Like everyone else i agree that the first story was by far the best, but I'm actually enjoying the third. Everything in it is so over dramatized and all the characters are a new level of messy - i'm not saying that its good, but I am having fun watching it, whereas with the second story i was so bored i watched the majority of it in 2x speed.
I don’t understand how this drama does this!? This is a short drama - and when I’m this invested in the leads - I should be annoyed that we spent a whole episode on a side characters back story. But I am so unbelievably happy episode 5 was all about Tsubasa. This was truly such a beautiful episode, I cried throughout, but I loved every minute. This drama isn’t doing any of the tropes that usually make me love a drama, but this is my favourite drama I’m watching currently.
I dislike the father almost more than Chan- he doesn’t care about either of his sons. If Tian he told his father the truth I think he would definitely cast him out. The only time I’ve seen the father show him any sort of love it was him trying to manipulate Tian into revealing his secret. And the way he treats Yang is just appalling. Also Bua is getting on my nerves (at this point it feels like she loves Yang, and not Tian) - she’s so into finding out the truth that she’s well aware could seriously hurt Tian, but she’s open to telling the father about what they’re looking for! Yes, Yang is looking for the truth with her but he knows not to tell everyone what they're looking for - he’s trying to find the truth and protect Tain. I just feel so bad for Tian - everyone either wants to kill him or to change him - thank goodness he has Yang and potentially Jiu!
I have been watching lots of Thai, Japanese and Taiwanese dramas recently but I haven’t been watching many Korean dramas at all lately - I think I’ve been in a Kdrama slump - because I haven’t fallen completely in love with one in a long time, but I slected this one randomly - I’d always avoided it because I thought it was going to be too painful to watch. And oh my goodness (I’ve only seen episode 1) I’m completely obsessed with this! that first episode is so perfect! it’s made me remember why I started watching kdramas and why I love them so much. I haven’t wanted to stay up all night watching a drama in so long - I feel my slump may be ending! thank you Just Between Lovers. Also I always forget the charisma and charm Lee Jun Ho brings to his roles and then he appears on screen for a second and I remember why he’s one of my Dramaland faves.
I remember when this was airing there was a to. of buzz around it, but I think I was watching too many dramas at the time. I’m tempted by this - is it as good as the comments make it seem?
I find that lakorns like these aren’t fun to binge watch because it’s a lot of repetitive drama and arguments, but I’m really enjoying certain aspects of this so I’m trying to get through the first 6 episodes so that after that I can watch it week by week, but it’s been a bit of a struggle to binge these 6 because Chan and Li say variations of the same things every episode! But I’m on 5 out of the available 6! I’m gonna make it and then I can really enjoy this drama!
this is such a good time to watch! the dating reality show setting is so fun and unique! I’m obsessed with the leads chemistry too! everything in this drama just works so well for me!
I love that although the leads spend very little time together face to face their story and romance still feels so special. Its a credit to the writer and the cast- the casting is so perfect because with this type of comedy it’s essential that you have actors that can do the BIG jdrama overacting and these 2 leads definitely can, but in their quieter more personal scene these 2 leads are so wonderfuly subtle and real, it’s such a credit to them that they are able to do both so perfectly. And can we all just keep going on about how the phone call in episode 4 was everything, so heartwarming! I cant believe we are halfway through already - Im excited to see the boys keep growing and keep support eachother in that growth as they fall in love!
I’ve not really enjoyed MBS’s last few BLs so I thought that even though this has a sad premise it wouldn’t affect me too much because I probably wouldn’t be too attached to it. But I think I’ve made a big mistake! - that first episode was brilliant - I find both of the leads really intriguing, the writing quite beautiful and it visually cinematic. Why is is MBS’s one sad BL that’s the one I know I’m going to be obsessed with!?
i keep on starting to write essay long post’s explaining why I think this series is perfect and why I think these characters are the best written characters in a long timr and why I think Santas performance is one of the best of the year, but then I delete them because everyone that’s watching this knows how beautiful, emotionally rich and incredible this series is
everything just happened in ep5!!! I’m so excited that the reality show has started. I’m even up for the potential love triangle with Jae Hoon having a romance on the show and hopefully behind the scenes with him and Yeo Reum getting romantically closer!
this gets better each episode!!! I feel weird saying this considering how brilliantly wacky and over the top the comedy is, but these 2 leads are some of the most painfully real and true lead characters I’ve seen in a BL in a while. this is wonderful!
I’m finding Y Idol the easiest storyline to watch so far. New Ship was seriously good, with 2 incredible lead performances, but it was so so dark from start to finish that I found it hard to get through. And I never really got into War of Managers, didn’t love the characters and the plot annoyed me too much, bit the twist was fun. But with Y Idol whilst it has darker elements it’s not yet dark enough that I need to mentally prepare myself before watching it, the storyline and setting are interesting and engaging and I’m intrigued by the characters, currently I feel like I really understand Peek, but Kla im still figuring out. it’s the first time I’m actually looking forward to the next episode of this whole series! New Ship is so good I don’t know if it can be beaten, but Y Idol is looking like a contender! one thing is - I wish they were clearer about what is being filmed and what isn’t - I wish they’d explained the filming situation a little, clearly there aren’t cameras in every room in the house constantly filming, but there was at the pool? Also I feel like training would be being filmed, but it’s not? and Dew with those stuffed toys is so so distracting and stupid - makes me lose it every time!
this writer always delivers on what I want! all her projects have a similar warm comforting vibe, with just that little bit of trauma - and I eat them all up! so happy she teamed up with this director again too!
I was seriously not a fan of Kissable lips and so I’m so surprised by how much I absolutely loved the first 2 episodes of this! I’m so in! this is the slow burn hate to love story including a ridiculous spoilt chaebol that I’ve been looking for!
I went into this expectating to see 2 people who actually 100% see each other as just-friends, but what I’ve got instead is basically a married couple and surprisingly I’m not disappointed about that- they’re adorable!
this is so so special! From the premise this seems like a BL we’ve seen countless times, but there really hasn’t been one like this before. It’s just got this magic and nostalgia to it - New has outdone himself here - certainly a step up from UWMA and a huge step up from his gmmtv series this year. In opinion definitely one of the most underrated dramas of 2022 - such a gem. I’m so glad I started watching this thinking I wouldn’t make it more than 5mins but months later I’m so emotionally invested that I’ve shed a ridiculous amount of tears over this stunning series!
Also I always forget the charisma and charm Lee Jun Ho brings to his roles and then he appears on screen for a second and I remember why he’s one of my Dramaland faves.
