They were raised together but he is not blood related
of course but he was there before she was even born. she grew up thinking that was her real brother and he literally helped raise her since she was a newborn. it's weird no matter what.
started this for esther bc shes's one of my all time favs, but i just couldn't get past all the sibling references. i really tried to pretend like they were childhood friends or something but the writers wouldn't let me forget they used to be brother and sister!! unfortunately have to drop at ep14 :(. he yu is a looker though, i'll be keeping an eye out for his future projects.
this was gas omg. i was not expecting all that to go down in the second half. genuinely good actors and a decent script. given like 4-8 more episodes, they could have fleshed out the palace politics a little more but the romance was done quite well in the time they had. some of the dialogue had me genuinely gagged, like ep8 bridge scene i will never forget you. such an easy binge and the ending moved me for sure. might be back for a rewatch!
i feel like you could say this is objectively bad, esp the second half. in classic c-historical fashion, it dragged for ages and was incredibly rushed at the end. it's getting hard to expect anything else out of dramas these days. nevertheless, the characters in this show are so dear to me and im genuinely going to miss them for ever and ever. will definitely have to rewatch this someday.
Er no. I thought he was so so pretty but so stiff/ wooden as in facial features and emoting. If I write more people…
i totally see where you're coming from. this is def a very common trope, but despite that, i actually felt that his character felt the most real out of everyone in the show because the writers definitely took the most time exploring his backstory. i didn't like him either, i was just making a comment about the writing. and yes kangle is so pretty!
so funny to me that people kind of unanimously agree that chu zhao was the best written character and that kangle was one of the best actors out of this whole thing. kangle i will be watching out for your new projects
totally agree with you! it was hard to form an emotional connection to the characters for the reasons you listed.…
this is a case solving drama, but the driving force of shen wan's character was her wanting to get justice for her parent's deaths. that doesn't really happen imo. also yes im looking forward to lotfg!
In the first scene of the drama, we were introduced to Shen Wan's parents, as well as Qin Wan's father, murdered…
totally agree with you! it was hard to form an emotional connection to the characters for the reasons you listed. i also wished they had focused more on the FL's revenge and had her show more raw emotions.
I watch(ed) both and see no similarities. The cases, the story, the characters… all different. Not even the…
i just watched the episodes about the case at the mysterious inn. this is actually soo similar to a case they solved in dhr. in dhr it was puppets at the inn, but in cd it's organ transplants.
