Worth Watching Again and Again
This Kdrama had a very strong male lead and a very strong female lead. There was so much action and fight scenes. There was two people growing up from the childish wasy they were at the very beginning. It is very enjoyable. The right people caring about and protecting others who cannot protect themselves. I binge-wateched this drama because ti was so good. Watch the show and enjoy! Was this review helpful to you?

Just Something To Watch
The main leads were not too bad. Lu Qian Qiao (Allen Ren) and Xin Mei (Wang He Run) were great. Lu Qian Qiao and Xin Mei were married in the prison, because he wanted someone to remember him after he died and she needed a third husband to fulfill something needed in her life. Xin Mei got hurt so many times and really badly. Lu Qian Qiao would almost always come to save her. She was so kind and only killed when absolutely necessary, like when she thought that Lu Qian Qiao was accused and put to death wrongly. She killed several of the bad people responsible for blaming him. Lu Qian Qiao was a very strong fighter, but he had a very good sense of righteousness and justice about him. A Sheng (Zhang Kai Ying) was the angry, younger sister of Xin Mei. She did not want anyone else in her sister's life except her. She despised Lu Qian Qiao because he was A Sheng felt like he was taking her older sister away from her. A Sheng did not like that Qian Qiao had Xin Mei's memories taken away. A Sheng had the worse past history of any of the characters; when she was growing up, she was poisoned, beaten, kicked, punched, boiled in oil, limbs were detached and put back on and so on. Xin Mei was the first person to every show her genuine kindness and affection. The other main characters were okay. There were so much evil from the so called immortal sects. Lu Qian Qiao destroyed four immortal sects. The storyline could have been better. Xin Mei was so kind and she should have been more ruthless towards the evil people. She had great power, but did not utilize it well. A Sheng was either too cruel or too afraid during the show. The only middle ground that A Sheng had was with her sister Xin Mei. How old was the Lord of Rust-Sword, Meishan Jun (Fu Wei Lun)? Was he afraid of women or what? The Lord of Rust-Sword liked to brag and tale tell tall tales of his escapades.
Anyways, I watched this drama and thought it could have been better; dramas usually can be better. Xin Mei and her husband, Lu Qian Qiao, were in a boat at the end. It would have been great if we knew how that turned out. Some of the storyline could have been cut out and some time could have been devoted to a proper finally.

Modern Chef and Food in Joseon
First of all, I had very high hopes for this drama. Yoona was great, as chef royal chef Yeon Ji Yeong. She was believable and her acting was so good. The king,Yi Heon, played by Lee Chae Min, on the other hand, was clueless about everything around him, except his revenge and the chef royal chef. He would see his uncle doing bad things and did nothing until the very end of the drama. He yelled at Consort Kang, once, but let her misdeeds go unpunished. The king did not even know that half of the royal guards were changed out for his uncle's on guys. He wanted to kill his grandmother so badly. When it came to his royal chef, the king came on too strong right from the beginning. He had been involved with Consort Kang. Consort Kang and the king's uncle were also involved romantically. The king had such fits of rage and the bad guys knew how to push his buttons. The chef royal chef's sidekick Seo Gil Geum, played by Yoon Seo Ah, was a great character. She only had three days to learn her acting part after getting a call to act in this drama. She was fantastic. When it came down to it, the king killed this drama; he did show up in modern times, to Yeon Ji Yeong's delight, for she had fallen in love with him and missed him dearly. I watched this drama twice. The first time, I belived that the king and Consort Kang were married. I believed that the king was cheating on the consort and wanted to make Ueon Ji Yeong his concubine. I did some research and found out that the king had been married in the past, however, his wife died. I watched the drama again to see how much better it would be without the king being married. He still messed it up. I just did not like the king. I do not have plans to ever watch this drama again. Was this review helpful to you?

