Depends on what you want from a drama.
imo, MoGA and RtS, one isnt better than the other, it is just more of a plot and romance in RtS and MoGA is more of a romance with a plot, y'know, also, better "acting" in a way, not that they acted bad in MoGA but it is more emotional, deep and mature in RtS but in MoGA, it is more comedic, romantic with a somewhat serious plot, this is my opinion tho, i personally love both, it works for different preferences, but if you want to watch it, go right ahead, it doesnt hurt to try it, if it isnt interesting to you, then at least you know you tried it, who knows, maybe it becomes one of your tops! also, ancy deng's acting has improved alot since MoGA, it looks like it comes more natural for her in RtS, i mean she was 20-21 when filming started and wrapped, she has come a long way! so, to me, they are both great dramas, it just depends on what you are looking for and what your preferences are at the moment...try it, to me it was worth it, happy watching!!

Nice review. To me, every character is realistic, whether good or bad, or grey. The choices they made, depending…
yes, this is so true, i never thought one was just a good person and one a bad person, if you know about the chinese customs, beliefs or situations concerning death of each era, almost everything they did was "acceptable" for that time...even if it was a bit wrong, in their eyes, they were just trying to live and survive

so i pulled an all-nighter for this, i must say i was very pleased with the pacing and the plot, the first half…
i put my review as a spoiler because im not sure if my review of saying the first, middle and last half gave to much away as i was breaking the drama into 3 parts, saying what each part feels like when you watch it

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
so i pulled an all-nighter for this, i must say i was very pleased with the pacing and the plot, the first half was really good and heart-warming (in a way), then the middle part was very overwhelming but not where it is unwatchable, just the right amount of love and anxiety to keep you intrigued and on your toes, then the last part, while it was a bit angsty, it is really well done (in my opinion), overall, i give this a 9.5/10, the .5 that isnt there is because i felt it ended to soon, i know some people didnt like the way it was put together and i see it but if you can get past it and really try the show, it'll be worth it in the end, for me, it was fulfilling and worth it! please give it a try :)

Regarding script, production, direction, and acting, this one is far better. While Melody of Golden Age is more…
thank you, so ep 30-33 is the angsty bit but everything starts to turn around after 33 even if it is just a little bit, like everyone who did bad gets what they deserve in the last 3 episodes?

im am about to get the wetv subscription in like a couple minutes but i wanted to come on here and ask, is it worth it? i watched MOGA a long time ago and i just recently rewatched it for this drama specifically, ive been putting it off so i wouldnt have to wait for the episodes but then i saw that people were saying the second half wasnt as great as the first half so could yall spoil it for me and tell me when it gets too much about politics and what episodes arent interesting so i can skip or fast forward them, please and thank you!!

is it just me or when the OST plays in good scene, it feels so good but once, that song plays in a sad or angsty scene, whenever you rewatch it the show again and come across the song from the angsty scene in a good scene, the good scene just hits different...i dont know if that makes sense

i love how everyone came back or is barely catching on because of their new project together, lol! but, you should watch MOGA first so, you can get a feel for their chemistry, IMO but, this really is my favorite comfort show right now, im not sure why, maybe because of their new drama, but i had not seen this drama since last year, and now im rewatching it the full drama for the 3rd time in 2 weeks, im lowkey embarrassed because of how many times but, it really is that good if you can get past the weird slow-mos and frequent sound effects, lol!

On Love You Seven Times Aug 14, 2026
so...i've been rewatching this series over and over again because i just can't get enough of it. but, if i had to say my favorite part in the whole series has to be...when chu kong says, "i've finally found you, xiangyun." like the way ding yuxi's voice dropped in a not so cold voice when he said xiangyun but, then picked it back up after he finished saying just that one word, xiangyun, just makes me happy because if you've watched it multiple times, you know what happens and how chu kong used to be. It just shows that chu kong's soul never forgot her. i just had to say this because i wasnt sure if it was just me who noticed this, but i wish ya'll happy watching because this drama is just such a comfort watch if you can get behind the angst bits, even though those parts dont last that long, but still, watch this if you have a chance because i almost didnt watch this masterpiece because of some reviews i read. dont worry about the good or bad reviews, just try it, trust me, it is definitely worth it!!
