Can’t agree more! The romance scenes were top notch - detailed, intricate, felt, progressive. The battle scenes were just used to showcase the leads (no complaints, very effective). To focus on the battles would feel anticlimactic. It always seemed like the army was so tiny and the show was missing a main/grand war, rather a bunch of side battles.

Trying to watch older works of ZLH made me realize I’m crushing on Yan Zheng & Chanyu, not ZLH. What a dilemma.
