dialogue even with saying just one single word :) Duang did such an amazing job tip-toeing between sweet and giddy to cringeworthy and outright obnoxious. Yes, finally a well written and superbly acted script, that makes you fall in love with the most annoying character.
I don't think this was bad because of the red flags or toxic nature of the characters (it would be fine if done…
I agree that the story had potential, but they never properly developed the character and relationships - very poor script writing - especially the dialogues. That resulted in endlessly stretched out scenes without any meaningful dialogue
Poor script, no proper character development and catastrophically bad dialogues. That resulted in endlessly stretched out scenes with no "meaningful" or character-enhancing dialogue. (8-minutes of Jimmy drinking beer on the fIoor). My "personal" opinion: That show is lucky that 1 star is the minimum you can give.
I understand that this was a low budget student production but really.... couldn't they find a cameraman who knows at least some basics of camera work - almost the entire series is shot too close with actor's heads partly cut off :)
I know..... everybody in here watched this show purely for its interesting story ๐ Plus: High production value, best soundtrack of any BL, really, really hot guys Minus: Story, wigs, acting when they had their clothes on, .....
How should i vote for this ...hmmm... i loved the acting and production, but could have benefited from a professional script writer .....the story had great potential but .... ended with more holes than a Swiss cheese .....ok, I'll discuss with my other personality on how to rate this ๐ฎ
OK i am at episode 4 ... .the first 10 times exchanging goodie bags were OK....now its getting a bit tired....can anybody tell me how many more episodes of exchanging goodie bags so i can get to the next scene ๐
Wow, production wise *camera, sound, location, editing, etc) that show is on a level, no BL has ever reached before. You could literally feel that everyone was aware that this is no everyday BL and gave it there all. Impeccable directing and fantastic acting, that did not end with the main characters. A huge "THANK YOU" to the entire cast for creating this amazing series.
My comments are usually quite critical ...... i needed slow paced, emotional rollercoaster ride and that worked quite well, a solid 10 for camera work and location scouts - I loved it ๐
