Hihi, how many episodes have u watched? Like u, i also avoid modern dramas because they dont hold my interest. However, I have completed a few (maybe only 5) where the plots are more unique. Filter is one of them. Episode 6 or 8 is a good time to decide whether or not to continue this drama. The jokes also start to be less exaggerated after the SM arc. There are heavier and emotional scenes much later on and i think tjc nailed them. His acting here is on par with XL, but the scenes don't feel as intense because Filter just doesn't have much angst.
On his character, i agree he comes across as timid and nerdy. I am not a fan of his look here 🤣 but his character becomes more endearing as the story goes on. TQ is of course no white moonlight like XL.
Filter works for me because of the crazy yet logical plot and the totally unpredictable jokes.
If u are still in the first 4 episodes, i hope u can give it a another chance.

Give it a chance up to episode 6 or 8 as some people can be mistakened about the story in the beginning .
Those of us on this page LOVE it!! It's really one of a kind drama that is both emotional and comedic. You never know when they will throw in a joke and the story is unpredictable. It also has so many hidden details and easter eggs.

I believe that if SCC realised how much she affected him, she would have considered telling the truth, even when he at that time was someone always "nasty" towards her. It would have been a need-to-know basis, just like with Fang Jin.

On her methods being extreme, I think she and LinYuan are both very naive and have their heads in the clouds. LY is a manga artist and they are described as "sharing the same brain cell". The ways they planned to kill SM were also very unrealistic (poisonous spider and comet). I think she had no idea what death truly meant, perhaps because she has not lost a loved one before and grew up very protected. It showed in how she dressed up for the interview that shes inexperienced in the ways of the world. She didnt realise the impact of those deaths since she thought TQ wasn't serious and did not see all of his suffering like us audience.
I was glad SQL had the maturity to talk some sense when SCC and LY were celebrating how they "killed" QST. It also goes to show how TQ was infatuated with her by forgiving her so easily. (It was hinted earlier in the alpaca episode where it destroyed his precious items yet he felt no anger)
