ik its based on your feelings but in my defense, it was the perfect ending you could give to them based on their circumstances,
1) based on my experience/trauma with red sleeve, you cannot be happy in the palace, like never. 2) haven't watched the subtitled ep yet but i think they were planing to give the throne to the crown prince, and they were just waiting for the child to grow up and rule the country..?? (my speculations only, ignore if wrong) 3) most of the characters got what they deserve, from jaeyi moving on, haerim getting love interest, etc.
i love the joseon part more than the modern one....
