so in the novel, i heard it mentioned that they put the actual bong hwan in the wrong body and that he was actually supposed to be female and to make up for it, they ended up putting him in the queens body. I would love to have the actual queen come back though in the chinese version it doesn't happen. The director did mention that they will be taking their own spin on that version so the actual queen could come back.

the director said they're taking their own direction with the show but both shows are based on a novel.

Sorry lol. I'm watching the chinese version of the show now and the emperor falls in love with the man but the plot syponisis is quite different so idk. What I was thinking was that maybe the princess couldn't talk to the king and the male queen started talking to him which would open more dialouge between the actual queen and king.

both? I watched Oh my Ghostess and maybe it would be something similar where the male queen helps the female queen talk to the king and he's in love with both? This is just a guess and the king could very well just fall in love with the male queen so idk

I have a feeling that the actual princess's soul will appear in and out throughout the drama and that's where the romance will appear.

Is there romance between the leads? It’s hard for me to watch a kdrama where romance isn’t a subplot. It’s kind of like a distraction from the intensity for me.

I haven't watch this one yet, waiting for it to finish because I like to binge everything. Flower of evil had me on the edge of my seat and since then I like to make sure most episodes are out before starting. This comment section is definitely entertaining though. Everything seems a bit messy so idk if i will end up watching.

if you read the comments below mine everyones talking about how they don't like suzys character or NJH's character. They also talk about how the show has no direction and the horrible writing. I went to the comments and half are complaints and half are paragraphs of ship-wars. From what i am reading, people are staying for KSH. lol

seems like everyone hates this show. Why is the rating so high then?

ok, I finished it, and here's my opinion on the show. It wasn't bad or boring or most of what people said it was. It is, however, a realistic drama about family, morals, and career. The way the show was presented on MDL probably gave people different expectations of the drama. It doesn't necessarily focus on romance as its forefront so many people might not like it. It is for a more mature audience who is willing to look at things realistically.
If I had binged it all without waiting for the episodes I may have skipped it because of the way it ended, but honestly and not mad about it at all.

1-10 with 9 being good. I give it a 9.2
