Maybe it's because it's a GL. Men do enjoy seeing two women getting it on. Pretty sure most of the people behind the Chinese censorship are horny old men who find two women getting it on sexy while two men getting it on repulsive. Hypocritical? Yes. But who's gonna stop them? I'll get excited for progress when I see a GL AND BL get released by Tencent. Hell just air me Immortality and that would be a great progress!

I agree with all your points here. Thailand has seen how lucrative this market is and has been cashing in for 2 decades now while China wants to cash in but strict government censorship has been holding them back for the past decade. If they were not censored back then after Addicted how far their BLs could've gone by now. Despite that they have apparently been able to find loopholes to get around the censorship just recently and already we're getting so well fed with so many CBLs pouring out. Korea can do so much more but their entertainment industry is unwilling or unable to advance this genre for some reason. It looks like no one wants to properly invest and the buget fluctuates from one project to another. From low to really low but never high. That's why we get good ones like Unintentional Love Story with a decent production/ runtime and an actor that's actually known to really bad ones that have a runtime of 10 minutes with first time actors. Can you imagine what KBLs or CBLs could do if they could acces the amount of budget that ThaiBLs get? More well known actors would be willing to star in them, because who wants to be in low budget stuff unless you're desperate, so the acting would be more consistent.

If this is true that we were supposed to get 14 episodes but only got 10 in the end then that's devastating. 😭😭😭
Also that sunset was so fake. When the sun goes down that low and about to hit the water it usually goes down super fast but it seemed like it never moved throughout their whole conversation. 😂

Oh how I wish we could have seen more of their dating era. How Chaeha becomes more confident in dealing with his big baby who always acts so demanding. How cute that could've been. Not asking for much but 2 more episodes would've left room to pad more scenes to evolve their relationship. It was too short!!! 😭😭😭

Yes Revenged Love definitely didn't have as high of a budget as Double Helix but they definitely made it work with what they had and it felt more high budget than the older BLs that came before it. I will forever be grateful for RL because I feel like before it we were in such a drought but once RL aired and the success it received it opened the door for all these new BLs to come through and hopefully a lot more in the future. With more prominent actors willing to take on the roles as well because as you said as long as the acting is good they will gain success from it.

Definitely agree on the chemistry making it feel more high quality and now that you mentioned about the clothes I remember hearing Zi Yu bringing his own clothes to wear. that's why poor man Wu Suowei ended up wearing a pair of sneakers that was almost $400 lol. I guess when I said it was high production I was thinking of the other BLs (Thailand not included) that came before Revenged Love. If you thought Revenged Love was low budget you should watch the older BLs like Falling in Love with a Rival (the first live adaptation of this novel). There you can REALLY feel the low budget LOL but yes compare Revenged Love to Double Helix or newer BLs it might not seem like a high budget project. I did not miss the countless outfit repeats of Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei I get because he's poor and living at the clinic but Chi Cheng is supposed to be rich but his wardrobe was very limited.

Yes now that I think about it Revenged Love did not have that high of a budget, definitely not comparable to Double Helix, but I guess in my eyes it felt high because of the great acting and the decent amount of airtime it got. I have watched countless other BLs and if it's not coming from Thailand it's way more low budget than Revenged Love with very short runtime. BLs are definitely progressing so hopefully in the future other countries besides Thailand can get more funding for them because before Revenged Love's success the BLs that came before were pretty low budget.

Yoon Gyu Ho is the fraternal twin of the lady that died while investigating the murder of Tae-seon's father so i don't see how he could be involved with the psycho Oh Jahyeon. it's not clear how she died but if he held Tae-seon or Oh Jahyeon responsible he would want revenge against them...

Yeah they are making him super obvious. His weird interaction with Director Tak (at first i thought he spilled the water on Chaeha on purpose because he was jealous of Chaeha getting the attention but now that i know he's the son idk what his reason was) and his over-eagerness towards Chaeha felt super suss...

Okay this might be an unpopular opinion but everyone is decent looking except the actor playing Chu Tae Jeong. I know "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" blah blah blah but to me he literally looks like an old man. An old man playing a young ditzy cop. At the beginning of Ep 6 was that supposed to be him and Dong Hwa in their high school days? That's one old looking high schooler lmao.

So I have looked further into the plot and apparently she's not someone we need to feel sorry for 😅

I don't know if you have watched The Gaze (if not I highly recommend) but it's terrible what they did to the main cp in that series. The second couple ended up with more screen time, more romantic scenes, and more NC scenes. I loved the main cp so much but they did them dirty so I'm triggered with multiple pairings. 😭

Oh yeah I just saw that Guan Yue is 6 years older than Yan Ruihao but I think Bei Luqing is supposed to be older than Lu Xiaofan. Guan Yue does have a baby face so maybe they casted him even though he's older in real life...

Wow Guan Yue has been in a lot of dramas. I'm impressed that he's willing to act in a BL especially coming from China. Hopefully his acting partner in this will do well because he hasn't been in much. Praying for a high production like Revenged Love & Double Helix and hoping that there is only the main couple and no second couple. BL dramas are so limited in run time and I want all the focus to just be on the main couple.
