I liked them together! The chemistry wasn't exploding off the screen, but romance is not the only thing going on so it's logical it wasn't the main focus! While watching the series i hoped they got together though and they did 😊👍🏻
It ends prettt satisfying! The bad guys get what they deserved and our main leads end up together (they walk away hand in hand in the last scene, but there is no last kiss scene)

I ended up finishing it! Even though the frustration sometimes made it a little hard to continue, there were alot of things i ended up liking about this show! It's not perfect (for me and what i like) but it's defenitly worth giving a try! ✨️
For me, there was just a little bit too much drama in the main lead's love live development! And the second lead syndrome hit me like a BUS!! But all in all, it's an entertaining drama and something to have watched once!
i've seen alot of high rated drama's that i don't end up liking somehow, but this was not one of them! The acting and chemistry between the cast was amazing and beautiful. It has been a while since a drama moved me to tears! What a beautiful drama!
i almost dropped it in the fist half since so many characters just pissed me off or were annoying, but in the second half i started to like some of the annoying characters ! (not the evil ones , they stayed stupid)
At the end i almost loved every character and i am so glad i stuck with it! Kim nam gil stood out the most tho! his acting was amazing! 9.5/10

agree tho! if you know something is gonna end bad you're gonna be prepared! I came for the fluff and BAM, a sad ending (and not even a 'good' sad ending)
ofc i get that maybe the writer wanted to teach a us a lessons and really cherish our days with the people we love , tho i don't think they did it well since we just ended up with pain and seeing hao ting not being able to move on. And his parents pushing that phoebe girl onto him. ( ofc maybe they just wanted him to be happy again and help him move on but i never got the feeling his parents really accepted him and Xi Gu in the first place so then it doesn't feel like that.)
For me personally, if i wanna watch a show with really strong messages i would watch another drama since there are ALOT of 'slice of life' drama's.
I came here for the fluff and it was the most fluff until ep 9. it ended there for me.
i waited till this show was over so i could binge watch but i saw all the spoilers about the ending and now.. until witch ep should i binge watch so it has a "happy ending'' ?