Woman Physician Rose To Top
This was a very good drama. The acting was pretty good and the characters were good too. The emperor kind of got on my nerves; he yelled a great deal when he should have been much calmer. The main characters were great. The story was laid out very well and it was easy to follow.Hong Xiao was the female lead in this drama and she played as Rong Ze Lan. She was mistreated by the Rong family, with the exception of her mother and aunt. Her mother worked as a physician in the palace . She was set up and brutally beaten 80 times. She was brought back home and thrown on the ground in front of the Rong family. Rong Ze Lan (as a little girl) tried to get someone to help her mother, but every shunned her and her mother. Later on, Rong Ze Lan's aunt tried to attend to the badly injured mother, but Rong Ze Lan's father ran a knife through both of the aunt's hands. Rong Ze Lan's mother died as se watched. Eventually, Rong Ze Lan won a contest against her half sister and was able to enter the palace to start her training as a physician. She was met with hardship after hardship, even losing a close friend (Su Ye). Prince Song Ling Xiao befriended Rong Ze Lan and even protected her. He became very fond of her and asked her to marry him every now and again. After navigating through the palace trouble, Rong Ze Lan asked the prince to get engaged to her. He was happy. The emperor issued a decree of marriage between Rong Ze Lan and Prince Song Ling Xiao. Rong Ze Lan had been named as the first femal physician in the history of the dynasty and she became a part of the emperor's court. When Rong Ze Lan and Prince Song Ling Xiao married in the future, she would become a Princess Consort. She had a bond with the Empress Dowager and several of the consorts, especially after all the bad people were taken out.
Rong Ze Lan when back to the Rong family house and confronted them. They all had to bow down to her and she laid the law down on them. She walked with her aunt and enjoyed their time together.
There was a very happy ending. The End.

Putting Yourself In Someone Else's Place
There are so many dramas where the character's souls switch bodies. This one drama added a different twist to it, sort of. The emperor male lead (Dai Gao Zheng played Xiao Jin Yu) and the empress female lead (He Xuan Lin played Xu Yu) switched bodies to to evil sorcery. The emperor was switched into the empresses body. He found out how bad he had treated her, how bad his mother (the Empress Dowager) treated her, how badly the concubines / consorts treated her and how badly some of the maid servants treated her. The empress in the emperor's body found out how hard it was to deal with the evil court, how difficult it was to run a country, how hard it was for the emperor to deal with his mother and the concubines / consorts. The two of them had to navigate through the inter palace treachery and deceit. The good thing was that they both had the emporer's younger brother, a good sorcerer and a imperial physician that where loyal to them. When the empress went out to the battlefield, in the emperor's body), she did well and even was befriended by the queen , (Ma Han Yi played queen Hu Na), of the enemy country; she fought along side the empress who was in the emperor's body. They became great friends. The emperor and empress found out that there where many misunderstandings and worked to find their way back to where they were when they first met and later married. They were finally switched back to their right bodies, right before the banquet. The good enemy queen was invited to the banquet. She realized that the empress seemed more familiar than the emperor. The empress and queen had a n entertaining sparring match with swords. They became such great friends, more like sisters with kindred souls. This was one of my favorite parts of the drama. The queen gave the empress her falcon and the empress practiced with the queen (enemy country ) with the bow and spear. They were inseparable and the her husband the emperor hated it; he wanted the empress' attention. The good enemy queen was getting ready to go back to her country, but the empress was not there to see her off; she looked around and was so sad. Finally the empress came and the two of them hugged. The emperor, empress, the emperors youngest brother and the others stopped a coup, taking down the evil marquise and his evil son. The concubines mellowed out and were made princesses. By the way, the emperor never messed around with any of his concubines / consorts; he only messed around and had affection for his empress. The drama had a very happy ending. Was this review helpful to you?

Love, But Never Together
This drama has potential; however the two leads were never meant to be together. Her characters either died or married other guys, while he could only suffer in silence. He loved her in every time, but he could never be with her. He cultivated from being a little white fox demon to take in human form only to give up his cultivation to bring her back to life. She had many hard times in her different lives. She always has different fathers, but never any mothers. Some of her fathers were kind, but others were cruel to her. The best chance for these characters to be together was the last chance. He would have to go through more violent and more frequent tribulations to be with her. She finally had a chance to see those violent tribulations and the tool they took in him. He helped him ascend to godhood. He found out that being a god was not what it was cracked not what he thought it would be. He decided that he wanted to be human. Was this review helpful to you?

