Yes, he is the main male lead. Don't worry; he will have plenty of screen time as the plot progresses further. In the first 4 episodes, they took time to introduce each of the main 4 characters, especially episode 1 was dedicated to two main leads (Cang Xuan and Xiao Yao) even if it was their childhood story.
