Fluffiest drama with the best chemistry

I am writing this review after my second watch. I came back to this because the chemistry of the actors is out of this world.

The story is a total cliche. And the premise for why the two get together is classic kdrama bs. What makes this drama different for me is that the main female lead isn't a complete pushover. She can sass the male lead and put him in his place, and she's the only one who can do that. I absolutely abhor cardboard female leads that are just made to be walked all over.

The couple's relationship isn't perfect, but that's what makes this so much better. The characters act reasonably, and conflicts are resolved in a reasonable amount of time, without being dragged on by uninspired writers. The fluff moments are beyond cute due to how happy the two main actors seem to be when they're together.

Overall, I would rewatch this again and again.

The chemistry brings the cliches to life

Without the two main actors and the two secondary actors to bring this drama to life, this would just be another second-rate romance full of cliches and pacing issues. When I watch a romance, I want a good amount of fluff and angst, and this drama really did not deliver on the fluff. Most of the fluff was interrupted by silly "comedic" moments that made me so frustrated I wanted to tear my hair out. I also wasn't made to believe that the girl fell for the guy, seemed a bit sudden.

HOWEVER, the chemistry between the main actors and ESPECIALLY the chemistry between the secondary actors made me swoon. Even with the tiny bits of fluff we get, I still think about them and fangirl to my friends.

Overall, I would still recommend this as a good drama if you like sweet romance without too much melodrama.

The actors did the best with what they had

If you love silly goofy romances, this drama is for you. I do not. When I wanted to rewatch a fluffy drama, I remembered this drama as being pretty good so I sat down to rewatch it. Disappointingly, I had to skip through half this drama the second time.

For the good: the main couple are very cute together. I think the last scene is so romantic, I may rewatch just that part many times. Mamamoo's song in this drama makes me happy whenever it pops up. Jangmi's arc with the mother-in-law is also very interesting, and it takes up a lot of the show. The actors work hard on the script they've got.

Now for the bad:
- Jangmi the main female lead is ultra clingy and let's everyone walk over her. This created so many of the "comedic" moments in the show that I did not think was funny at all. They just made me sad. We're also supposed to believe that she's a very considerate girl but there are many times where that is inconsistent like when she just takes over the male lead's home.
- Jangmi's friend is a manipulative friend and girlfriend who literally took advantage of a guy and manipulated everyone to pity her. But we're supposed to laugh because the guy is a silly dude so it's all okay right??
- We're supposed to root for the second male lead even though he dismissed Jangmi multiple times due to his ambitions or pride.

Overall, would only rewatch again for certain parts. Would only recommend if you're looking for something to pass the time.

Slice of Life gold

If you go into this expecting the best romance of the year, you're going to be disappointed. But if you are a big slice of life fan and love to laugh, cry, and everything in between, this show is for you.

I have felt the whole spectrum of emotions watching the stories unfold for our main characters and secondary characters. It comes out piece by piece keeping you hooked. I cried every other episode as I felt all the emotions of how life can come at you.

The female lead is self-centered, pretentious, and lacks empathy, which is why I had to knock this down 0.5 stars. What makes this show different is that the other characters know it too and treats her as such so it feels real. Some scenes of the main couple after they get together also feels a bit overacted so I didn't believe it, but the whole cast really shines under the director for the vulnerable moments.

Minus 0.5 more stars just because I hate love triangles, but this wasn't the most annoying so I sat through it and I'm glad I did. The last third of the show really pays off the set up from the first few, and I'm glad we get lots of heart warming bits at the end to bring it full circle.

Overall, I would totally recommend and watch again.
