what if hye-ri's age that eun-ho says is the number of years since hye-ri went missing/died?

(like hye-ri and eun-ho are only 2-3 years apart but hye-ri went missing 28 years back)

since then eun-ho could have had this disorder buried deep down but it only became prominent because of her ex abandoning her (it acted like a trigger to her old trauma)

She is seen to have serious self esteem issues going as far as pestering her partner to choose between her and the news/vacuum and she often tells people to praise her...

I'm guessing this is because of her relationship with her sister (maybe one of them was the favorite child while the other was left out?)....She also works as an anchor and still dreams of being "seen" despite the lack of success she has had so far ( I think it is because of how she was not given much attention in her childhood hence why she wants a man who only loves her and hates everyone else)....

I also have a theory that her Hye-ri side pops up when she is feeling really low and it helps project her true emotions whereas the Eun-ho side is just a facade that she likes to hide behind (Usually children who grow up feeling inferior end up having low self esteem but are people pleasers because they crave attention)

Exactly even the cast is only 2-3 years apart but in the show hye-ri says she is 28 and Eun-ho says she is 37 (thus the 9 year age gap)...I'm guessing it has something to do with the timeline of when her illness started

I'm pretty sure Eun-Ho is the real personality purely because of the age...she is said to have begun working as a journalist 14 years back and that makes sense only if she was 37 (she would have been 14 years old when she started working if she was hyeri).....

I noticed some very odd things in ep 2 flashbacks though:

1. something that is VERY off is that although hye-ri and eun-ho supposedly have a 9 year age gap they look like they are almost the same age in the flashbacks( if they had a 9yr age gap eun-ho would be a pre-teen when hye-ri was a toddler, and since hyeri looks to be around 6-8 eun-ho should have been 15-17)

2. Eun-ho's socks (I assume its her) has some writing underneath it while Hye-ri's doesn't (If anyone knows korean please let me know what it says) and is it normal for parents to write under their children's socks?

3. when hye-ri got hurt the parents run out to see what's wrong but Eun-ho stays inside the house and cries while looking at the scene (wouldn't she also run out to comfort her considering how close they are?)

I genuinely love hae-in and so-min individually and their past projects are some of my favorites but for some reason this show is not on the same level as their past projects (in terms of plot and chemistry) i felt like their past projects were so well selected but this one just seems off...

idk if i'm the only one that felt this but the camera lighting/camera work seems weird for some reason (if anyone knows why please feel free to let me know)

idk why but the FL is giving me serious red flags🚩...when ji-uk got confronted by the CEO and he got called a bastard+child of an adulteress, etc. and got fired soon after she was quiet BUT when she got fired along with him she says "why me too?" like if someone you cared about got fired for such a silly reason you should stand up for them right?

then right after the CEO leaves ji-uk tells her he will do anything to help HER and she says "just take over the company", wouldn't the most normal response in this situation be to comfort him and tell him not to worry too much about it and that they will figure out a plan together?

I get that she portrays an ambitious career woman who was willing to fake her marriage to get a promotion but she claims to "truly" love him now but still acts just as narcissistic as before...he is always worrying about her well being whereas she is comedically shown to care only about herself (I thought about the same thing when she got reported due to a misunderstanding and all she could think about was get revenge on ji-uk)

the CEO and the writer (second leads) are perfect for each other.

at first I thought that his narcissistic attitude and the environment he grew up in was vastly different to ja-yeon's so I thought the secretary and her would make a better couple (since he was much more easy going and she seemed the happiest with him + i thought his reaction to her books would be adorable). When I heard the second drama would feature them as leads I assumed that they would just make the CEO a completely changed man overnight and they would just brush over the stuff he wrote about her, but boy was I wrong.

I realize that the secretary is the wrong choice now after a few more episodes because: 1) he is nice to pretty much everyone that treats him well, 2) the fact that he is nice to everyone means that he probably doesn't have any special feelings towards ja-yeon also if he cared about her(in a romantic way) before, he would have tried to find out why she disappeared all of sudden, 3) she has already lied to him about certain things because she cares a lot about his opinion about her and this is obviously not a good start to a relationship, 4) I honestly don't think he can properly comfort her regarding he past trauma and lastly I think she idolizes him way too much

on the other hand the CEO: knows what she does for a living, has come to terms with it, has fallen for her (not at first sight) but rather after knowing her for some time, they both have insecurities despite being successful in their own fields, he has already seen signs of her trauma and also dealt with them well, and he is literally so honest about everything to her (the things that matter) , they both seem to have problematic pasts of their own unlike what I initially assumed.

