Firsts
I started watching drama's in 2005. My first introduction to this world was the Japanese movies 1 Litre of Tears. I then moved on to Taiwanese drama's. That's when the obsession began. I started with Romantic Princess and I was hooked. Around 2006 I watched my first Korean drama - My Girl. Since then, Korean drama's have always been my favourite. I took a hiatus from watching from 2010-2015 (University, ya know?) but since then, I'm back in full swing!

Favourites
I have a lot of nostalgia for old drama's, since I grew up with them. If I had to pick a favourite for each, they'd be:
Japanese - Hana Yori Dango
Taiwanese - My Lucky Star
Korean - Reply 1997.
 These might all be considered outdated now, but when I think of these drama's, it takes me back to a place of comfort and I remember exactly how I felt when I was watching them. As the drama world continues to go forward, I'm excited to continue watching. There are so many incredible new ones that continue to come out each year!

Music
Of course, what goes hand in hand with drama watching is the music. Growing up, I listened to a lot of Cantonese songs, but over time developed my love for Kpop, thanks to Korean Drama's. Big Bang, Super Junior, and Shinee will always have my heart. Grateful to have attended a Big Bang concert in my lifetime.  The top songs from my favourite OST's are:
Japanese - Planetarium (プラネタリウム ) by Ai Otsuka  - Hana Yori Dango
Mandarin - No If's (沒有如果) by Fish Leong - My Queen
Korean -  Diamond (둘덩이) by Ha Hyun Woo - Itaewon Class

Ratings

These are some loose criteria I use to determine how well I rate a drama and how much I typically like them;

1. They make me cry - the more the better. If a drama succeeds in making me bawl my eyes a number of times, it's off to a great start. I love a good tearjerker!

2. They make me laugh - it's easier to make me sob that laugh. So anything that illicits so much as a smile has my attention.

3. They make my jaw drop - doesn't have to be something I've never seen before, but I tend to predict what will happen next in the drama. Since they're quite predictable sometimes, I'm usually right. But if I get caught off guard, great sign.

4. The Acting - This makes or break a drama sometimes. If the acting isn't up to par, I tend to not even see the drama till the end.
