I have a 3-5 episode rule usually I manage 5... because I believe that just because the story doesn't pull me in right from the beginning it doesn't mean that it doesn't get interesting later. Some shows just have a slow start. But it's really idiotic to give an official rating to a show as a whole when the person didn't watch it or when it didn't even release all episodes out yet. The need to sabotage things is fascinating and saddening.

The high budget is visible. But the dynamics between characters, their dialogues and motives and overall screen writing is just dull. Atleast for me so far and what I hear from most people.

Anyways, you should always try for yourself despite anything others say. You never know if it pulls you in and you find some spark in it.

I don't know what to think about it, I have mixed feelings. I feel like people who mostly say the plot is shitty might just forget not to take themselves too seriously....maybe it's not supposed to be taken seriously.

But then the setting and agenda is quite serious until suddenly the characters swoon over two fruit flies getting it on... then fight over an ice cream sperm... then two boyfriends in space fight over a girl on Earth.... And though these scenes did strike me as a "stop being serious and learn to laugh to stupid things" message, I can't help but think it's a lousy writing sort of.... or maybe... the creators forgot what they're even trying to do and where they're aiming with this drama?
What is it that they want to tell the audience, what is the ultimate goal.

So far it just feels so random. I understand certain characters truly hope to conceive and therefore somewhat broke the law in order to get the sperm to the space to make it active again.... THAT feels either extremely grotesque OR like an attempt to represent a serious scientific issue. Me personally could understand if it's just meant to be dumb satire in a Big Bang Theory style, or if it's actually considering the future of humanity and is viewed as a real experiment with mattering results. However, this drama seems to want to do both at once.... and to me it just doesn't click somehow, not yet.

As for LMH – i'm not one of his haters and to be honest till now I still don't quite know why he's hated. I think he's fine. But his acting feels...awkward somehow? Or maybe it's not the acting but just the character itself. I can't tell, I haven't watched him anywhere else. Despite that, I don't dislike his character so far. Having watched 2 eps, I don't think he's interesting enough to make up for a main character, but I'm not saying that it's hopeless and there's no room for a change yet to be made either.

First episode was so so for me, but not bad. Second episode was much better, probably thanks to more character dynamics and swifter plot progression.

When people said it's funy and lite I expected that typical crazy scenes being crazy only for the sake of forcing "humor" into your face. But this actually isn't that type of funny at all, only here and there. I'd say the serious note mostly overweights – which I don't mind. I like the way FL is a little nutcase but still hopelessly devoted to the cause.

Precisely, agreed. With Doctor Slump i'm currently at 10 out of 16 episodes and I've been doing the same as you, ever since episode 1 – skipping all the cringe extravagant high school flashbacks. I stick to it for Park Hyung Sik mainly and also because many people hinted that it deals somewhat well with the presentation of depression...? Which I personally didnt see much so far and I think they barely scratched it outside of a few basic textbook therapy lines, so I disagree for now. And as I always say, I might still change my mind at the end.

However, what you say about the unhealthy way of portraying "met as kids" tropes is really spot on. Not only it leads the audience to believe that you can only have one fated loved one in your life (and the very first one you met on top of that), it also implies those people have indeed never grown up if they're still hung up on someone they talked to at the age of 8 and now after 15 years they think they're the same person they used to play with at neighbor's yard. There actually is nothing to connect them in the first place. I can't imagine randomly thinking of some kid I used to play with and suddenly feeling like I need to find them again and if I can't meet that person then I'll spend the rest of my life alone, only working. Not to mention that as a kid you just don't develop such strong and massive romantic feelings to be haunting you for the rest of your life, because you haven't even fully developed your own self-reflection – I think. That's so twisted... But I guess we'll have to put up with it for a little longer still.

Yup you're right... When I was writing that comment I haven't finished episode 4 yet. Now that I have, as soon as I realized that maybe FL's father died saving ML in the fire when he was a kid.... 😐 the eye roll of disappointment I made.

It's truly not that I want to be nitpicking or pointlessly complaining about every single small thing instead of looking at the bright and positive features... It's just... the frustration of this literally chasing us at every k-drama step we want to make as fans? 😭 I truly just want a story of two characters who are not connected by ANY childhood circumstances. Enough as it is I basically stopped myself from 99 % of reincarnation dramas because the base of re-finding your old love which is not really your old love is also driving me insane, but not as much as this, to be honest... 😂

Oh I absolutely get it. One at a time to keep you mentally strong, and after exams you'll deserve another reward atleast. Was the same for me when I had to study and didn't have time or energy to watch more things at once.😭 I hope Love Scout will be a good regeneration during your exams! 😇🤞

Many people find slow burn romance boring, I personally prefer it to the dramas where characters are head over heels with each other after 2 episodes, get together in episode 5 and next 10 episodes we watch them break up and make up...😅 Honestly the way you describe your conditions I think this might really be exactly what you're looking for.😉 It's so sweet but natural and realistic at the same time.

If I may I'd also recommend Tell Me That You Love Me, it's made in a similar day to day life way and the connection build slowly between the leads is very heart warming 😉💖

It's more like a slice of life drama indeed. The introduction episode whas maybe a little too long for my taste (1 hour 19 minutes) as there is a lot of characters that you don't know and you're getting used to the environment. However from second episode onwards it's truly pleasing, relaxing, nice, funny (but not in a cringe forceful awkward way) and the story and character developement progresses just right.... according to me atleast. If you're looking for something to calm yourself with I'd say this would be a good pick. Mind you it's a slow-burn romance and the characters are adjusting to each other in a natural way! 😊
