After ep4, it’s a sealed deal. This and "Yumi's Cells 3" are the best ongoing dramas right now, though…
I totally 1000% agree with you @MelodiaMaverick on these 2 dramas. Ignore the other folks who say otherwise LOL. We could use more humor with a dash of romance in our lives right now - with the craziness going on in the world. So I am really grateful to these 2 shows for giving me a bit of respite from RL and a few giggles and heart flutters as well. Both are well written and not the usual run of the mill plot. I think both KGE and SHS are at the stage in their careers where they can afford to try more interesting scripts and take risks - and thank goodness for that. I am also looking forward to the Wonder Fools with Park Eun Bin and Cha Eun Woo. He of course for the adonis looks and she is also another actress who doesn't pick run of the mill scripts.
Another thing I noticed is that if you’re good at a certain character you will keep getting villain scripts.
Or rom coms - type casting is real. I think that's why some actresses are stuck in roles even when they have kinda out grown those - especially more so in C drama.
It must be so fun for all the actors who have their character cells drawn just for them as a memory to take with them post production. Yumi's cells will always be Kim Go Eun's and SunRok's Kim Jae Won's. Wished I had my own custom set of cells and village LOL. Also watching some of the cast interviews - tickled by how much bubblier & lively the real Kim Jae Won is compared to his character and it's Kim Go Eun who seems the quieter one by comparison.
He's the first actor to come around that has the looks on the level of Won Bin so yeah, I can understand the hype even if I never did finish Pursuit of Jade as it just did not interest me. Need more than looks - must be able to act LOL for me to be willing to stay the course over so many episodes. But cannot deny he is very good looking - those cheekbones!
Friends, for those of us dreading Monday and the end of this wonderful series, Filing for Love just started its run - and is quite funny in a different way. Stars Shin Hye-Sun with amazing comedic timing - this time in modern office setting. There's also a reversal of roles where the FL is the "cold-hearted, domineering boss" and the ML is the eye candy/low ranked but kinda rebellious "damsel" - so far done really well and had me cracking up. Really good satire as well of Korean work culture.
I wasn't expecting a ruthless love cells so him actually being a surgeon made me laugh so much. Its so on point…
Same here. I was really curious about what his love cell would be like and "surgeon" was not what I expected - agreed it was so apt and funny. Everything in this drama is so well written, especially the cells. I will really miss this wonderful series once it's over.
I absolutely love the cells concepts the lovely village setups and scenes mimicking the persons external world…
Yes, I too loved SunRok's village. It's so beautiful and subtly shows that inner beauty is something to be valued. There is a lot under the surface of people (especially the quiet ones) that we gloss over and never take the time to find out/understand. Def going to rewatch this series a few times to savor all those little details. Agreed, very lovingly done too.
Nobody bats an eye when the male lead is 14 15 years older than the FL? Glad Kdramas are casting older female…
Agreed! I am so happy that my favorite actresses are not cast aside as they get into their 30s - Kim Go Eun, Shin Hye Sun, Park Bo-young, and many others. I want to enjoy their work for a long time so who cares if they are paired with younger MLs? None of them look their age anyway.
I start to wonder if a season 4 is to be expected. I don’t envision how they gonna wrap up everything in 2 hours.
I hope so! I would love if they could do a series on their dating/married life and maybe speak to potential challenges in age difference because that is a topic glossed over with the "happily ever after". But then it would probably mean original content outside of webtoon so probably no rights from original webtoon writer. So sadly chances are low here.
The fight scene in the flower field was hilarious. Love that they made it more "realistic" as to how 2 nerds might fight. Also it is too short for them to develop the love to marriage arc in only 2 episodes. I want to see more of SunRok's cell village - its such a cool looking place and it feels like there is so much depth to him than meets the eye. I am going to have to rewatch episodes even before this drama ends.
So I didn't understand what the FL and his ex (the VP's secretary) mean when they both said he is ideal for the PM role? Was it because he is reputed to be a f-boy (given how he is so popular with the women in ep 1) or bcoz in spite of his alleged "reputation" he is a goody two shoes at heart? I do love the quick family setup where he's "hen-pecked" at home with 3 older sisters LOL which so explains how he views his new boss as well. Seems like we will learn the real reason she put him in Team 3 and I doubt it's because she caught him in the stairwell or doesn't like him (since we are only seeing it all from his POV). I also think she likes to tease him to bring him down a notch or two. I can relate as I do that in my workplace with cocky male colleagues - although not so in your face as she does but that's drama. This drama is so well crafted. Such a satire of Korean workforce culture. I love the scene where he tries to recall if it was her back he saw and it pans to all the women wearing the same work "uniform". When I visited Seoul and did some people watching, it cracked me up that EVERYONE dressed in white, black and if there was color, beige or baby blue. The only people who were colorful were the retired ajummas and ajusshis in the park who dressed to the nines in all kinds of colored athleisure for exercising in the park. LOL.
So far a great show of course you have the Queen herself SHS and I also like 2ML. Not familiar with ML but hey getting much more with that dressing room scene LOL. He's seriously buff. Love the role reversal where the FL is the cold-hearted boss and the ML is eye candy. I know SHS has done serious drama but nothing tops it for me above Mr Queen. She has comedic timing down like no one else in the industry. And the nicknames for everyone in the office - especially his new teammates in Team 3. White blood cell LOL.
