not sure if the drama will be adapt the novel but she was actually kidnapped and trafficked - sold to the brother for a pretty penny just for the sole purpose of progeny.

she was implied to be a prisoner from day 1 (story never explain why she couldn't / never escaped) and lost her sanity upon losing her first child (marital **** was implied but not explicily stated), and attempts for further procreation was summarily rejected.

First epilogue (extra chapter) does have some mention of her

u might be disappointed as romance is not a cornerstone of the novel - it is a slowburn and unrequited (by choice)

the novel reveals it at around halfway / 2/3 of the final year of school. if I had to guess... maybe around ep20 of the drama. it is a major pivot for the story and the character direction - and do expect will be the major point of debate for watchers

if you read the novel - you will know how things turn out. Some may not agree (if adapted) how the novel decides how to approach the ending. Some may not even consider it a happy "final lap".

the novel is about healing and mental health so there is a good chance unless they twist the ending (novel was happy - though how happy was established in the 2 extra chapters. For those looking for romance, ML and FL only gets together in the last main chapter, and literally the last few paragraphs of it)

and if the novel is adapted without change - she had HIV but did not die of AIDS, her cause of death is different
