To those who are considering dropping this drama simply because the FL won't end up with the character they desire, please be patient (it's only episode 12 so far, and there are also seasons 1 and 2). As I've mentioned before, refrain from making hasty judgments. This drama offers more than just the FL's romantic pairing; there is a much deeper and richer storyline to explore. Even if the FL doesn't end up with the character you root for, there's a reason behind it. Some chose greater responsibility over their love, while others ended up diverging from their original path.

Dropping this masterpiece just because CX is not going to end up with the FL? Seriously? I suggest you continue this series; otherwise, you'll miss out on something special, especially if you're a Chinese costume drama lover. Cang Xuan is not someone I hate entirely because, at some point, my heart aches for him. However, I am annoyed and angry at him for all his misdeeds and bad intentions toward others, especially XY, as he hurts her and breaks their promise (his purpose from the beginning was to protect XY, but he chose the wrong way to do it). He is calculative and manipulative in every step he takes. He uses her to gain power. So, I firmly believe he just doesn't deserve XY.
Everyone has their favorite character, and mine is Xiang Liu. He's my absolute favorite in 'Lost You Forever.' Some people have an issue because the two whole episodes were mostly focused on him and XY, but for me, those two episodes were the most satisfying since they focused on my beloved XL. People may accuse me of being toxic or supporting an abusive character, but I don't care—I love him as this show itself revolves around angst, violence, and bitterness, with only fleeting moments of happiness.

Xiang Liu is a demon who has a traumatic & dreadful past. Throughout his upbringing, he never knew what kindness and care exactly meant unless he meets his adoptive father Gong Gong (general of Chenrong). His life and people have been in danger ever since Chenrong was under Xi Yan's control. Even if he is at the end of his rope, he is still fighting, not because he wanted to play hero but because he wanted to pay kindness to someone who save him once. I have to say that even now, his behavior has already turned from 0 to 180 degrees regarding Xiao Yao.
It was Xiao Yao who broke into the Chenrong area first, a place full of soldiers who are still fighting for their homeland, refusing to surrender. Knowing the danger if someone deliberately barges into such a place, how would you treat them? you ppl are saying things like he beat her even after knowing she was a girl. Why do you think that a girl can't be a spy or an enemy? In my opinion, he was sweet and kind enough to let her go after confirming her identity thoroughly. I am not saying that his ruthless behavior towards Xiao Yao is right, but I don’t think that he is as harsh as you people exaggerate here. And right in these episodes, expecting him to be some kind of nice and gentle guy treating Xiao Yao with just love and puppy eyes is just insane to me.
