There are some 8s on Viki hehe. But I don't trust MDL ratings after the recent huge influx of a certain actress' people/fans. I do like Douban's ratings and agree with them more. They have 300 million monthly active users and unlike MDL they continuously update their rating system to combat those types of things.

It has good ratings on Viki.

I would love to see Zhao Li Ying in this. She is excellent at playing a strong female lead. Kind of tired of the pretend I'm young, lost, innocent strained baby voice type of leads we're seeing in many dramas these days.

Teresa Li has really grown into an phenomenal actress. I honestly can't see many of the top CDrama actresses pulling off this type of role.

I can see why it was Douban's #1 rated 2023 drama so far. Wow. It is so good.

Yup yup. They do it on Viki too. And the subs there are voluntary too, and people will still give it a one if there are no subtitles in their specific language.

A few minutes into this drama. I wanted to strangle some people lol. Park Min Young is so pretty even with minimum makeup <3.

You are right. Could be Ling Zi. it's just his relationships are all so complicated (and interesting!). I am early on and my Chinese isn't very advanced hehe. I will definitely rewatch it when English subs come out.

Many great series have low ratings here. Like The Long Season, the number #1 2023 drama rated on Douban, it's only a 8.3 here. I think the MDL fan base (or fake base lol) makes the ratings unreliable, always pushing a favorite actor/actress no matter how bad th drama is. You can see countless good reviews with new accounts... Etc. This is a great show, and it's getting great ratings, I hope people ignore MDL's ratings and watch for themselves when the subtitles of their languages is released.

I just can't get over how great an actor Hu Ge is... I'm watching ep 15, and he is just spectacular. I'm with the director, no one else could've played this role but him.

I disagree, I think if it wasn't for Li Yun Rui, this drama would've been lost hehe. He did great in it.

Tencent is only showing it to a certain region :( and not to international fans right now. I'm hoping some good subtitles come out soon for those who want to see it.
