From the spoilers I saw of the novel, they did change A LOT tho. Like Saijo was supposed to end up with Sakamoto and get married to him. Also, rather than a lightning Naoki jumped off a moving car to get away from Isagi and I feel like that gave more desperation in Naoki. Also there was a whole problem with Yukino doing something with one of Naoki's songs that did happen ( i didn't understand that a lot since i was google translating a japanese site).
I'm near the end of episode 3 and omg this manager is so annoying!!! like who the F do you think you are? she even locked Akane. They really need to find out and kick her out.
