Another great ep BUT....those product placements are becoming frequent and slowly becoming "forced"The Snacks…
Forced product placements or paid subscription? They gotta put food on the table too.

I like the meta callouts, like the shipped couple who don't have an actual series, the deliberations on casting gay actors, and calling out sexual harassment disguised as BL tropes, to name a few. I usually don't expect much in the way of "wokeness" from Thai BLs, but I hope they continue to do so.

Needless to say, they're all smoking hot and I want them to smash.

Title A Tale of Thousand Stars Spoiler
If you are ok with it I'll give a spoiler. If it follows the novel, it's going to be a happy ending :)
This is one of those rare times where I like the spoiler!! :)

I haven't read the source material for this show, but a lifetime of watching sad gay movies has preconditioned me to think that Tian will probably die at the end of the series. :(

They speak in Northern dialect. In Thailand, we have Northern dialect, North Eastern (E-san) dialect, Southern…
Thank you for replying! So is the Northern dialect the common language in cities like Chiang Mai?

Ah. They used their vast wealth and influence to skip all that jazz.

Does anyone know why some of the characters' (the villagers mostly, and Drake's character) dialogue are subtitled in Thai? I'm guessing it's a dialect, but what dialect are they speaking?

Unfortunately I am not that emotionally invested in this show beyond saying that
#1. Cheating is not right
#2. People cheat

And I'm okay with both existing at the same time.

This show does send a good message about educating and enlightening viewers on LGBT+ issues, but from a character…
At the risk of sounding like a basic stan, I would follow Karl's eyes. For an introvert who was repressing so many things inside him, his eyes said everything his words couldn't.

this seems like a nice ending, should I watch the rest? Does it end tragically? No general spoilers, just wanna…
If you want the traditional "and they lived happily ever after" ending, you can stop at Ep. 6.

If you prefer a realistic ending to the first season of the show, continue until the finale.

haha, can anyone please explain what the "uncanny valley" phenomenon is ? Perhaps I am not of the same generation…
"The concept suggests that humanoid objects which imperfectly resemble actual human beings provoke uncanny or strangely familiar feelings of eeriness and revulsion in observers."

-- This usually applies to robots or animation that is nearly human-like, but not quite there yet. And it freaks people out.

Title My Extraordinary Spoiler
My Extraordinary didn't "bury your gays"...

... they just cremated them instead.

How does watching this as a closeted queer teenager help you? It helps you realize the consequences of NOT being paranoid enough. You're not entitled to your happiness, you're an object lesson to the rest of the world waiting to happen. You'll bury yourself deep in your closet, so deep that you can only escape to Narnia in your dreams. The best thing you can do is die and leave everyone else with survivor's guilt.

We know, okay? WE KNOW it's not safe for us. I didn't need yet another reminder, on national TV no less, that this world is out to get us.

What an exhausting show.