Ice Queen God Chills Drama
I had high hopes for this drama. For most of the drama, Hua Ru Yue (Bai Lu) was so cold and unforgiving towards her husband Emperor of Heaven Bai Jiu Si (Joseph Zeng). She blamed him for everything that went wrong in her life, even though she was the main cause of everything wrong in her life. She kept the rules of her sect, but broke the rules of Heaven. For instance, she gave power to a human to kill a drought dragon. The Heavenly Emissary (Yu Meng Long) came to the mortal realm and forced Bai Jiu Si to seal Hua Ru Yue's power as punishment. Bai Jiu Si took all of the punishments for his wife and even took a 10-year Heavenly Tribulation (lightning strikes) for her. She removed and destroyed his golden core and she stabbed him a few times. Bai Jiu Si loved his wife and tried to show her some affection, but it was always met with coldness. She was pregnant and had their child, but she never told him; her human student knew of her pregnancy and was there for her. When Bai Jui Si fell into a childlike state, she showed him compassion and fondness. When he died, she showed love, monging, deep sorrow and regret. Finally, Emperor Bai Jui Si and Hua Ru Yue were together again, at the end of the drama. They had a renewing of their love. Was this review helpful to you?

Do Over of Season 1, Just Weirder
First off, Season 2 of Royal Upstart was not as good as Season 1. The male lead was disrespected so much more in this season. He was referred to as Wei the Fool by so many other characters. That got on my nerves, because even though he acted foolishly and brash, he was was brilliant in knowledge. His non-related aunt got on my nerves (and her maid servant), because she seemed to always get in the way and go against him. The aunt physically hit him and hurt him. In Season 1, this same female character was the Prime Minister's wife and she was a stark ally to the male lead. They royal princess softened and more hands on when dealing with the business in Season 2; in Season 1, she had a bad temper and was pretty much hands off when it came to the business affairs. The emperor from Season 1 was more likeable than the one in Season 2. The Empress was cool, whether the one from Season 1 or the one from Season 2.Instead of Season 2 being a continuation of Season 1, it was another version of Season 1. It was weirder. I am happy that I made it through Season 2. It was as if the two seasons were from different realities or parallel worlds.

Check in Hanyang Drama
In the beginning, the drama was filled with bad guys. The royal princess seemed like he was going to be a strong character and he seemed to make us believe that he was a great fighter. The princess was jumping over the high walls in the city . Even though, the male lead, Lee Eun, was a main character with first billing overall. He was invisible most of the early parts of the drama, with other characters showing up more. The princess was kind of dull. Hong Deok Su was a strong female main character. She was intelligent, brave and a leader. She was by far the best character / actor. Behind her, the characters were about average to weak. The villains were strong characters and they were really good at being bad. I would have liked if the other main character, Chun Jun Hwa, would have clearly told Hong Deok Su, how he loved her and wanted to be with her. He seemed to beat around the bush, assuming that she knew. I wanted the see Chun Jun Hwa clearly get rejected by her immediately. I did not like the ending. When Lee Eun and Hong Deok Su were kissing, the other two main guys came and messed with them. They stopped kissing and everyone of the four friends chased each other. Oh yeah, Chun Jun Hwa's father did not die in the inn fire; he showed up at their new inn.Was this review helpful to you?

Novoland Movie (2024)
I found this movie kind of interesting. The detective was an interesting character and so was the princess. They worked hard to find out the truth and they solved murders and palace schemes very well. There was not love between the princess and her fiancée. He was using her. She really did not want to marry him, because she did not want to give up her freedom and she just wanted to protect her country. The princess and the detective did not get off to a great start together, but they worked it out as time went on. Her and the detective found out that the fiancée, the emperor and the uncle were all evil. The princess was the daughter of the emperor and also related to the uncle. After the princess' fiancée was caught, he jumped off a cliff. The princess' father, the emperor, killed everyone in the room except the princess and the detective. The emperor did threaten his daughter. Another woman that the detective knew as a friend was killed in the movie. Her spirit protected the princess and the detective from the emperor's royal guard; they escaped. In the woods, the princess told the detective that she could not go back to her father, city, life, etc. The detective asked her where she wanted to go. She did not know where to go, so he told her to come with her. The movie ended with anticipation of them getting closer and falling in love. Was this review helpful to you?

