I don't think La ik has romantic feelings for Hye Ju. My sense is that he probably sees her as a close hoobeh or younger sister and felt protective of her since they were both trainees. But, she definitely had feelings for him and probably her dad cut things off between them. She probably did something bad and La Ik covered up for her and that's why she's so clingy.

Usually, it's a team of translators. La Ik is closer to the actual pronounciation.

I'm not sure we're watching the same drama. The whole point of the drama is nothing is cut and dry. Everyone is complicated and has history and trauma.

You're making all characters sound so one dimensional--which is definitely not the case.

A lot more is explained or inferred in ep 5. Have you watched it?

We don't have to see eye to eye--and again, I agree with you on some of your points. However, you can put these thoughts in the comments section and hold off on a low rating review to give an ongoing drama a chance until you've watched more of it.

Her obsession and where her money goes is explained in the storyline.

I think what you consider unrealistic and overly dramatic is what I would call irony and sarcastic storyline.

This drama seems to want to bring to light the world of extreme fans and the pains celebrities go through due to sasengs these days. It’s a drama so it doesn’t really need to be realistic. And I’m sure there are plenty of grown up adult fans like Sena somewhere in the world. She supports her idol 100% but also lives an adult life outside of her idol world. Nothing wrong with that. It’s her money, her time and her happiness. She earned it so she can spend it as she pleases. Is it immature? Maybe. But, who’s to judge if she’s supportive and not hurting anyone.

There were quite a few — not as many as preceding years but still decent. The list is attached to earlier comments above.

Most likely the artist did not consent after the song was used. It happens sometimes. Being English lyrics, maybe they had some international contractual issues.

Wait until it’s completed and then just binge it. That way you’re not frustrated waiting for the next episode.

In my opinion, it’s really good from episode 8. But, I don’t recommend ff or skipping the earlier episodes since they are the foundational story of the ML & FL. I admit it was slow and frustrating up til episode 4 or 5. But, that’s intentional.

I’ve been really enjoying the drama from episode 8 and on. Episode 10 was great. The pace is faster and everyone is happier.

I’m not Chinese but have figured out the system somewhat after watching so many dramas.

If you do a little googling, you can easily learn about the nick naming system and adding xiao in front of the name to indicate they are younger and adding -er after the name to indicate kinship, etc.

It’s the culture which we need to learn if we want to watch these dramas. I agree subtitle translations needs clarification. Some good translation teams add translator’s note (T/N) to explain and clarify.

Luckily I can read a few different languages so I switch up the languages to gain clarification as needed.

The whole point of their multiple breakups was because of her relationship with her parents and “the business”. That’s also why she married the jerk in the first place.

Her success in “the business” is key to her (and their) happiness and self-redemption. She’s finally going to take responsibility and not run away or hide as she did before.

She’s finally going to grow up and be an adult.

Who is PKS?

I just got Prime Video recently and I totally agree. And their platform is severely lacking technology and user friendly interface.

Besides, Netflix and Viki, Disney/Hulu also have decent K-content—albeit mostly violent or action dramas.

She’s acting. And, she is doing fine.

I don’t think she really likes him. When she “confessed” to him before, the nuance was not her love confession. It was more of “hey, snap out of it.” She’s more like his older sister. They were both being sarcastic. That’s why Kyung Do can be comfortable with her.

Also, when she confronted Jiwoo, it wasn’t a love rival confrontation. It was a good friend trying to add clarity an inform Jiwoo of what Kyung Do has gone through and things he gave up because of Jiwoo. She saw how low Gyung Do got as he became an alcoholic.

She wasn’t being a b*tch at all and she doesn’t have ulterior kotives.

The characters are not evil in this drama except for the actual villain.

I think his clothes represent his character. If he wears fitting, stylish clothes, he will look too sharp and will not match his character. His wardrobe needs to be different from the “bad” characters like the two husbands.

It’s a slow burn melodrama.
