Finally finished and have to say this is one of my favorite dramas (and I've watched quite a few). I don't remember laughing and crying so much with any other series, but this one definitely hit in such a different way. I usually distance myself from the stories I watch and enjoy the ride, but this one is so relatable in the way the families interacted. Would have loved to have grown up with someone like Li Hai Chao as my father.

Her role here is different. It's isn't domineering like a few previous characters she's portrayed, but still strong and resilient. In "One and Only", she plays a much softer female lead and did it so well that I was really impressed at her range of acting.

"Arsenal Military Academy" is definitely one of the best Cdramas made! The camaraderie of the characters left such a strong impression. Loved "The Legends", but the editing in the last few episodes wasn't done well. Still enjoyed it though.

Reading through the previous posts, it seems like I'm not the only one looking for subbed episodes. Subscribing to Youku's YouTube channel didn't provide subs and they're actually slower than what's on Dramacool.

To slightly ease my hunger to understand unsubbed episodes, I will usually search this site for a partial summary. The translation is rough (like using Google translate), but it's enough while I wait. I also read the viewers' remarks.

I'm also waiting for the rest to air and be completed. Watching "My Dear Brothers" to fill the time and getting a stomachache from laughing too much.

I don't follow the crazy fans/netizens, but was it her fan group that stirred things up? I thought it was Luo Yunxi's fan club that caused issues? I also felt terrible that she got so much crap from Xukai's followers.. That one I did hear about, though I'm not exactly sure what was said. Adore both of these actors and really hope to see them paired again.

Looking at your (original poster's) viewing profile, this drama series touches a bit differently and I think it's the deep family interactions and how they cope with mental issues... While romance does come into play later on, it isn't really focused on or played out like we enjoy in other dramas. Everyone also raved about the Kdrama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay". While I liked it, I felt wiped out after watching it.

I'm currently on episode 29 and love "Go Ahead", especially the humor, but did need to take a break from it for a bit to watch something lighter.

I was surprised to learn his age too when I checked his profile also while watching "One and Only" and "Song of Youth". Looking forward to watching him grow and get more roles.

I thought he called her Jiu Ling and she called him Ling Jiu when they were younger..

aww, that's unfortunate. You're right, there are many that are far worse than this...and honestly, this is hardly bad at all. I'm actually enjoying this drama.

So far, no wedding ceremony one up till 24; however, Ning Yun Zhao did step into a fight between Lu Yunqi and Zhu Zan and stated that he and the FL were engaged since children to help her avoid crazy's pursuit of trying to pressure her to marry him as a concubine.

"Jun" differentiates her from "Chu Jiu Ling" whom he thinks died in the fire.. (my interpretation) His character seems dedicated/loyal to his childhood love, Chu Jiu Ling, and he did not wish to use that name for another woman. (apologies, lack of sleep. hope this makes sense.)

Apologies if my opinion rubs you the wrong way. It's fiction, so this was my interpretation up to episode 7. Reading recent posts, it's good that they plan to have her character further evolve/advance.

I think it's only in this drama that I see similarities, but you're right, they don't look alike anywhere else in terms of profile & online photos.

Thank you for this spoiler! I was wondering if there was something that would make the FL more appealing/stronger.

Although the FL doesn't seem to have any skills or much intelligence, I'm glad they don't make her loud and obnoxious like we often see in a lot of fluff Cdramas. Hope we get to see more of Du Ruo, her senior brother/the constable.. (FL looks like she could be Z. Tao's sibling.)

From the previews, it looks like he asks her to register their marriage in episode 11. In episode 12, he appears to be leaving somewhere (for work?)..
