- Leads like eachotehr more or less since the start. But they spend a lot of time separated. - Their main problem is that he is the leader of evil (altho they are not evil, but still called evil) and she is the leader of good. Both constantly help eachother, but everybody wants them as rivals (mostly because they think he is evll) - For many episodes they only meet a few times. Each time they meet there is chemistry between them. They throw cute looks to eachother. - Theres another love interest on each side. But in both cases totally one sided, none of the leads likes that love interest, altho they are allies and friends. Its not annoying. - In episode 14 leads get togeher - In episode 15 they marry - There are no quarrels or breakups - Soon after marrying they are attacked and get separated until the last fight.
The romance is a big part of the plot, but there are very few scenes of them together in the entire show. For the first 13 episodes they just randomly meet, usualyl helping eachother, and after they get together and marry they get separated until the end. So the romance has chemistry and is cute, but its not a show where you see them together often.
Just finished it. I enjoyed it a lot. Before you watch this, you have to know it is completly silly and ridiculous. To the point of leaving a blooper in the show (then they rewind back). To the point of one guy going to fly away, another grabbing his arm and telling him to not fly so much because the special effects are expensive.
If you find those things funny instead of annoying, you will love this show. I found it very funny.
You also have to like that both leads are completly overpowered. Almost as demigods. They do encounter problems tho. But the show is totally lighthearted, there is 0 angst involved.
So, if you like silly jokes, overpowered leads, and cute romance, altho with not many romance scenes, you will enjoy this.
> The leads put the other lead above EVERYTHING else. Above their careers, above their most trusted friends....…
It is simply not healthy. Have you seen how they treat their "best friends"? That would be terrible in real life. It may sound beautiful "to put your partner above everything" and in a drama I love it, but there are healthy limits in real life. You can't treat everybody like he doesn't matter, even laughing when they get mad because you skipped a plan juts to say hello to your partner for the 12th time that day... You will end up 1. Without friends and 2. Quarreling with your partner, if 100% of what you do is just be with him and ignore your personal time and your friends. At least if it as much as in this show.
Just finished rewatching it after a year. Very lighthearted and sweet romance. But not a serious one. Totally…
- Their mothers made them "engaged" as kids. But they havent seen eachother since they were kids and non of them wants it - They meet by chance in a hospital and FL starts likeing him since episode 1. - He is cold,. We see he has some interest in her but he avoids her. - In episode 3 he runs after her and from this moment on they clearly like eachother - Its hard to tell when they really get together, since they are engaged already and clearly like eachother since episode 3. They do a lot of stuff together and they kind of are a couple alreade from this point on - In episode 10 they almost kiss but are interrupted. In episode 11 they kiss. From this point on they are clearly together, but like I said, you can also say that they were before the kiss. - From this point on they are very sweet and lovely to eachother all the time. - They have 2 small quarrels but no breakup. First ML sees a video from FL talking bad about him, but it was just acting tough infront of her manager when their relationship wasnt official. It is quickly solved. The second one is that ML does something that makes it look as if he didnt believe she would be able to get a role. She is mad and goes back to her parents. He goes after her, waits on the door a few hours, and she goes down and everything is fixed. Both quarrels were really nothing bad. - In that same episode he proposes and she accepts. They marry in the last episode
It is one of the most lighthearted romances you can watch. They like eachother almost from the start, and act lovely dovey every single episode. Both quarrels are absolutly nothing and they quickly forgive the other one with a kiss. There is a love triangle, but it only causes trouble for her career, not for their romance, since they like eachother so much from very early.
Just finished rewatching it after a year. Very lighthearted and sweet romance. But not a serious one. Totally recommended if you just want an easy sweet romance without any story and dont care about realism.
