Title My Fiction Spoiler
the ending was kind of..tragic. that's really sad. i even felt sad for ninomiya, and even by looking at yuri and tsumura, can we really consider all that as a happy ending? idk..i think it's based on how you can see it, but everything is really heartbreaking. the technology was supposed to 'help' people, and while it did help some people, it ruined others lives too, it made me question so many things..like.. can we be really happy if we forget all the sad memories and just live happily? or do we need our sad memories sometimes? i remember ninomiya saying in ep 1 that forgetting isn't always a bad thing because we can forget the painful memories, and i wonder if it really is. i also like the fact that the technology continued (i know some people didn't like that), it's actually realistic, it's not like kosaka-san can stop all these people who work on higher places by herself, tsumura and ninomiya can't either, ninomiya can't just say he will stop now or even escape, and he knows that..so even if i feel that it's sad or that it's not really a happy ending, i actually liked it, i think it fits the drama. overall it was a really really good drama! i enjoyed it so much every week till the end and loved everything about it..the plot twists and the characters, the idea..it was so good. thanks again shinjsubs for the subs :) it's for sure one of the best dramas this year !!

It's definitely the script. On the tension between insiders/outsiders, the conflict was developed patiently with…
exactly what felt off. the script was the biggest problem here and it's the reason why it ended up with a shallow, awkward mess

It was a decent watch, i guess. i have to admit i lost interest halfway through..even though the first episode was pretty fun and somewhat emotional, and the teaser looked promising, the plot just got boring and weird in the middle, which felt off. the police were written as completely useless in this drama, and that was honestly so annoying but oguri shun acting was amazing as always!
this perfect cast carried it, it just got kinda dull and failed to keep me hyped. from my personal perspective, i don't think korean writers have what it takes to deliver a great j-drama, even if they gather japan's top actors..there’s just something different about japanese writers and j-drama, longtime J-drama watchers will probably get what i mean. there’s almost always something missing in Japan-Korea collaborations, unlike that beautiful vibe i usually get from jdramas but well, i think its just not my cup of tea.
Someone in the comments mentioned that Japan-Taiwan collabs are amazing, and i totally agree. 18x2 is my absolute favorite movie, and it’s the perfect proof of that. Overall, I think this drama could’ve been much better. The whole vapor man concept is really cool, but they couldn't maintain the story. that whole plot with the weird brothers and the idols (or whatever that was?) felt really silly. Well, that’s just my personal opinion. I think it was a good thriller to binge watch but it definitely didn't live up to my expectations. also, 6 episodes would have been more than enough for it
