Wow i havent read the novel and didnt know Xie Zheng was anything but a goodie character who was always there to support and forgive his wife (for all the things she did in his camp). Maybe they had to whitewash him because he is the ml. But i think Xie Wei was a much better character for ZLH.

Hahaha i get what u mean. Ive been on that page and watching it too. I didnt feel any bad ass-ness from his acting either so maybe it turned out that way after editting? Lots of maybes for that show. I really dunno... Tjc is able to add a lot of layers to his characters, so unless they intentionally water XQS down into a sob story, it shouldnt turn out like that.

Yes its really rude and annoying to be told that people who like fictional villians have to be mentally sick in real life! The world is not black and white, and disney princes do not actually exist! QiMin is so popular despite being psychotic because people do find something attractive about his intensity. It is not because they like the crimes he committed. Just to clarify, i like QM but not exactly a big fan. Im pretty annoyed by the people on mdl who attack others when side characters become too popular for their liking.

I agree with u. I binged the first 8 episodes back to back and the first arc was good! At first, I was hesitant to watch because i thought TXW was just another cutesy fl. I had high hopes for ZLH. Unfortunately, he wasnt much for me other than a pretty (perfect) face throughout the show. But TWX kicked asss in the action sequences. My opinion of her has changed so much! The story had terrible pacing problems, which started when SYQ magically appeared highly ranked in a bandit group and commanded them as he liked. 🤣 Many parts of the story seem missing and quickly or lazily explained as flashbacks. There were plenty of cringe parts especially when it came to how CY behaved in a military camp. Maybe i couldnt get into their romance, i fast forward those bits. I just wish the drama wouldnt keep doing start/stops. It was a 10 at the beginning but now hovering around 7. Something i did like consistently throughout was their hair and makeup!
