i was not pay much attention to their kiss scenes because oF the matters you said mostly . their chemistry is more fan to watch instead of a couple full in love .... there is no passion at all .... i have seen lot of married actresses [kdramas] and their kiss scenes are HOT .

as you said , cause of the kdrama trope , they will brake up at some point and get together at the end for the usual happy ending .... i just hate to see again braking ups because .. parents said so , elders said so , etc .
ep42 = the extended kidnapping story is boring , ridiculous , brainless because the writer thinks or knows that the majority of the korean viewers care more about the middle age / elderly cast and villain kidnapper ..... necessarily gave us few more scenes from ML+FL because show comes to an end .... and 1-2 scenes from the young couple for the same reason ...... the ep. ends with a promising murder attempt ..... but after few seconds the given preview shows that nothing happened .....

16 ep .would have been better so the story can be explained better and the last 2 ep. can be more fan . the pace was good in the first half but in the last 4 ep. went a bit fast ... maybe the company plot got too serious and dangerous and not very enjoyable to watch ....
