I don’t think I realised how much I missed this. I loved season 1, but im the type of Kdrama fan who disagrees with the existence of multiple seasons - so I almost didn’t watch this, but I’m so glad I did - the first 2 episodes were a brilliant story of the team coming back together and it still included all my favourite parts of season 1, Kim Do Ki undercover (as multiple characters), the genuinely heartbreaking stories of people needing help, the incredible fight sequences and the love that this team has for eachother (I forgot how wonderful and hilarious kyung goo and Ji Eons friendship is) I’m so excited for more! I missed these characters!
another week and I still am in love with this. Maybe it’s because I’m usually a person who doesn’t enjoy…
that one shot in episode 5 of the fight scene in that tiny room - such an awesome shot. I hope the director continues being a little more experimental- there are a few more instances and they’re alwYs stand out moments for me!
I’m terrible with recognising places - where is this set? I feel that huge bridge should be a clue - but I have zero idea - I spent the first half wondering why they kept asking if people were Thai before realising they aren’t in Thailand
the mother situation was even more emotional in the drama than in the manga. That moment Ritsu took Masumis blame and guilt, was such beautiful moment brought to life. In the manga we had also learned about Ritsus upbringing by this point and it was a bit of insight into why he’s how he is and I really hope they won’t skip that in this series. And we are officially going into Vol.2 of the manga! we are getting the introduction of such an interesting character and this is also the beginning of unearthing some more of Ritsus character. I’m so interested to see how people feel about him at the end!
I assume this will be out towards the latter half of the year considering the director is currently working of 2 series that I’m pretty sure aren’t even in postproduction yet. The most ambitious of the 2 won’t be out until the summer, so I’d assume he’ll start this after.
I’ve never seen Tay play a cheerful character who is head over heels in love - the characters I’ve seen him play have always been hurt or moody, and although Kurosawa has been hurt he doesn’t let it define him after meeting Adachi. I’m so intrigued to see if Tay can pull this off because it’d be a whole new side of him I’d like to see.
i just feel like the editing in this is so messy! This first episode could’ve been told in such a clear way but everything felt rushed or in a weird order - like I thought they’d already slept together before the start of the series because of how they edited it, but then that was actually a flash forward - and they could’ve fixed that confusion so easily. It’s just frustrating, because the cast did a really good job for a first episode. And I feel like if they gave their scenes more time to breathe James and Nets scenes would work even better with their fabulous chemistry. But I did completely fall in love with Yims, Jade here - he is perfectly encapsulating this adorable weirdo - also his character actually fits with the quick crazy editing and I can see it working well for Middlemans Love, but Bed Friend is more dark and serious - it needs to strip things back and give its actors and their scenes more time. I could see myself really loving this - I hope the editing gets better as it goes!
I really liked this - I loved Becky and Freens chemistry and acting - I also loved the scenes with the friend group- they were always extremely entertaining. But I felt about this the same way I feel about most romance series - it really started dragging for me towards the end - I kind of wish we had spent some more time seeing Tee and Yuki fall for each other - I would’ve liked a proper second couple storyline or more of a driving central plot to keep me loving this. That’s just a personal preference though - I always end up getting bored when a full length series is just about 1 couples love story and some episodes are clocking in at over 1hr15mins. Still this was good and just made me want more GL series!
that first episode…I have no words! it was so perfect. It’s completely overflowing with this heartbreaking feel, but it still feels like it’s going to be so beautiful. I’m just starting to think that this might be one of those dramas where I know the sad endings coming and even what that sad ending will be, but I refuse to acknowledge that and then it gets to the final episode and I’m in shock sobbing even though I always knew how it’d end - that’s exactly what happened with Eternal Yesterday for me!
I feel like they’ve achieved the epic soulmates love story with the leads they were aiming for - it was their acting in episodes 8/9 that just completely sold that for me. Ponds acting has really improved throughout the series especially - Q1 for them was the ep1 pool scene and comparing that to the island scenes and ep9 he’s completely stepped up him game. Also I’m really enjoying Ben and Choppers scenes (I was initially a little worried that I didn’t feel any chemistry between them, but I definitely do now) I’ve seen Chimon in darker roles so I knew he could handle them, but Perth was always the adorable, charming romcom boy to me and I have to say seeing him in this darker more mature role it really suits him now he’s older.
I think I’m gonna hold off on watching this - just because with My School President ending so soon I know I’m gonna miss seeing GeminiFourth on my screen and so having this to go to will be the perfect thing!
I know no one seems to like this, but I’m so in love with it (I feel like I say this in every comment section on MDL) so much here is working for me! the sismance is on a whole new level, Myung Jin and Ga Rams bizarre friendship and experiments are so entertaining, love the adorable relationship between the princes and princess, and the the 2 eunuchs have the potential to bring some great humour as this continues - they made me cackle in ep4! And most importantly the leads!!! I personally feel their level of chemistry is actually INSANE. When they interact on screen it’s pure magic - I turn back into a teen, I’m constantly a second away from giggling and squealing. I love how their relationship has developed over the past 4 episodes and their blossoming friendship is so adorable - the Apple, the smiles - they’re too cute and I’m so excited for YiHwan to finally have someone he trusts and to see their friendship grow stronger and grow into romance!
I wasn’t into this after episode 1 - it took me 3 days to finish just that episode, but I still carried on and episode 3 changed everything and I ended up binging the rest in 1 day! I loved the entire cast in this! The leads were so adorable - once they started being all coupley I couldn’t help but squeal more than a few times - also has to be one of the healthiest and most mature relationships in a kdrama ever! The side couple didn’t work for me though - i loved their characters separately - their sismance and bromance were fantastic, but I’ve never liked the whole plot of being in love with someone just because of how hot they are. But this is a very fun and cute drama - definitely would recommend.
I loved season 1, but I can hardly remember what happened - and now they’re saying villains from season 1 are returning that I barely remember… I need like an hour long recap to fill in everything I’ve forgotten 😂
Having both Fluke and Thor in this, but not as a pairing should be a crime. Their chemistry in The Warp Effect is actually INSANE! I’m sure Ohm will win me over but I’m still excited for the potential of more ThorFluke as even just friends.
Yeah and the best thing is that it's a slow burn romance. I'm tired of the "love on first sight" trope in sageuks.
YES! Love at first sight is the number one thing that has made me drop so many sageuks. But here the anger in Yi Hwans eyes when he looks at her is such a breath of fresh air that shows this slow burn will take a while to get going!
nothings happening with him and his military service right? I know they said they were re-examining and then prosecuting celebrities that had lied about the severity of their epilepsy. And Chae Jong Hyeop is one of the few artists that has recently said he’s currently exempt due to his epilepsy. He’s one of my newer favourites so I really hope nothing happens.
I really wanted the long triangle to end up with the 2 boys being besties considering Hae Yi doesn’t seem that interested in either of them and in ep9 my hopes were answered - that is one adorable bromance they’re building there!
