I'm very biased, but for me XL act cold , harsh, but he only one who actually care about her happiness. He not perfect as all other characters, he demon after all🤣 but he never promised her anything, but saved her multiple times , and did everything that her dream be protected , have place to go and have partner become true. At the same time, he always give her choice, and make everything she not feel she own anything to him.

Like same moment when CX kidnapped her, XL came to save her, one words from XY and no one can't stop him, but he let XY deside will she go with him or not.

But what about CX, he talking about protect XY, care about XY, but he can't even let her have a bit happiness she want for herself

Jing, also talking how he always will be with XY, XY choose him as someone who can't live without her, who will do everything to be with her, but at the end of the day it's XY who will do all work and fight for this relationship.

Like when she try escape from CX at the beginning, and Jing promised to help her, but it's her need back to save him, or after peach assassination, it's her again need bring him back to life, then again save him from his marriage.

Second some words about love , endless conversation 🤣🤣🤣

XY has 3 main persons in her life, all she need it's to have companion, she even not care about love that much, but have someone to be with and who will not die after 100 years , I understand her personality, she has a lot flaws, but I think with her, and with everyone else important not what people say, but what people do.

And with XY she always protect and care about CX, Jing and XL, for CX she did the most , she gave up her carefree life, her possibility live freely with person she love (no matter who you believe it is 17 or XL), CX so greedy for her love, but she gave him biggest love she ever can give anyone, its family love, romantic love can fade one day, but family it's forever. With Jing she did almost all work, so they can end up together. With XL no matter what she said , she also always protect him, was ready give him her blood, even after he act cold, tried kill her brother multiple times, she never can hate him, and till the end she want him be happy and free

Important disclaimer, it's my opinion! Just how I feel and see the story.
For me first arc in the village still the best, I love WXL character so much and prefer her to XY anytime, she was so smart , witty, brave.
That time everything was simple and memorizing..

Honestly I lost a lot interest after story focused on CX try gain throne, I feel like drama become more about him then XY, and XY as his companion and aide, I don't like political dramas, and that kind kinda simple (boring) and predictable in all that power struggles, in new episodes I feel the same, I just not care about all that uncles, concubines and so on, see XY in mountain in simple clothes cooking was so much more joyful for me , but then again CX!! I like his character, I just not interested in his arc and don't like that it's main focus.

I think she sad because 2 people she likes can't be with her, and even her brother
And probably the fact that Jing left her, person who promised be always with her, triggered her trauma

She will end up with Deng Wei character, with main character there no romance, they like brother and sister, even if he later fell for her, it's very complicated story

Probably because of what happened with his daughter, XY mom, so now he try make story not repeat itself