I can also imagine cute scenarios where the CEO writes her poetry (it would be soooo cuteee) and she asks him opinions on spicy book scenes (he would be blushing ofc) and the most anticipated: THE MOTHER IN LAWW, i can see her acting like the rich grannies in soap operas (myb even from one of ja-yeon's books) and then falling head over heels after finding out who she is (maybe even embarrassed because she knows everything she has written TT)

yk honestly I feel like for this type of drama they could have gone with a documentary style shooting with myb seokryu uploading daily vlogs on her youtube channel and talking about stuff (or like how they did it in our beloved summer)

well its usually like that isn't it? when a child sees something they believe it to be the absolute truth and as seen from the flashbacks she was always away on work related trips and didn't spend much time with her family (same goes for her husband who is a doctor) and seunghyo only saw his mother with the handsy minister and her cold attitude towards his father (myb he even compared seokryu's parent's relationship with theirs)

I have not heard of any lord to date that has encouraged anyone to spread hatred, if you don't like something that you are being forced to watch that is a completely different story but you literally opened an 18+ show that is rated as such and expected a fluffy rom com. Who are you warning by the way? your 30 fake accounts? Because all other "mature adults" like you at least know how to read age ratings.

well why don't you also spew hate for this drama in private? because no mature adult on here wants to see it

although I agree with you on some aspects lets not drag countries into this, every country has a lot of cases regarding the safety of women (the only thing that is different is that the case in india was sensationalized recently ), by bringing his country into your comment you are no different from him when he slandered western countries......

the validity of a critique can be questioned when the person stating the criticism uses hateful language to prove a point rather than stating their opinion in a factual manner. If you don't like a show thats completely fine but if you go on a public forum that is used by people of all age groups and call a director a whore because they had the "audacity" to make a show you deem "degrading" seems silly.

As a fully grown man how does it feel to rant about a show that is rated 18+? does korean media not even have the liberty to make 18+ shows? pretending like something doesn't exist doesn't make it untrue....I have no idea what you planned to achieve by broadcasting that you are from Bangalore but its each to its own, the fact that an asian is stereotyping the whole continent is hilarious...rather than criticizing people who have already achieved more than you ever have maybe you should watch the other shows that are more your "type" rather than spewing hate on here

the internet is what gave you the medium to write this comment right here, and stop acting like porn didn't exist from way before, it has always been a part of human civillisation in some way or another (not saying its right or wrong btw) and the only difference is that america happened to be the first one to profit on it....The "alot of the world that is conservative" should stick to being conservative and not watch a show that is 18+ and then start ranting about it

If explicit scenes overshadow your viewing experience it is because you place a huge amount of importance to it...There are some people out there that can't stand to watch violence or gore and they stay away from it, i dont see them spreading hate over that particular show simply because they can't watch it nor do they claim that the industry should stop producing these type of shows...

There are plenty of ongoing korean shows for the so called original fan base and they can stick to that but why do you prevent potential viewers from discovering this show because of your bias? I have seen plenty of shows that don't deserve decent ratings being rated extremely highly because of the looks of the cast and in comparison this show has a lot better acting and budget but it still only gets a 7.7 rating because of your bias which seems unfair.

If you truly are a fan of the korean drama culture you should be glad that more people will notice this industry (which they are trying to do by trying out new ideas and themes) and discover more about the culture rather than spewing hate over 2 mins of a 1hr long show

Honestly this show is just a depiction of what may have happened in a certain time period and it is the director's and scriptwriter's angle of what a king who has everything a man can desire will do, I personally think that the n*dity and explicit scenes set the tone for the show but I simply can't understand why people would have stereotypes about korean dramas and want it to be "pure". By writing comments regarding the "purity" of this show you may be dissuading some people from watching it but you are also completely disregarding the plot of the show by only talking about the N*dity.

It is truly sad that the bold decision of the cast to agree to this film is now being subject to this degree of unnecessary hate by the FOREIGN audience, I can't imagine how the reaction is in korea if foreigners react like this. Oh and you are also basically forcing half the people that check the comments to specifically see what the so called explicit scenes are about after creating such silly drama over it.

And for those claiming they started watching kdramas to get away from western shows, let me tell you that you are basically arrogant enough to expect that a country will stop producing whatever kind of movies they like simply because you deem it "unfit", if you didn't already know the hollywood industry is a role model for many industries around the world and obviously the korean industry may want to expand its range from cute romcoms to something mature to spice things up and attract more viewers.

I think she was either trying to get over her fear or she knocked into him (myb she was surprised because he hater looked normal in contrast to the comments he wrote)
