Oh, your story is really interesting cause most people knew him from hidden love. So, having someone who became a fan from fated heart is different. That show really prooved that czy can also play in costume dramas. Before that people only wanted him in modern dramas
For me, I still love Lin Shao Bai the most. Mainly because of the genre and I love seeing him in a bit comedic roles and it's also not romance focused.
Let's not forget that he has a great personality too. He feels like a real human, very genuine. I don't feel like he's performing. He is silly sometimes and funny, cool and smart. Variety show also helped me learn more about him and love him as chen zheyuan.

Do you know that this is literally what made me a fan. I saw him for the first first time as zhou siyue from our secret, then again in mr. Bad where I didn't even recognize him. Then, in hidden live he was different again. He always changes in a way he blows my mind in both appearance and how he acts. The craziest change was definitely Li Zan.
The way he smiles is not the same even the look is not the same.
I love his choice of roles too. They are always different and challenging in a way that everytime he improves a lot especially in his recent roles. I'm just looking foward to light the dark now. I feel it will show us how good his acting is with a story that is finally not about romance.

As for the dubbing, it was one of the things I was worried about, because I simply love Zheyuan's OG voice, but it turned out quite suitable. It's not too far from his own voice.
Also, you can see something weird with the rating already where unaired episodes are rated so low. It's funny, because the drama was airdropped suddenly, but still there are people down rating it. So, just enjoy watching, discuss the story and ignore negativity. It will not effect them anyway