The Glory - chen Du Ling At Her Finest!
When Chen Du Ling usually acts in a drama, she is kind of hidden away behind other actors. In The Glory, she takes the lead and runs with it. Zhuang Han Yan (Chen Du Ling) is dressed in the finest outfits. She has a large chip on her shoulder, that seem to make her seem that she is crazy; she might be after the terrible life with her foster parents. Her feet and hands look like they are weathered, red and frostbitten. At times Chen Du Ling seems like she wants to kill the world. She has been hardened over her seventeen (17) years of life. Her stepmother (her father's second wife) almost had her life ended byZhuang Han Yan (Chen Du Ling). Her mother acted like she hate her only daughter / child, but eventually came around. Zhuang Han Yan made some great friends, who helped her out in times of need. She considered her only real friend as her only family for many of her previous years and beyond. Zhuang Han Yan, her stepmother and her half sister reconciled at the end. They trapped the poisonous father outside the house and the stepmother killed him in the tunnel system under the house. Zhuang Han Yan got married and became one of the wealthiest women in the capital. This drama was exciting and mysterious at times. I watched it twice.

Boring Man, Lovely Lady
Go Ae Sin (played by Kim Tae Ri) was captivating. She was so beautiful and dangerous. She fell in love with Eugene Choi (played by Lee Byung Hun). Eugene Choi was so boring and seemed lost most of the time. He fell in love with Ae Sin, but you could barely tell if he had any emotions. She learned English to be able to say and write his name, at first. She wrote I Missed You. Ae Sin asked Eugene to write it and he would not. She was so full of life. She even would jump off the third floor balcony of the hotel all the way to the ground. Eugene finally told her that he missed her several episodes later. I believe that he drained her emotionally, because of his robot-like demeanor. Mr. Sunshine was Mr. Boring or Mr. Lifeless. If it was not for Ae Sin, I would have stopped watching this drama around the 5th episode. I will never watch this drama again. Was this review helpful to you?

Stupid Fantasy Drama
Ji Li is a fish immortal that is so gullible. She is kind of stupid. She goes whichever the way the wind blows. Everything she thinks it does is a coin toss; it does not matter if it comes up heads or tails. The emperor of heaven is a plotting and evil being. The god of war is simple minded and weak. There is so much back stabbing whether by the heavenly beings or the demons. This show is almost unwatchable. I quit; I am tapping out.Was this review helpful to you?

Very Dark Revenge, But Very Good Drama
The female lead Lan Meng Yan / Shen Wan Qing (played by Zeng You Zhen) was so very good. Her acting was superb. After all of the women of the family were killed, except the father's wife, most of the women's bodies were burned. Lan Meng Yan died and her face was cut (a giant "X" across her face), by her stepmother. She came back to life and she escaped. She was rescued by Qin Mo Xiu. He had her face changed and her voice changed. He trained her for 3 months in archery, weapons, some martial arts and more. When Lan Meng Yan married into the Lui family, she started her path for revenge. She turned father against son, both vying for her attention and affection. Her new background was being a daughter from a merchant family. Yes, she married her own brother, but she kept him at a distance. She turned her stepmother (father's wife) against her own brother and she soon killed him. Since the stepmother's son was being threatened by his father, the stepmother tried to sneak him out of the household in a casket. She thought her stepdaughter was dead and in the casket with her son. The stepmother nailed the casket shut, only to find out later that stepdaughter (Lan Meng Yan) was not in the casket at all, but very much alive. The evil stepmother rushed to remove the casket lid that she had previously nailed shut, only to find her son dead inside. The stepmother ended up killing her brother and her son, driving her mad. She was beaten severely by her husband (Lan Meng Yan's father) and locked in a room. Lan Meng Yan entered the room and dropped a bottle of poison for her evil stepmother. All the while, Qin Mo Xiu kept an eye on Lan Meng Yan, acting to protect her when necessary. He did call Lan Meng Yan his pawn one time to many and she let him know that she did not like it; he never called her his pawn again. Lan Meng Yan and Qin Mo Xiu took out all of the Liu lamily member, with the exception of her father. He showed up at the opera as one of the actors. We was later exposed to the crowd and his image was ruined. He was later killed.Next, Lan Meng Yan and Qin Mo Xiu entered a secret spy club and Lan Meng Yan was poisoned, making her into a controllable puppet of sorts. Qin Mo Xiu broke her out of the puppet state. Later, Qin Mo Xiu was hit by a poisonous dart, as him and Lan Meng Yan investigated the areas of the facility. She cured him of the poison. There was a contest between the young woman of the spy facility. Lan Meng Yan was knocked out and tied up, so she could not participate. A strange man came into the room and he wanted to have his way with her, but she killed him with the weapon strapped to her right leg. She untied herself, grabbing a bow and some arrows. Lan Meng Yan went from room to room shooting the evil men (mostly ministers of the court), killing them and helping the young ladies escape. She killed almost all of the ministers herself, but one was left for the other ladies to kill.
The last part of this drama was about a general who was receiving all of the monies from the Liu family, via the opera and the spy organization. The general was planning to rebel against the emperor. In the meantime, the emperor wanted to question and punish Lan Meng Yan and Qin Mo Xiu for the killing of his ministers. She told him that the minister were trying to torture, rape and kill the women of the spy faculty. He did not seem to care about the women, just his ministers. Whe the general's rebellion started, two eunuch's tried to poison the emperor, but Lan Meng Yan shot both of them dead, saving the emperor. She lead some women (in special outfits) into the room where the rebelling general and Qin Mo Xiu were. Between Lan Meng Yan and Qin Mo Xiu they killed the general's soldiers, thwarting the rebellion. Qin Mo Xiu fought with the general, beating him down. He handed the sword over to Lan Meng Yan who stabbed the general and quickly slashed his neck with the sword. The general died.
The emperor wanted to make Qin Mo Xiu a Duke, but Mo Xiu declined. He wanted to walk hand in hand with Lan Meng Yan. At first she would not take his hand, but later reached out and took his hand. They ended up walking off, hand in hand. The end.