FL is gorgeous and her character is one of the sweetest ever. She acts silly and in love towards him from the very beginning. ML starts cold, but soon starts being sweet towards her too. And I mean very soon, dont worry
Finished it. It is.... a pitty. I wonder why the scriptwriters wanted to sabotage their own show.First half is…
- They start bickering a bit - Soon they become friends - Soon again they like eachother - This evolves into a relationship where while not beeing officially together, its obviously for everybody that they are(will be) together. Theres absolutly nothing more important for each of them than the other one. This part of the show is amazing. - Episode 14: ML gets into a college in another city, since FL doesnt have enough score to enter (and she doesnt care about anything else besides ML) she decides to study one more year to be able to go to his college. This isnt the bad part, they separate on good terms, they agree to join one year later and keep texting and talking often. All good for now. - Now the ridiculous shit begins: - They constantly think of eachother, but one time he goes visit her to her city without telling her, and omg what a coincidence, when he appears another guy is precisely comforting her patting her back. He goes back without seeing her and stops texting and speaking with her. Then she goes visit him to his city without saying anything, and... omg what a coincidence, right when she appears a girl is leaning on ML because her leg hurts. FL sees it, and goes back without saying anything. Wow, such a realistic show because it isnt a fairy tale.... Both of them are never with somebody of the opposite sex, but the 2 minutes the other one appears from another city, they precisely are and with physical contact... - Next problem. MLs father gets sick. So ML has to start working while he studies. So, because of this stupid problem, ML decides that he now has so many troubles that he is not able to protect FL.... from what? well ask him, because this isnt an action or thriller show, but he literally does it because he "cant protect her anymore". WTF So he decides to cut all ties with her. They have been in love for 3 years, not caring about anything else than the other one, she is studying like crazy just to be with him, and he decides to cut ties because his father is sick, he needs to work and "cant protect" her.... Again, very realistic. Im talking to all you praising it for being realistic because "bad things happen" Even worse, when he visited her and saw that guy pating her, he heard her say how hard it was being to study to enter his college and be at his level. So this is also a reason he wants to cut ties.... Which doesnt make sense at all because she is already studying and he cuts ties without saying a word so she keeps studying like crazy so what the hell are you helping her with??? - So a year passes without him texting her back and she enters his college. She goes right to him, yells his name at his dorm, they go speak, she confesses her love (they never did in high school).... and now the shittiest episodes begin. He rejects her coldly, and then when he is alone cries because he loves her. She cries too. Then she confesses again, he rejects again, both cry again. And so on for about 4 episodes. RIDICULOUS - Now its turn for the opposite! FL gets tired and angry and decides to stop pursuing him... and now ML wants to get back with her! At the same moment! Realistic again. So now we get 2 episodes of ML pursuing FL and saying sorry but she rejecting him because she is still mad. - Oh, almost forgot. There was a very mild love triangle in highschool. ML and FL were so madly in love with the other one that it wasnt a problem at all. But they decide to bring it back on steroids during this episodes. Now it is very annoying. - So in episode 21 they get together. Are the last 3 episodes of being together worht all this shit? Nope. These episodes are cute, but not amazing either. Maybe mosstly because of the previous episodes having destroyed both characters for me. - Also, theres some very annoying timeskips. Not annoying because they are bad, they are just... weird. Theres several timejumps where you didnt almost realize it happened. For example you hear a support couple is getting engaged. You continue watching scenes without any notice of tiemskip, and suddenly you hear they have been married for 2 years. And things like this happene several tiems along the show.
All in all, the show isnt as bad as I make it sound, but the dissappointment after the great first half is so big, that the feeling it leaves is very bad
Finished it. It is.... a pitty. I wonder why the scriptwriters wanted to sabotage their own show.
First half is very good. Third quarter is terrible. Last quarter is decent.
Anybody saying "it is realistic because it is not a fairy tale" should stop. Yes, real life has problems, but absolutly ridiculous coincidences and behaviours just for the sake of creating problems, is not realistic. For the first 14 episodes they create an amazing love story, that then is destroyed by absolutly stupid things.
If you want a very similar show but 3 times better, watch Meeting you. The only thing Our Secret has better is MLs acting, which is amazing.
Oh man am I mad about this show right now. I should have done more research. It looked good and very similar to Meeting you. The first part is indeed very similar, not as good, but pretty good. I had read that they have a falllout between high school and college and they get together in college. I also read they start college in episode 15. So I was sure hey would get together in episode 16 or 17.
Well, not only did I just find out that they dont get together until frikin episode 21 (of 24) , which is already too late for my taste and wouldnt even have started it knowing this. But also, when a show has leads getting late together its fine if they are awesome together before that. And while they were between 1 and 14. now it seems that I need to watch 6 frikin episodes of first her pursuing him and ML rejecting her for noble idiocy while loving her and both being sad and then when he finally decides to get with her she is so mad about being rejeted that its now her who rejects him. Absolutly pathetic.
