Bitting the finger - I think it tells us that FanFan is a willing participant in the relationship and have to not been forced into it. After using FanFan as ashtray, I was really stunned. The drama shows that Bei loves FanFan in episode 5 and you don’t use someone you love as ashtray. So, bitting of the finger reassured me that FanFan is willing lover not forced into it.
I think with the ashtray scene, Bei is trying to confirm that FanFan is still his in every way, especially after 2 years apart.