Great Story, Great Acting
This drama was kind of unique. It had my interest from the very beginning all the way to the end. Nan Chen Xiao (played by Liu Ye) was a young general who had to dress up like a woman. He was pretty much under cover. Liu Ye was a very good character meshed well with the female character, Rui Yu (played by Tan Xiao Fan). Rui Yu was a young woman who dressed up as a male for all of her life. She never played as a girl, as she grew up. Rui Yu was a great minister in the emperor's court and she was a great orator / strategist. The young emperor, Yan Lin (played by Liu Guo Hao) was very likeable. He knew that Nan Chen Xiao was a man dressed up like a woman and he knew that Rui Yu was a woman dressed up like a man. Emperor Yan Lin issued a decree to pair Nan Chen Xiao and Rui Yu in a marriage. This marriage decree drove the two marriage partners crazy, as well as their respective families. Nan Chen Xiao's family could not believe that their son was decreed to marry another man (Rui Yu). Rui Yu's family could not believe that their daughter was decreed to marry another woman. The families had to honor the emperor's marriage decree or risk being destroyed. The marriage took place. It was so hard for the Rui Yu and Nan Chen Xiao. By the way, Nan Chen Xiao was also a young general. When Rui Yu was ordered to go somewhere to be an envoy or in some other capacity, Nan Chen Xiao said that he was going along to accompany his new spouse and to also protect Rui Yu. The emperor's sister, Princess Yan Luo (played by Dai Jia Li), always snuck along almost everywhere. She was a princess that only cared about herself and she kind of got on my nerves. The princess was so bossy and wanted everyone to cater to her. When did Rui Yu find out that her spouse was really a man? Some bad people where trying to kill Rui Yu and they shot an arrow at her; Nan Chen Xiao moved over to block her from being hit and took the arrow to the chest. He grabbed Rui Yu and they jumped off the cliff, landing safely below. Rui Yu helped Nan Chen Xiao to a cave. He told her that the arrow had poison on it and that he was really a man, not a woman. Rui Yu was surprised by happy. She sucked the poison from Nan Chen Xiao's arrow wound and left the cave to get help, after Nan Chen Xiao passed out; he woke up and di d not see Rui Yu so he left the cave to find her. Skip forward and Rui Yu was slashed by a sword while trying to protect her husband Nan Chen Xiao. He carried her to safety and started to tend to her wound when he realized that Rui Yu was not a man, but a woman. He was confused, but probably very relieved. After several other trials and tribulations, the spouses bonded and decided to be a real couple. After the bad guys were dealt with and peace was upon the empire, Rui Yu announced to the minister of the court that she was a woman, not a man. The ministers were shocked, but they wanted her to stay in the court. Nan Chen Xiao was called into court and the ministers found out that he was not a woman, but a male general. Their respective families were really relieved. The emperor already new the identity of the spouses. He later decreed that the would be married as themselves and not undercover. Was this review helpful to you?
