"Don't be beaten by yourself! Go for it!" That last scene was beautiful. I didn’t expect to love this drama so much, but I do. I really do. It totally took me by surprise. While watching the final episode, all these emotions suddenly came crashing in. I thought, “Huh? I didn’t realize just how much I care about all these characters and how much I was cheering for them.”
In many ways, this drama was like a simple meal that turns out to be so much better than anything fancy or expensive. I'm always thankful when a story manages to reach me like this. I’ll miss the Kishibe household dearly.
Kudos to the screenwriter and the amazing cast (and the whole team, actually). Give this one a try!
Not a lot going on in this comment section, but I’ll give it a try anyway. I’ve watched the first two episodes and, while I thought they were okay (Kiyohara Kaya does seem too young to play an established lawyer, but she's a great actress and the dogs are super cute), I’m still not entirely convinced. A lot of releases I’m looking forward to are coming to Netflix, so I want to be more selective. For those who’ve seen episodes 3 and 4, does it get more engaging in terms of character and relationship development?
I actually liked the first few episodes because I thought it was quite refreshing to have two genuinely scheming leads, plus the potential harem dynamics (more scheming and also the possibility of kinship as women navigating such a cruel world...?), but I was ultimately left disappointed. Getting through the second half of this drama was hard work, and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t drop it. That has actually been the case with some other 2025 C-dramas I watched this year. I don’t finish them out of morbid curiosity so much as feeling emotionally held hostage by how absurd things are able to get. Meanwhile, shows like Nirvana in Fire and The Story of Minglan are just gathering dust in my watchlist lol I don’t understand myself.
I was throughly impressed with Liu Lingzi's portrayal of Meng Zhenzhen, truly a talented actress. I hope she can get some lead roles. I also liked Liu Xueyi as Shen Zaiye, but my interest in his character faded in the latter half of the show. I mean, I liked Jiang Taohua in the beginning too, but as the drama progressed, I found it hard to really connect with the leads. They had good chemistry (sometimes even great, their scenes before episode 18 made me feel like this show still had potential), but it was wasted on a convoluted plot and a scriptwriter who seemingly didn’t know where the story was headed. In fact, none of the characters had proper development. Missed opportunity.
I love this show. It's just such a good production from the directing to the acting... I like everything about it! This is the only drama airing right now that has me anxiously waiting for the next episodes to drop.
I loved this so much. Objectively great, and it also touched me personally, which is what sometimes bumps a drama from a 9 to a 10. Grandma's scenes in the last episode had me rekindling my own memories with a longing heart. What she said also reminded me of a beautiful quote in the book "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara: "(...) Or maybe he is closer still: maybe he is that gray cat that has begun to sit outside our neighbor's house (...) maybe he is that flower that suddenly bloomed on the rhododendron bush I thought had died long ago; maybe he is that cloud, that wave, that rain, that mist."
I watched this week by week with great anticipation. I think it's a story meant to be slowly savoured. Even the side backstories had more heart than some entire drama plotlines. I loved how our characters learned how to be honest with themselves and with each other. I loved its depiction of mental health struggles and the various ways we might find ourselves dealing with them. I loved the script, and I loved the directing. You could tell the writer poured their heart into this drama.
Park Bo-young delivered the performance of a lifetime, and there wasn't a single weak link in the entire cast. I loved all of the supporting characters so much (Mi-rae's a**hole office colleagues excluded)! Easily the best K-drama of the year so far, alongside When Life Gives You Tangerines (I liked OWS better, but that's a matter of preference).
The ending was very satisfying. I was crying, yes, but the tears felt very therapeutic. Perfect from start to finish. I couldn't recommend Our Unwritten Seoul enough. May we all make it our own.
I'm really impressed with Cho Yi-hyun, actually. She's naturally charming and is doing a good job as the main character. I'm really rooting for her. And I love the color grading in this show! So pretty.
I'm not familiar with Koshiba Fuka but she is a superb actress! I wish I hadn't watched the first two episodes though... 🙂↔️ I know the plot, I know what happens, but for some reason, I still feel fidgety. Which, honestly, is a good sign when it comes to a show lol
So far so good! I'd say give it a go, even if you're not usually into J-dramas.
I can't believe this drama has come to an end. I mean, already?! 😭 It feels like it was just yesterday that they released the Jingyi x Yiran photoshoot. I'll take my time with the remaining episodes.
I watched this for Hirose Alice, who is great as usual, though the drama itself could have been much more engaging. Still, it's good enough for a lunchtime watch.
I'm enjoying this show and I think it's full of heart. I'm a bit worried about how the storyline is going to unfold what with the 21-days-to-save-his-life thing but I'm hopeful.
Cho Yi-hyun makes a compelling, likable heroine and she reminds me a bit of Ayase Haruka at times.

10/10
Uchino Seiyou continues to impress me with his range. He's such a great actor.
