Beautiful, beautiful show.

This movie doesn't really follow a typical start-to-finish narrative it's moreso a “look at the journey of” these two people. Because of this some might find it boring but personally I ended up loving it- mostly because of the leads and the wonderful/sweet relationship that develops between them.

Don't be misguided by the posters or plot descriptions this movie is NOT about cheating.

I first watched this back in 2020 and still find myself thinking about it every so often. Always recommend!(Kim Ki Duk you are not missed).

I totally agree. Recently started watching because I saw my netflix is removing it next month and wow has it been dreadfully slow. Each point you made mirrors how I’ve felt while watching to a T!

What was the controversy?

I suggest giving Jang Hyuk's “Bad Papa” a try! Family centered like this but much better in my opinion.

For something else in the spy-genre realm: 100% watch “Good Casting”! Action spy comedy which is very much what Family was trying to do, but done fantastically!

If I remember correctly “My Secret Terius” has a spy plot with a family centered dynamic as well.

And I will say “Vincenzo” does a good job at balancing serious and funny stuff, which I mentioned Family fails at horribly.