What a frikin waste of the first 14 episodes. Im so mad I started this show. I usually find out about stuff like this in the comments, but I didnt find out in this one until I was already at that point.
8.6 absolutly not deserved. Meeting you is the same topic and so many times better
I keep seeing high ratings for this show, but I also read it has a big ass breakup. Can somebody confirm if thats true? I wont watch a romance to see them break up for longer than they are together....
Just finished rewatching it after a year. I enjoyed it SO MUCH. It's a frikin pleasure to watch. If you want a…
- They start anonymously playing online - In the first episodes they start likeing eachother without knowing who the other one is - He starts suspecting she is the celebrity (his idol) But many times she manages to say an excuse that makes him think again she isnt. - He finally confirms it's her, but doesnt tell her and acts as if he doesnt know - She sees him in person, and recognizes its his online friend, but doesnt know he knows who she is. - Episode 14: they play an official game together (physically) but she still doesnt know he knows she is his online friend - Episode 15: he confesses its him. Altho they dont get together yet, they start behaving like they would. In this episode they already go ice skating and hold hands and hug (they make it look more like a skating thing than a real couple, but still) - Next episodes they make many things together. At one point he asks if he can be her boyfriend and she teases him answering it depends on his performance - Espiode 19: they are almost discovered by the press, so she is thinking if she should stop seeing him to not alter his life - Episode 20: They get together! From this point on they never breakup and are absolutly constantly lovely dovey with eachother. - Episode 23 they have a quarrel but it only lasts half an episode. And when he apologizes she apologizes back (which is fiikin uncommon in dramas, usually we just see ML apologizing for 2-6 episodes) - Episode 28: they go public. Most of the important characters of the show already knew long ago, I mean they make an official public anouncement. - Episode 30: on a concert she dedicates a song to him. This isnt a big milestone, but it was soooo sweet - Episode 31: he proposes and she accepts. Last scene is a concert and she gets all the important characters on stage.
The show has a love triangle, but I usually dislike even small love triangles, and this one wasnt bad. Maybe if you watch it for the first time it can feel bad because you expect some bad scenes, but nope. I think sML was flawless. Never overstepped, always was correct. Tried to court her, failed, decided to care for her as a friend, even aproving of ML. Many comments say he is annoying but I suspect its because he is an older guy and they dont like that. Also, we see from the start FL doesnt like him as more than a friend, since in one early scene she suspects he likes her and starts avoiding sML
Just finished rewatching it after a year. I enjoyed it SO MUCH. It's a frikin pleasure to watch. If you want a lighthearted romance with no bad things happening at all, with tons and tons of cute scenes, look no further. Theres no way the leads could show their love for eachother more. This show is a constant stream of satisfying moments.
It's a mix of You are my glory and Love o2o. The topic is very similar to You are my glory, FL celebrity and very smart ML who is the best at his field. From love o2o it has the feeling of everything always working perfectly for the leads, of every problem being instantly resolved with 0 effort, and the constant delivery of satisfying moments.
I hate love triangles. I never ever had or would have second lead syndrome. And I still think this guy was very nice. He never overstepped boundaries. He was always respectful.
Just finished it. Quite good. It has a lot of enjoyable things and no annoying things at all. Still, somehow the…
- They get together at the end of episode 12 - Once they get together they dont really break up. They have a problem related to the past in episode 19-20, but its so short and non angsty and they miss eachother while it happens, that I wouldnt call it a breakup. - Theres a love triangle and while it would be better without it, it's not annoying. FL, without realizing it, always makes some comment or does somehting that shows that sML has no chance. Also sML later has his own girl.
One of the best things this show has is that once one of them does something wrong (ML like in all dramas), the other one isnt angry for frikin 2-6 episodes like in other dramas. Once FL gets an explanation, she forgives him and everything is great instantly. I wish all dramas would do this. Theres so many dramas I love which use the stupid trope of FL getting angry for something she should indeed be angry, but once ML apologizes they stay angry for several episodes and I end up hating their character.
It has a lot of enjoyable things and no annoying things at all. Still, somehow the sum of its parts are not as good. It has the things that would make me say its awesome, yet for some reason I cant explain, its just good. I didnt have the absolute need to binge watch it and I wasnt sad once it finished. Still I enjoyed it a lot.
