episode 34: that blissful hug 🥰🥰🥰

the SFL is largely irrelevant to the story. the ML sets very clear boundaries with her from the beginning, and even after her powerful father manages to get her into the ML’s household, she mostly just frustrates herself on the sidelines.

gah! just checked the episode guide. it looks like we’ll only be getting 1 episode a day from tomorrow. telling myself that a smaller dose is better than nothing…

i liked this a lot, though i didn’t find the storyline as layered as others i’ve really enjoyed (Fated Hearts and Love In The Clouds come to mind when i think of other stories that revolve around tough yet tender lovers who also manage to become really good friends/teammates under wild circumstances.)

with Wonderland of Love, the main couple’s dynamic is so delightful. ditto their other important relationships (father-daughter, friends, and so on). that’s what kept me watching. it’s a super rewarding watch in that sense.

so true! Song Yan must’ve used up all his good fortune with those two engagements of his.

ps: Qianqian & Changyu ought to form a support group for women trying to survive psychopathic fixation…

episode 18: it’s crazy to think about the way so many people are killed or have their lives completely ruined just as a part of somebody else’s power play. using the present tense because this isn’t a thing of the past.

anyway: i don’t blame the characters who cooperate just to try to live a little bit longer (‘ok, i’ll tell you where Fan Changyu lives!’) but i really respect ones like the magistrate’s daughter, who turned out to be a spirited lady after all…

now that i’ve watched all 37 episodes, i’ll miss this lunatic couple.

back to supporting the marquis + butcher couple and headmaster + princess couple in Pursuit of Jade!

it honestly feels like we’re all obsessed with this drama, and i love this for us. (i keep returning to this page to look at the images featuring characters we haven’t been introduced to yet- so excite!)

i agree re: the successful teamwork from the cast + the consistently engaging storyline.

and i’m adding to the Cho Hangyeol enthusiasm: he’s a charismatic one! he really stood out to me in The Haunted Palace as well as here. i’m curious as to the next role we’ll see him play.

well worth watching: after all, it’s cute, entertaining, and chock-full of delicious cameos.

plus this reminds me that i miss seeing romcom royalty Yoo Inna play a lead character! hopefully we’ll see something new from her soon…

i’d love to see a well-written sequel to this! with even crazier villains (if that’s possible) and just as many invincible lovers.

such a strong opening (all 5 episodes ). story, pacing, characters, cast & chemistry: all excellent. this is already shaping up to be a well-deserved mega hit.

i feel like the writers are already showing us two people in love- just two people having two different reactions to the idea of not having a future together. but i get why you see this as him making one-sided offers. hopefully in a few episodes’ time we’ll both be happy!

agree! the jealousy vibe is childish. i look past it because it’s really interesting to me that ML still has the ability to let someone get close to him. (i’m also interested that the FL is still moving towards him when everything she knows about life is telling her it’s much, much more sensible to stick with the uncomplicated ‘legacy choice’ fiancé.)
