just finished episode 13 and it is past midnight. should i go on or sleep? Why is this so goood!!! it is taking my sleep away. I need to secure coffee for tomorrow.
Just finished episode 12.. my love and attachment to this series is getting deeper. I wish this was extended to 20 episodes. There was so much going on. The people of the queen dowager are slowly falling neatly on our queen's side. I can see that the crown princess will be following the footsteps of our queen :D I miss the other princes and the comedic relief whenever they are on screen. Gaah, I want to see more of the family, even the late crown prince's son and wife.
when will we have a top tier drama again when this ends this weekend? :(
Really good analysis of the queen. I felt like she is winning people overtime slowly. Everyone that queen dowager…
yes2, I really like it that she is letting the enemies turn against each other, while she is winning people over her side along the way :) hoping to see a union of queens versus the queen dowager. hehehe this set up never fails to remind me of sky castle. -moms versus the evil tutor. hehehe.
I have hold the last episode for so long because I did not want to part with this drama yet.
what I discovered after the hiatus and filling it with other romcoms (with handful of cringe west romcom movies) is that, with jdramas (romance and sol), it can still be borderline fantasy tag (the cases are rare to impossible in real life), but also, because Japanese portrayals of ordinary people are just a chef's kiss ,that I can't help running my mind wander that somewhere out there, sometime through the years, these stories could happen in real life.
why is this getting better each episode? because we see how much is the struggle, but also, we get to witness how she is satisfyingly winning. we empathize with the pain, and that is why we also get to share the victory.
this was not a mere underdog story where we wait for happy ending, but it is a story of a queen. She is strong because she has a lot of people to protect. She is a queen who has people under her umbrella. and episode 9 revealed that it was not only her sons, nor the people who work in her chambers, but even the girls in the shelter, and eventually, the whole nation. She is little by little owning all the more her title as queen.
the drama is still going strong and keep my interest in the maximum. our queen's charm is still unparalleled and Chani's character is still despicable. I can't imagine a king who kills to manipulate someone just ultimately for his greed. aggghhhh! and don't get me started with the queen dowager! they did a great job casting great actors/ress for villain roles!
I have been watching in 1.50 or 1.75 speed for at least 10 dramas in a row now, but Under the Queen's Umbrella made me watch it to normal speed again. The suspense it brings so one needs more time to savor their expressions :D
Gosh, it's the queen family vs everyone in the palace. It seems so impossible for them to survive in that cruel…
The Queen's Umbrella: when we saw the poster, we thought it was just about one prince, but then the earlier episodes made us realized that she has 5 sons under her umbrella, and now, it is getting bigger with the crown princess and her grandson.
a graceful figure that younger ladies aspire to be as they grow older.
Can we stop the evil mother-in-law and or increase more lovely mothers in general :D
Also a non-villain Chani. hehehe. the rage and hate is just so on top in this one. this just means that he is that convincingly good, right?
I can see that the crown princess will be following the footsteps of our queen :D
