Honestly, is nobody complaining about the writers portraying Piseang as Jesus? He is just too good to be true.…
I don't think he's happy actually. And I think you're going to get the fallout you're looking for next ep.
I genuinely think that he was just pushing down whatever negative feelings that he has about Kawi this ep because Kawi came to him in a bad place, but I also think that they're clearly there - camera focuses on his face during that second (that we know of) drunk kiss and he doesn't actually seem to be very happy (excellent eyebrow work from Gawin there, much appreciated).
If I were a betting person, I might bet that maybe Kawi makes drunken makeouts a habit and maybe, just maybe, this one is gonna push Pisaeng past being able to pretend to be fine.
I think it's also important to remember that Pisaeng has a history of pushing down how he really feels - his mom put him in the closet when he was 15, remember. I just think we're not getting everything here.
My guess is they fight bad enough for Pisaeng to really truly be done. Death seems like a bit much, tbh, and frankly…
Maybe he's made it a habit to drink, kiss Pisaeng, and then pretend it never happened?
Something made Pisaeng leave in the first place (even if he did make it fairly easy for Kawi to find him again). My guess is that if they fight, it will be related to that.
I just don’t understand why Kawi said to the past Pisaeng that “I thought I will not see you again”. So…
My guess is they fight bad enough for Pisaeng to really truly be done.
Death seems like a bit much, tbh, and frankly would probably just make me laugh because what? I think it would be better both for Kawi's growth and for their relationship if Pisaeng told him to stay away and meant it. Although I guess we'll see.
Well that was a good episode, but I'm still going to need Kawi to go back to the past because we are not leaving Pear in her worst timeline, thank you very much.
Also Kwan, Not sucks. Please find a better person to fall in love with. Like, idk, your BFF Pear? That's a good person to be in love with, I think.
I will post a little bit long reply to explain it. Hope you don't mind reading it to understand how it's going…
Lol, well I am like the one person who watched Not Me and *didn't* imprint on GF but then later watched The Eclipse and was *really* into KF's chemistry, so...I was mostly just curious if that is like, the norm with international fans, of which I clearly am one (to be fair, OffGun did nothing in particular for me either - I stayed with Not Me mostly for the plot (and Todd/Black, my dark horse that could never be 😭)
And yeah even I have noticed that KF are getting the branding stuff, although if they're not that popular at home I don't know if that will matter much in the long run, especially when both of them do very well when paired with others. I know already that GMM is gonna go with what makes them money, and co branding is a tried and true method that brings in the baht. I guess it just depends who's willing to fork over more, lol.
I do remember the SOTUS craze. Wasn't for me, but I remember it. I've also read that Gawin doesn't pair brand (if so, smart man. Good for him if he can get away with it).
I think the whole "danger" thing is just...partially why co branding is probably not the best idea, honestly. I've said it before upthread, but ideally (for me personally) all of these actors would work with each other, with maybe the really good pairs coming back together more often to do a drama. But you never know what crazy chemistry you can get out of your people if you don't have them working all over. And I think that it would make cases like this a lot easier if it were the norm. Of course you'd still have upset fans being weird, but that's everywhere.
But then again, I am coming at this from a country that just doesn't do this. Oh sure, our actors do the whole "we're such friends, everything is great, blah blah blah" thing when they have a show, but once it's over? Eh, they might work together again, might not. Probably won't even stay in touch. So it's a different perspective entirely.
Another question - do the het couples co brand like the BL couples do? I've always wondered but I don't watch a lot of those.
That's sooner than I expected! If it's true I will lose it (in a good way).
Oh is that who posted the tweet? I don't have twitter so I can't actually read them I just have to go what by is here. :D Either way whoever it was has made my day if they're right.
I will post a little bit long reply to explain it. Hope you don't mind reading it to understand how it's going…
I have a question for you since you seem to know a lot about it, hope it's no too rude...
do you know how well these brands do internationally vs. domestically? Like I keep seeing people saying that First & Gawin were infinitely more popular than F & K domestically, but all the people I see say this are international fans! And how does something like Singto and Krist compare with Gawin and Krist now?
If you know, and don't mind getting into the weeds of it, that is. I'm just very curious (mostly as someone who prefers F & K and now Gawin & Krist over the apparently more popular couples (but still feels extremely iffy about pair branding, lol)). Is the brand stuff more intense in Thailand or less?
I will post a little bit long reply to explain it. Hope you don't mind reading it to understand how it's going…
Yes! For example, Moonlight Chicken (which is one of the few BLs I've seen that played around with established couples even if we all knew how it would shake out) made me think that Mix and First could do really well together, possibly Earth and Khaotung too.
And I preferred Khaotung with Neo in Tonhon Chonlatee (don't look at me, I couldn't help it) so I'd like to see them in something, too.
Aw, I hope they get their mafia show. You'd think that it'd be more likely if they didn't make it BL.
ETA: I can't pretend that they didn't strike gold with KF, and I guess from a business standpoint even for them it would be best to stay paired because of the way that the pair branding thing works, since being branded probably means more steady work in lead roles, at least while they're a popular pair. I just feel like it would be good to split them (and others) up on occasion to see what else might gel.
I will post a little bit long reply to explain it. Hope you don't mind reading it to understand how it's going…
I'm not sure using FK as an example works, because weren't they also doing their best to see it happen? At least that's the impression I got.
To be fair though, I try to pay very little attention to this stuff as I'm not really a fan of the way Thailand does its pair branding. I feel like it can stifle actors who might do better with someone else.
Ideally, I'd like it if they mixed things up a bit more. No branding as such that people start to think of that couple as the "only" pairing for each other, even if there are pairs that work together more oft than not. Of course, I know it's not going to change because it works so well to bring in revenue and people who ship like that will probably do it regardless of encouragement, but a person can dream.
I thought this the way through the show as well, but then I realised by the end that he lost trust in Korn after…
Very late reply and you might not care anymore but I think it's mostly that Win is a bit of a hothead. At first he felt that Korn had betrayed him by not telling him about the shares (because he clearly knew that it was coming), and then because Korn didn't say anything one way or the other (I think because he didn't want to out mom as being the orchestrator of the whole thing and she was also keeping mum), it just spiraled.
Also remember Win was already feeling some kind of way about Korn and Lin at the funeral and had just argued with his aunt and uncle who were clearly only hanging around for the reading of the will.
And then because Win kicked Korn out and Korn didn't talk, all Win had was his own head and unfortunately he apparently is blind and can't see the way Korn looks at him so he started to think that Korn had only been coming around for one thing, and it wasn't Win.
Very emotion based rather than logic based, but Win isn't really that logical so it tracks.
Gawin and Krist are such a good match. I have seen Gawin in DBK and Not Me. In both roles he didn't impress me…
I've only seen him in Not Me, but I agree, I barely noticed him. But I have accepted I am in the minority there! :D Still, thought you might like knowing that someone agrees with you.
He really is impressing me here, I don't know if it's that he has more to do or that he works better for me personally in a role like this, where he can mix comedy and light in with the heavier stuff, but whatever it is I feel like I'm finally seeing what everyone else sees and it's great.
Only Friends seems to be filming fairly slowly. I think we'll get this first, and then Only Friends in the final…
I'm actually having way too much fun with the OF speculation right now, and I know once we get the official trailer it'll probably do away with a lot of it. So in a weird way I'm kinda happy in limbo right now.
But as for Dangerous Romance, I just want it to get here. It's one of the dramas I was looking forward to the most this year, and their filming schedule has been moving at a good clip, enough so I am tentatively hopeful we'll see a trailer for it in July.
