Well... this is a mess. So far, 10 episodes. Few points : - the 2 worlds story and uncle betrayal and way to survive between the two is good and had so much more potential - the romance ? Ew ! It should have been forgotten, the drama would have been much better - Lee Min Ho ? First time watching a drama with him and, sorry for him but, he isn't a good actor in this character - Thanks God Woo Do Hwan is here ! Actually the main and almost only reason I'll keep watching to the end - Kim Kyung Nam is a nice revelation and his character is probably the most interesting one
Well, episode 6 is quite disappointing on the present characters development. Ji Soo is still way too much submissive. So to me it doesn't even feel relatable. The ex-husband's blackmail and Ji Soo's answers are totally out of logic. And Jae Hyun who seemed like planning some kind of revenge with a great mind now looks like he can't control anything and just take punches. Oh and way too much flash-backs. Hope it will improve in the next episodes.
Finally the story is getting more en more interesting as the plot suggested it. There is a few things that are illogical and could have been fix so it's a little bit disappointing though (when they meet a doppelgänger it's ridiculous that they don't see the difference, especially because the characters are purposely made very different...). Episode after episode one thing is sure : the drama is good thanks to the cast, except the main couple when they are together. Woo Do Hwan, as always, and Kim Kyung Nam are perfect. It is my first time watching a drama with Lee Min Ho and I really can't get a good felling about his acting. At first I thought it was because I didn't felt any chemistry between him and Kim Go Eun but, actually, even in other scenes it just feels off to me the way he acts. Maybe because I expected something more from the character of the king.
If anybody knows where I can watch at least the first episode of this, no sub needed, I would be very grateful because after a long (very long ! ^^) time searching it I couldn't find it anywhere.
Ji Chang Wook never disappoints (yes, even in Melting Me Softly, the drama was not that good overall, but not bad either and he did great). I'm sure it will be nice, and the funny side will be interesting.
The ratings and some comments are too much. I didn't find a good chemistry between the leads and didn't really like the way it ended, the filming was a bit low quality some times too, but still, it was a good drama. Acting was good for all principals characters, sides stories were well developed, there was points of reflection about Korean society or way to live that you don't see often in dramas, great balance between serious and funny scenes, a great progression of the main story and some originality in a good way. When I see some cheesy, illogical, far-fetched romance wrapped in fantasy with high rankings (will not give name...), compared to this drama, I just think I don't have the average taste, and I'm good with that. ^^
I really like this drama, but there is one bad point to me. Too much clichés about humiliation. Ji Soo character is too pitiful. I hope it will change in the next episodes.
Pas si nul que ça, mais bon... I don't like too this writer, and Goblin is my favorite boring nightmare drama.…
Favorite boring nightmare drama ? Haha, is that a thing ? ^^ Well, to be fair, if you remove the romance that really make me cringe here and some caricatural characters, it's kind of interesting and living up to the potential of the plot. But it's true that's the acting is too blunt, too much, especially with the king.
First time watching something with Lee Min Ho and it's really not giving me a good feeling about him. It seems the screenwriter was expected, but as I already dropped watching Goblin I'm actually not so surprised by the fact that I really don't like the way this is written. Kim Go Eun is not a bad actress, but between here and Goblin, to me, she's paired with actors with whom she has no chemistry and the romance really make me go fast and pass the scenes. The plot was really nice to me (like Goblin actually) but what a disappointment. Going to watch to the end just because I'm a fan of Woo Do Hwan. But I'm really sorry that he's acting in this... This drama est nul ! (The English "sucks" doesn't really convey the exact same feeling so I will keep to French.)
What's with these ratings ? This movie is a total 10. So glad to have watched it. Serious subject perfectly balanced with the right comedy, great characters and acting, good rhythm and development of the story till the end. Really a 10.
It kinda makes sense tho? He knew things gonna end soon. Things not looking good. So there's nothing left to lose.…
I agree with you, it makes sense that he acts this way. It's the realism of the scene that doesn't make sense to me. Unlike most of kdramas, everything felt really realistic and not too far-fetched until this scene. It's a fiction, of course, but it was just a little bit disappointing to me because everything else was very good.
The plot was good, and indeed it's good. The main story is great, sides story too, lot of things to uncover, great characters and good acting. But one thing kind of ruin the whole mood : the romance. I think I become allergic to this kind of made-up romance where the characters fall in love with so little. Like, the king is loving a girl for 25 years just because he saw her picture on an ID that doesn't even exist in his world. And the girl fall in love with a weirdo that speaks nonsense. Come on, even in Drama World, that's too much. If you leave the romance out, it's great though.

Actually, even someone who don't know anything about Korean could understand the story I think, as it is more about what they show, the feelings, than what they say.
Kim Jae Wook and Seo Ye Ji are perfect to play these characters. Their eyes express the sorrow and painfulness of life really well. I already knew for Seo Ye Ji through her role in the drama "Save Me" and it was a good surprise from Kim Jae Wook.
Beautiful movie.
