The story got potentional but overall it was disappointing

I'm not sure whether the drama plot is based on sth, it had some potentional but it was totally ruined by the bad acting and directing. Moreover the whole story is full with holes and things that make no sense, especially the last 3 episodes. They got those superpowers that we almost never see in action and in the end 5 of them got killed by a bunch of thugs which totally belittle the whole story. No character development whatsoever, no plot twists, too much product placement. We have more time for face mask ads than anything else. So 5 for the potentional of the story and the fun moments in it, I laughed quite a lot at some of the episodes, but the rest is no-no.

Precious life lessons

It's been a long time since I last gave a drama 10 stars but here we are. Misaeng is a true gem that brings both stress and relief to your soul in your hardest moments. This drama caught me in some of my difficults periods of my life and gave me so much strenght, helped me deal with stress and insecure thoughts I've been having for such a long time about my place in my life, about my life path, my goals and my journey. There are two characters that warmed my heart and made me proud even though they're roles but I do believe that we need more people like them in this world. One of them is undoubtedly Han Suk Yool. The very best symbol of kindness, fragility, dignity and loyalty and I absolutely adored him. I love people like him in real life and I couldn't help but love him in the movie as well. Byun Yo Han did such an amazing job with his role and I'm rarely impressed.
Oh Sang Shik is the other character that is sharing the same moral values as me and that reasurred me that this is totally fine. It's just that life's more difficult that way. He's the type of a mentor that every person needs in life, and who will lead you to the right path and he will do it without any back thoughts.

The drama touches on so many important topics humanity needs to think about everyday because all those things are just a huge burden for all of us. Apart from all of it, Misaeng is a great example of the typical korean lifestyle, the hierarchy culture and the excessive stress that it leads to, especially for those who work in big companies.

Mediocre story with quite suffocating and hypocritical characters

I'm giving 6 stars only for the outstanding acting, especially of the FL and Han Kefei but the rest was so burdening, toxic and suffocating, it was sometimes hard for me to keep watching it from episode 5 till the end. I had the feeling that there is no sane person in this whole drama. First, Gao Zi Yuan just had no limits. I understand that her character was probably supposed to be like that but after 3-4 hysterical episodes she was too much to watch and listen. Just get tf out of here, woman! Second, the story was repetitive. The drama was too obvious and too monotonous. The same things kept happening, the same problems occurring. For a person who kissed another dude several times Weiwei was quite hypocritical to be mad at her boyfriend for putting his hand around his boss's shoulders and play the victim. Exactly why are u mad at him when you are the one at fault? Portraying cheating as something natural and normal when you're "feeling lonely" was a total no-no for me. First, this shows the lack of love and respect in the first place. No one cheats out of loneliness if they love their partner. She looked intrigued enough even before the problems between her and her boyfriend began so, hey guurl, I see what you're doing. The story, on the other hand, covers a lot of important problems and aspects of human relationships which are really important and they should have been focused way more on that. Although the main line was shown through Weiwei's relationship and Gao Zi Yuan's character there was a huge lack for me in the story and that was the fact that till the very last moment Weiwei did not apologise sincerely to Hao Yi for cheating multiple times and for lying to him while he was working. Throwing randomly the "sorry" word does no good, not even in real life. I believe that when you cover such important matters in relationships taking responsibility for your actions and apologising to the people you've hurt the most is crucial. She did not do that while she actually kept playing the victim and despite her brilliant acting, her character was the least appealing to me. I couldn't even sympathize with her. I'm sorry I couldn't see more of Han Kefei, they should have focused a bit more on her side of the story but I'm glad that Chu Kehuan's character was well developed and explained.

The OST was quite good. I'm glad this was 13 episodes. I don't think I would have been able to keep watching more of it.

Could have been better

As a big fan of the manga I can say that, unfortunately, the drama version did not come up to my expectations. Takui is more Toshi than the Toshi guy. Ryuji is maybe the only one from the cast that is completely out of character and is far from Toshi in the manga. He's too cute for his role, he looks like he's 10 and I can't even take him seriously. Neither has the vibe of a womanizer. In fact, Takui was my favourite in the manga, and in the end he was my favourite in the drama too. Matsuoka's acting was probably the best in the whole drama. He had the vibe, the character, the attitude, he just had his place in the whole production. It's a good drama if you have free time to waste but it's far from great and for sure not as good as the manga itself.

Could have been better

I haven't read the manga but I've seen enough manga based dramas and so far nothing good. Same goes for Honey. The story is nothing special, the acting was quite bad except the little girl and the male lead. The music was lacking and was out of it. I'm not sure if it's a japanese thing but why the hell is every character from a manga or a j-drama inlove with a relative?? That's just disgusting. A big No-No. I like the ML's character personality though. He keeps reminding you that we need more people like that but that's all. So the whole thing is a no for me.

Dropped it after 1st episode and didn't even think twice about it

This is bad. Just as bad as the manga itself. I'm still trying to finish the manga because I hate dropping things but I didn't want to waste my life with this The plot is bad but it's understandable as it is based on a bad plot. The acting is bad. No chemistry, no emotion. The fl is really dull, souless, not sure if she's stupid or naive, or maybe both, but she will not develop for sure even if I keep watching. The male lead is a pure pervert and toxic, and just as dull as the female lead. The whole idea of both the manga and the drama is toxic. This is neither romantic or sexual, it's full of abuse and somehow people are mistaking it for romance. In real life this guy will be the top of the psycho chain. You meet some random dude and after 2 hours he's like "i love u so much i can't help it". Run sis, RUN.

Not sure why but japaneses keep presenting abuse (physical/mental/sexual) as something normal, cool and romantic in both their mangas and their dramas, and I think that this is really wrong and unhealthy especially for the female audience. It's really disappointing.
